TTFA aims to set the record straight on its support for Women's football
TTFA Media

The current TTFA administration took office in November 2015, with Women’s football high on its agenda.

We honored commitments to play in USA and accepted an offer to play in Brazil, and then set about an ambitious plan to hire a full time professional staff, and put our top local based players on retainer contracts.

It should be noted that the Women’s program has been fully funded by TTFA over the past two (2) years, and this includes U-15, U-17, U-20 and Senior Women’s teams.

Due to recent public statements on the Senior Women’s programme, the TTFA is obliged to put the following facts on record with respect to the present 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship:

Women’s National Coach Appointment

The following is a breakdown of monies spent on the Senior Women’s Programme only from November 2015
to date.

Note: under the current administration, it is the first time women’s national players were given retainer contracts.

Category Cost$TT
Player Retainer contracts/physiotherapy/consultancy$1,586,407.63
Hotel Accommodation for Travel and Camps$914,749.31
Salary to Manager and Local Technical Staff$640,782.07
Airfares to return foreign players and travel to foreign tournaments$417,152.02
Medical Supplies$47,576.55
Transport$50,000.00
Equipment$45,000.00
Total$3,701,667.58

The TTFA continues to work in the best interest of Trinidad and Tobago Womens football.

Another crisis to manage: we await how the TTFA responds to the public comments of the team manager.

If there is/was a sensible bright spot in this ill-fated WWC qualification venture,  it might be not having fired Jinelle James for speaking out. That might have really cracked  the hull of the ship.

please coache, doh start with that again. First of all Shabazz had that team. What did he do with them. He should not  be coaching any national team. He has visa issue with the US embassy. The TTFA knew that for ever,  why the hell they keep on picking him to coach national teams. The icing on the cake was his utterance that "this is the furthest that he can take the team". Everybody know he can't go to the US! What an f--king waste.

well said Tallman

Ppl need to stop talking bout stuff with little to no info.
We are a land of fight down and speculation.
The ladies did not get proper preparation at all.
Granted the assoc. is not the only party to blame in all of this and the internal struggles with the players which is well documented also has a part to play in all of this; BUT again, the poor preparation over the past couple years surrounding this program has always made it an uphill struggle for these ladies.

Ms Morace had a decent looking program in place wherer the younger players were being involved in the training/process.
And even with her gone, there needed to be a succession plan. How can we expect to rely on the same core of players for 2-3 campaigns especially.
Injuries, form, discipline issues all could have been alleviated with better continuity within the pool of players (which in itself is sthg we obviously need to look at to keep the younger core going)

There were a few younger players(still not enough), used in previous tournaments and qualifers within the last campaign and this one ----but we didnt see them later down in the qualifers and even the tournaments before (only a couple maybe were there)

We can't expect them to produce miracles if they are not training regularly AND playing at a high level consistently.
If we want to develop the program, we need to have that player pool of ALL foreign based players in college and clubs abroad(look at Jamaica as an example ---most of their team is playing regularly and based in colleges/clubs abroad or within the youth system and are active)
Our very own WOLF league needs vast improvement in order to be deemed a success.
We can't have a league with just 5-6 games and poorly run at the same time.
Expecting success from this model is unfair to the players involved if they are not given the respect and resources due.
