You're right, it has been blown out of proportion. It was nowehere near 30 seconds, it was less than 5. Still, he should have known better...I dont think a reasonable person would do something similar if they were representing their employer. He definitely wasnt doing it to get fired though, Liverpool have been trying to get rid of him for ages. And from a legal perspective, what he did was too insignficant to fire him for.

« on: March 19, 2009, 07:56:07 AM »Here is where you start seeing all the different requirements of being a goalkeeper (for all the people that cannot appreciate what GK's are required to do) The save that Kameni made requires some agility but more reflexes than anything, and he has more of those than most GK's I have ever seen. There is a penalty that he had saved some seasons ago and the rebound fell right into the path of the onrushing penalty-taker (can't remember who it was or what team it was against) and from about five feet away, you could actually see Kameni move his right hand to adjust to the path of the ball that was full blasted by the shooter. What Coupet did here is truly amazing and I would venture to say is actually one of the most amazing things I have ever seen a 'keeper do. (When the f**k did this happen, Filho?) to be able to run backwards and get the spring and elevation to head that ball takes great strength and agility, not to mention his quick thinking TO actually head the ball for fear of the referee blowing the whistle (even tho I don't think that pass was intentional) and you really have to just shake your head. The save off the header was more routine if you only look at it by itself, but as part of the whole play.....truly, truly amazing!!! The technique on the header was rel nice, too.
