Yes they did take part in the qualifying, but their points did not count and they placed 4th. I n addition they played 80 games...this is what amazes me.

Hey everyone I was reading this article and the author say that the Egypt Under-20 has played 80 warmup games in preparation for this tournament. They played more warm up games than our Senior World Cup Qualifying squad.......

Football / Is it possible for Gus Hiddink to coach Trinidad?

This guy is the zen master when it comes to taking ordinary teams and making them competitive on the world stage. He did it with South Korea, Australia and now Russia. He has  coaching down to a science. Jack Warner should pull some strings to get this guy to be the coach of Trinidad as soon as his contract end with Russia in 2010.  I am just thinking about the future.

This will be a good match. I think that Jamaica will win this one. They are playing at home and the have a lot of pride so they will be playing as if it is a World Cup qualifier. According to one of their players they are still licking their wounds after the cut arse we put on them in Stanford 20/20 (cricket), so they will be looking for revenge on the football field. I am trini and wish we can put a cut arse on them on the football field (at home) as well.

Leo  used Cornell in the second half to use his pace against tired legs and it worked well.Cornell should have converted the half chance he got.  Leo is a boss.

Trinidad were unlucky to get those two late goals. We held them for 82 minutes. Stern goal was not offside and Crouch goal was a foul on Sancho. Crouch looked as if he was climbing a fence (Sancho's back) to head the ball.
