2006 World Cup - Germany / Accomodation In Dortmund & Nuremberg
« on: May 26, 2006, 11:28:46 AM »
I am pleased that I have got my 3 nights booked in Dortmund at the Fan Camp next to the stadium fer the Sweden game.
Nuremberg on the other hand has been a real hassle.
Finding avail hotels that are not sky-high in price has just not been easy AT ALL & I am breaking the bank to secure a place.

I have managed to reserve accomodation there at last, but I am not committed.
I am wondering if anyone else has had any problems specifically at the Nuremberg end & if they have booked accomodation in the city if they might have any cheap suggestions.  I have found the FIFA site very poor fer doing the bookings though the search engine fer finding hotels has been good.  Still I cant seem to source any budget accomodation in the city.

The tag at present fer my 4 night stay there is 400 Euros / £275!!!

Surely I can do better.  Please help if u know something I dont...  ???

Football / Re: Match Reports - T&T vs. Peru

Have been frustrated with Samuel's lack of finishing all year as have all Dundee united fans.  Sammy does scare the life out oof defences wit that incredible pace but he iis not & never will be a consistent  crosser of the ball.  His strength & pace should not however be questioned. I srtongly believehe can b a major player fer us this summer.

Jason Scotland has the ability to be a proper poacher. He has done this fer Dundee United last year & St Johnstone this year.  Jason has a habit of scoring BIG goals fer his teams & is a great super-sub.  he scores inspired goals & we Dundee Utd fans were devastated at the SFA decision to relegate him to the llower leagues which I am sure would have been covred at the time on the messageboard here.

Stern John missed by the sounds of it 2 glorious chances.  Needs to be sharper.

At the end of the day, the players are going to be abit jet-lagged but need to be doing the business as they say. Beenhakker will put them in their place & as he also said has expectations from Saurday once they get to England.  He'll correct em & make sure that they are fit.
At thhe end of the dayy, focus & keeping it as well as the overall fitness of the squad will decide our fate in Germany & Beenhakker seems like the right kind of taskmaster to remedy any problems relating to these issues.

They need to get their shit together though. The World Cup is the real deal & they ill get fcuced over if they don't tighten things up....

Football / Trinidad v Peru on Wednesday: Radio Link?
« on: May 07, 2006, 07:33:33 AM »
Sadly the game doesn't appear that it will be televised in the UK on Sky Sports & I don't have access to ESPN if it's being carried on there. ???

Does anyone have a link to the radio broadcast of the game to ensure that I will be able to follow the coverage of the game?

cheers in advance!

2006 World Cup - Germany / Anybody Here Goin' To Germany?
« on: May 07, 2006, 07:30:27 AM »
Hiya,

I am a new member top this forum but am thankful to have foound it at last.
I am a Scots-Trini, massive Dundee United fan & based in Belfast.

I actaully got a chance to speak w/Big Marv & Colin Samuel at the Utd Rangers game a couple of weeks ago.  Both really nice guys.  Sancho was there as well but I think he's had a few beverages  :P :beermug: :P

I was in San Fernando a couple of weeks ago & was fortunately able to secure a ticket fer this first game.  Sadly I wasn't able to get a second ticket fer my mate.

I don't know if anyone here has been on the Wrld Cup ticket site but it has been extremely frustrating to see tickets available fer the Sweden game as well as the Paraguay game & it seems exceptionally difficult fer mere mortals to have any luck actually getting order in on that Ticket Shop area of the Wrold Cup site.  Would be interested to know if anyone has had any luck with this.

My intention is to get to first game, Dortmund & then party on in Trinnie style, w/out ticket, try to attend the England game.  I understand that there will be large screens in every city, in this Nuremberg to watch the game fer tose without a ticket.

I am basically looking fer Trinni fans in a similar position who may want some company, or to split he cost of accomodation etc, share doubles/hot sauce etc...

Should be the trip of a lifetime.  ;D
