2006 World Cup - Germany / FIFA announce ticket portal details
« on: March 09, 2006, 12:46:17 PM »
They finally announced how this is going to work today ... basically you can sell unwanted (as if!) tickets back to them, buy returns from them and, subject to certain conditions, transfer tickets to another named person.

However, there is no formal 'swap' facility ... and they've stopped calling it an 'exchange'.

Full details are on the page below, at the foot of which there is also a link to ourworldcup.com.  If you agree that 8% of the tickets available for fans of each of the 2 teams at each match is too low, please take a moment to add your name to their petition.

Football / FIFA 4th Phase Ticket Sale
« on: February 12, 2006, 06:12:47 AM »
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I think it's a new announcement that FIFA have only made today (Sunday).  Finally they've published some details of the 4th phase of ticket sales due to start on Wednesday.  Here's the announcement in full:

The fourth sales phase for 2006 FIFA World Cup™ match tickets opens on 15 February 2006 at midday (CET). "First come, first served" applies to sales during this period, i.e. applications will be processed in the order they are received. Ticket supplies will be frequently updated as new tickets become available through to the end of the phase on 15 April 2006. Tickets will become available as stadium seating plans are finalised, and from tickets offered for resale after being returned for non-payment or other reasons. For this reason, more tickets may be available later in the phase than at the beginning.

Hi there,

Apologies if you've seen this already from my earlier posts, however I think you may find the following helpful.

I'm a Brit and a Bristol City fan (I know, we all have our crosses to bear!) and also a bit of a German linguist, so I've combined my interests in football and things German to produce a fans' website about next year's World Cup.  It's called:

The World Cup in Germany .com

The main reason for this message, however, is to let you know that if you're thinking of going out to Germany next summer (and the Germans are saying come and enjoy the fun, even if you've haven't got tickets - they'll be lots of fan parks and beer tents in all the host cities!), then I'll be sending out a special e-mail newsletter next Friday as soon as possible after the draw is made with travel and accommodation details for each team's first three venues.  Each person on the mailing list will get the newsletter relevant to the country they support.

So if you'd like to be able to start booking hotels and flights and so on before the mad rush sends prices soaring, this might just help help you to do that.  You can get your name on the mailing list via the link below:

World Cup Draw Newsletter

Thanks for reading this and if you take a look at the site and have any ideas of things to add to it, please let me know.

Cheers!
