Football / Re: One Carlos Edwards.....there's only one Carlos Edwards

Hey guys,does that goal reminds you of the goal that Carlos Alberto scored for Brazil against Italy in the 1970 World Cup final?Between those two,which one you think was better?The one from Carlos Edwards or the one from Carlos Alberto? ???

In 1970,when Brazil beat Italy 4-1.In that game, Jairzinho became the first and only player to score in every world cup match,we also had the privelige of seeing the best 'executed' goal  in the history of the world cup when the captain Carlos Alberto score and 'exclamation' of that' bullet' 4th goal for Brazil.Brazil play as beautifully in comparison to the 1982 Brazillian squad,but the only difference is(of course),the 1970 Brazillian team scored more goals than any other brazillian side past or present and are disputed to be the greatest team to win the world cup.

Football / Do you Think TNT will have sell out crowds at all 3 WC Matches?
« on: February 21, 2006, 04:59:26 AM »
Of all the Bru ha ha about scarcity of tickets and corruption.It is a fact and history has shown that certain games in the first rounds of previous World Cup games,usually do not have a sell out capacity.Granted the stadiums that TNT will play in have a capacity of 30,000  up to to 45,000 seats.This may sound like a dotish(proper English term doltish)question,but given all the ticket scandal and people not getting tickets and that TNT is not a 'powerhouse'football nation,do you still think that there still will be a sellout crowd for the Sweden,England and Paraguay matches?Peace out.

You can look at those sporting moments in this context:"which sporting moment in TNT had the greatest impact,not only on the public's reaction towards it,but in terms of overcomiing great odds in achieving it."Talk done

Football / Re: Which Team had the better Cinderella story,TNT or Jamaica?
« on: November 22, 2005, 11:36:38 AM »
I guess to make this question easier to answer is by asking it in another way,well in a two-fold type question:At the time of qualification,which of the two teams were less likely to qualify and which of the two teams were in a greater do or die situation in terms of going to the world cup?

Football / Which Team had the better Cinderella story,TNT or Jamaica?

Hey Folks;
    Looking back at last week's euphoria of TNT reaching the world cup finals is nothing short of a Miracle.Out of over 200 teams that participated during the past 2 years we are among the top 32.In 1989,when 24 teams were vying for that place not as many countries were in the mix back then.You gotta remember that now,for e.g,the Soviet Union now consist of several nations.Maybe 1989 was meant to be.Remember Mexico was banned in participating because,as far as i can remember,the Mexican youth squad had overaged players and FIFA imposed a penalty,i.e non participation of the Senior mexico squad to vie for the 1990 World Cup finals in Italy.In other words,had Mexico participated back then ,knowing that there were onlly 2 teams to qualify from Concacaf,It would have been Mexico and Costa Rica going to Italy instead of Costa Rica and the USA.
   Anyway folks my main Question is this;How would you all compare Jamaica's qualification for the World cup in 1998 compare to that of TNT going next year.As you know there were some similarities between the two teams.Both TNT now and Jamaica back in 1997,had a rough start to the campaign.Which of the 2 teams had a more miraculous ride to the "Big Stage"?
   Lemme hear your comments on it.
