Soca Warriors Unveiled.
By Shaun Fuentes.

This country’s National head coach Leo Beenhakker has proposed to have the National Team based in Austria during the month of May in the build up for the start of the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany from June 9.
Beenhakker, currently in the middle of trips between Germany and Austria, revealed his intentions this week to the TTFF and will also oversee an international friendly away to either Norway or Wales on February 8, 2006.
All this with several other interesting developments were announced at a news conference hosted by the TTFF and the LOC 2006 at the Crowne Plaza on Friday morning.
The occasion, the final gathering before next Friday’s World Cup draw was attended by the top officials of the TTFF and partners.
A new official registered logo for the Soca Warriors was also unveiled as well as a new website www.socawarriorstt.com for the marketing and promotion of the National Team and the Germany experience. This website will be operational soon.
Those on hand also witnessed a feisty display involving two female models and one male model outfitted in costumes depicting the “Warriors” look.
Warner was also high in praise of Tourism Minister Howard Chin Lee for his input into the initiatives that will be taken up to promote the “Soca Warriors” brand on the global market. The Ministry of Tourism along with the Tourism Development Company, the TTFF and the newly launched Board of Directors to oversee the T&T/Germany campaign will be teaming up to ensure that the “Soca Warriors” team and by extent the country is marketed.
The Special Advisor to the TTFF, announced that following Beenhakker’s decisions, team training camps and clinics will take place in England and Trinidad between now and May 2006. Similar exercises will also take place in the United States once deemed necessary.
Warner said that Beenhakker also thanked assistant coach Theo de Jong for his services and he will now be replaced by another Dutch-born coach while the ex-Real Madrid boss has also requested that youth development officer and former national player Anton Corneal be brought on board to assist from January 2. “He wants him as his understudy so that he can leave a legacy afterwards and we were  quite pleased with that decision of his to have Mr Corneal on board. ” Warner said.
Beenhakker has insisted that he wants the team to play no other match at home other than that of the one carded for March 29 even though Warner said he will try to convince him to play another one in May. But he later explained why it would be a near impossibility stage such a match in Port of Spain.
The proposed team live in camp will take place in Austria from May 6-22. From that period too, Beenhakker will add a full-time European manager for the team that is multi-lingual and has the experience of the whereabouts in that part of the world. He will be added to the current staff.
Some of the other developments included the annoucement of the Team Staff for Germany which had as new additions - Esmond O'Brien as assistant to equipment manager to Ikin Williams and Dennis Ramdeen whose Company, Pepper Advertising will oversee public relations for the Committee, also being added as an assistant to Team Press Officer Shaun Fuentes. The rest of the staff remains with Aanensen as Manager, George Joseph, Peter Rampers and Sam Phillip as assistants, Ikin Williams (equipment manager), Zeph Nicholas (Physio), Wayne Lawson (trainer), Terence Babwah (Team Doctor).
Former General Secretary of the Jamaican Football Federation, Horace Reid, who worked on Jamaica's 1998 World Cup campaign, will serve as Chief Operational Officer of the Team while Brigadier John Sandy (Team security officer) and Cecil Wint (Chef) will also take up duty.
Ramdhan selling bumper stickers for Soca Warriors.
T&T Express Reports.

Former referee Ramesh Ramdhan has been issued a merchandising contract by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) and will be selling bumper stickers, calendars and other such paraphernalia leading up to Trinidad & Tobago's participation in the World Cup.
Yesterday, TTFF special adviser Jack Warner announced that he had advised Ramdhan to print in the region of 200,000 of the bumper stickers so that they can adorn the windscreen of every car in T&T. The stickers cost $50 for corporate bodies and $25 for ordinary citizens. Already, Warner said there was interest by an auto rental firm to have the stickers on its 1,000 strong fleet of vehicles and there were also other similar interest. Yesterday, it was also announced that a new logo representing the Soca Warriors has been launched. The logo features a battle shield with a representation of the Warriors. It was announced that the logo represents the fight that T&T intent to put up at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, it was also disclosed that money continues to come into the World Cup fund. Southern Sales have donated $50,000 and Johnny Soong of the Zen nightclub has dropped in another $100,000 to the fund. Warner said that all funds received will be accounted for, even the $15 given by a young girl from Carapichaima.
It was revealed that the first leg of the playoff match against Bahrain made a profit of $1,202,913, which Warner said was the most gathered from a match played on local soil. Ticket sales amounted to $2,399,565 and broadcast rights another $100,000 - a total income of $2,499,565.
Expenditure was totalled at $1,296,652, with the largest amount of $490,745 going to airfare and ground transportation for the team and officials. FIFA/Concacaf dues also amounted to $167,970.

We could make SO much money with some local games.

I would like them to fight up two. But I like Beenie's plan of a European camp. He eh making no joke.

Btw, anybody notice that we hear when the TTFF not making money at games.

But they sell out the last two games and not one word of how much money was made.

Why is it so hard to come by this info.

First time Jack Warner do anything dat I real like!

I am very hapy that Beenie taking on Anton as an understudy.

Dat man getting badtalk jes becasue Alvin is he family.

De fact is dat Anton is de best young coach in T&T and he really likes to work with de youth dem.

He is very knowledable and wil do a fine job if the TTFF leaves him be to do his thing.

Mad props to Anton

Excellent graphic artists are dime a dozen on elance.com.. where's the fan input in this? Where the item on that logo that will signify that we from trinidad? ah knight..lord put ah hand!

