Just curious, didn't KJ have a loan stint with Stoke at a point in time?

yes..and he did very well. Pulis was the manager too and he rates Jones. Of all Jones English club managers I would day that Pulis and Srurtock is the men who were most impressed with him.

Thought so, thanks man. KJ love them red and white stripes boy. from St. Anthonys come right up. lol. I woulda like to see him at tottenham. all the best to him still.

i know we in the initial stages of rebuilding....but the mediocrity has to stop. just because we didn't get chrome doesn't mean it wasn't a bad result....we didn't even make chile sweat.

Pres blank Caps to reach 'Big Five' final

Kern De Freitas

Saturday, October 24th 2009

Presentation College San Fernando held their nerve and buried their chances to edge past Carapichaima East Secondary 2-0, and into the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League "Big Five" final.

Presentation will now meet St Augustine Secondary in Tuesday's final, after a 73rd minute goal from Travis Francis and a late Rodney Young penalty.

Terrence Ramsaroop, Presentation's goalkeeper also frustrated "Caps," who would have gone ahead a number of times but for his intervention.

Caps started the brighter side, Pres picked up their game after the first ten minutes and Caps had the best of the final minutes of the first half.

Nathan James called Presentation goalie Ramsaroop into action early, blasting a right footer that caused him to tip overbars.

The South League champions also signalled their intention early on, causing a few alarms. But twice more, Ramsaroop would come good for Pres, while at the other end, Tristan Khan twice came close.

James had the best chance to hit the net before the break in the 40th. But after stealing the ball and losing his marker, he saw his attempt saved by Ramsaroop's legs. After the break, Ramsaroop stopped Anton Gill's free-kick, before Tyler Scipio thwarted Gill yet again.

Pres had a headed goal by Tristan Khan declared offside, before Ramsaroop blocked James from point blank range, causing Christon Ralph to pound the turf in disgust.

He would probably have wanted to jackhammer the earth after Travis Francis put Pres ahead in the 74th,

Controlling the ball that arrived above his head, he turned to unleash a rocket past Aaron Alfred, Carapichaima's 'keeper.

Caps had a Renaud free kick desperately scrambled away, and also earned a couple of corners, but could not fashion a comeback. Deep in injury time, Pres earned a spot kick, and Young slotted home to cap off a hard-fought victory.

Now, they have the weekend off to rest and regroup, before facing their most difficult assignment yet; a final date with St Augustine's "Green Machine".

ON A TRAGIC NOTE:

Teen kills student after match

Saturday, October 24th 2009

A student was stabbed to death near the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella yesterday, following a BGT&T Secondary Schools Football League match.

Police said around 7.45 p.m., 15-year-old Damien Duncan was stabbed several times during a fight with a student from another school.

The match was a Big Five semi-final between Presentation College (San Fernando) and Carapichaima High School, which was won by Pres 2-0.

Congrats to PRES.

RIP youth man. The senselessness hadda cease.

yuh eh ketch de heights, is de fact that the crowd gone crazy fuh dat..

i understood where you were comin from, and iz so true. me and my boys always joke and say that in tnt we scream more for small beats or when a bullet crash the crossbar/post, than when an actual goal score.

Football / Re: We are encouraging slackness
« on: September 29, 2009, 07:36:05 PM »
the "small population" excuse have to stop dred. yes we are a small nation, but tnt produces a wealth of natural talent that can be compared to some of the top footballing nations in the world IMHO. the problem lies mainly in the nurturing and development of that talent, as well as the footballing culture freakazoid was speaking about. time after time tnt has come close to and even achieved some footballing milestones that would not be expected because of our so called small stature. the painful thing is that when we place ourselves in an excellent position to build on what we accomplished and take it to the next level, we take 10 steps back. and  a crippling paradox is created because of our "you did your best mentality" because it's like we expect to always be in the category of minnows because of excuse a, b, c etc.

now don't get me wrong, i am not saying be in an uproar and lambaste our boys if we lose to the brazils, italys etc. but don't write us off on paper, and be so "proud" of a "respectable" scoreline. that is just breeding the  mediocrity in our nations football that has been around for too long now. Kudos, however must be given to the U20s in this tourney because the truly showed that they were out there to WIN and  not fulfill the schedule. Once the mentality is there the results will follow please the Lord.