As far as Anton is concerned..I would prefer to see Beenie's understudy be someone totally new and not from the same family and fren thing that's been in TnT football..holding we back!.

Word is Kevon committed the cardinal sin of appearing in a intercol final for St Anthony's against coach Corneal's wishes and was summarily dismissed from the team as a "disciplinary action" even though he was one of the better players on the team.

interesting
so something else

who is the new dutch assistent coach ?

I don't think it could be: Gullit perhaps Aad de Mos ... na too much ego's

why did Theo de Jong got out ?
he was the only one that went straight to POS after Bahrain ?

and why Austria ... I was hoping for Holland.
But I gues Austria is nice and perhaps less press bothering them there.
If we play Norway that is not going to be easy.

I undertand and agree with what u saying bcuz at the end of the day trinidad football comes first, my only prob was that his father is a big boy in d ttff and as u rightly said he probably suffers bcuz of his last name, so now he has to work extra hard to prove that he deserves the job....i am sure he will have the support of everyone on the board....and i will be the first man to congratulate him if he is indeed a success.

Positive stokes:

The idea of acamp awya from the distractions at home is a good one. The men could focus on football and not on any distractions. Ah like dat idea.

The notion of a local coach as an understudy dbodes well for our  development of local knowledge to  extend the legacy.

I am still of the belief that we need  sports psychologist TO WORK WITH THE MENTAL PREPARATION FOR THE TEAM. lOOK DOH PAY ME. AH GO VOLUNTEER.

Now this is my opinion about the new TTFF website....from a graphic/advertising point of view.

a. Who ever is the webmaster/mistress didn't do a proper job expecially with the graphics
b. The sponsorship companies apparently had alot of say with the website, maybe that's why their logs are so huge.
c. "2" pictures of a couple of players...come on, where is the team's picture
d.  Somebody took a picture of the logo off the wall to be posted on the website.....it crooked man steups.
(ah getting vex)
e. The chick in green.....I would think dey photographer would have ask the girly to pose with the standard facing forward or something.
f. The whole website lacks creativity real bad

At least dey forum still getting advertised.....this is dey only positive thing ah seeing on dey site.

Overall my opinion is that someone was practicing how to become a web designer with the website.

Poor

ps if anyone ah allyuh want to give me shit for my comments and opinion.....2 words for ya later

allyuh hadda remember alot of these yute men seeing ssfl as a means to gettin schols and free education....until the national youth teams are set up properly to ensure a way out for these players dey NOT goin to sacrifice the rest of they future for it....trinidad have a history of leading u to sumtin an den turnin they back on yuh....it was wrong for kevon to disobey d coach orders but....he look at it as his future at stake.... plus st anthony's show him more loyalty dan ne ntl team so i understand  y he did wat he did.
Movant man i sure u understand where i comin from

Palos fill me in, how kevon neaves end up on he black list??? lolololol

Word is Kevon committed the cardinal sin of appearing in a intercol final for St Anthony's against coach Corneal's wishes and was summarily dismissed from the team as a "disciplinary action" even though he was one of the better players on the team.

Movantman daz what he do

If Tanner really take over as National Coach after Beenie we in trouble.  All I have to say is that in Trinidad foreign based players have plenty pull in major decisions, and with that they should call for a more qualified replacement.

I happen to be at the press conference. Was hoping to give allyuh the scoop as soon as it happen, but our damn server went down. I have de new logo but Ah still cyar figure out how to get a damn pix in a post.
A few things strike me when I was there.
1. A logo is supposed to be an icon that identifies with something, it is your brand symbol. That logo doh represent nothing about our team, our country, our culture, our people nor our style of play. It just represents the word "Warriors" which incidentally I never liked because nothing in our country's history or football depicts that we are warriors. We never had to fight for anything in we life. (SHIT LOGO). Ross advertising just rush someting based on their advertising style. Jack said in his speech that the team will be known as the people's team. If that is so then they should have had a logo competition. Nuff men on this site have real boss ideas.
2. Just out of de blue he appoint Ramesh Ramdan's company (who just have one good idea) to be in charge of merchandising for the team. to make a borrow from Anil (WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT)
3. Terry Joseph who is a newspaper journalist Full F...ing stop in charge of putting together a cultural entourage. What bout man like Norvan Fullerton and them people who really know how to put on Shows. Ah borrowing again (Steuuups)
4. I real respect Jack, because without him we would not have been where we are. And when he stand for something he does go all the way. But I am now totally convinced that Jack is a Light Bulb Manager. Let me explain that. It seems that when ever he get an idea or somebody comes to him with an idea, he does run with it like crazy without thinking it through properly. The amount of bad decisions TTFF does make is unbelievable. I feel sorry for him because he cyar be an expert at evrything, He is a visionary, but he surrounded by too much incompetence, and who have a lil sense have no balls.
I just hope and pray that he does read this site. We could put together aboss team from this site to run we football.

The question is are we truly using this site to its true potential ??

Given the new website by ttff, will this site's average new membership per month decrease  ??

Will the market share evntually be halved and in essence socawarriors.net will loose some of its market share ?

What moves are we/this site making to NOT become relatively obsolete or left in socawarriorsTTFF's trail ?

Are we truly co-ordinating with TTFF/Warner to establish cooperation between the two websites instead of competition and to give each its particular niche'  ??

www.socawarriorstt.com is a new domain, but it is not a new website. Currently, it is the same as it's predecessor (http://www.tnt.fifa.com).

There is no competition between the websites. We are a supporters website, while theirs is the official one for the TTFF. This is the usual setup for any and all federations, football clubs etc.
