Pointman what are you insinarating  about Port Vale?  What are his alternatives still being on Port Vale, Well if he had still been at Port Vale hed have been getting first team football and playing regularly, not sitting ont he reserves bench like he is now at Coventry,  Yeah we wish Birchall all the best as he is at heart still a Vale Favourite and will always be , but please dont go slating port vale by saying hed still been there now  as a alternative, maybe it was a wrong move for him to leave but you cant stop the lad for trying...  NEVER FORGET CHRIS BIRCHALL IS AND WILL ALWAYS COME FROM PORT VALE....

Football / PORT VALE UPDATE
« on: February 04, 2007, 08:37:58 AM »
HEY all how are we??

How are Trinidad and Tobago doing??

Hopefully better than us lol

Over the last month weve had our ups and downs ..  We need to win basically we had a good run in december winning 4 games on teh trot and Leon constantine equalling a recored of 18 goals before christmas.

so far from then we have lost5 and drew 2  we need a win ...

Player news we have lost players and also brought in players

Luke Rodgers form crewe
Kalvin Kamara from Cardiff
Ross Gardner from Forest

and we are looking at ex Arsenal trainee Rhys Weston

We have let

Jeff Smith go to Carlisle
christiam Smith on loan to Cambridge
and Louis Briscoe has been released..

We nearly lost our leading goal scorer tpo barnsley but at the last min he declined it and again declined a move to brighton on last day of transfers.  So we will lose him to a championship side in June and will recieve nothing as he is outta contract unless our board can persuade him with a good deal.

We havent really replaced Birchall in terms of a player but hopefully we will soon.

How is Birchall doing for you

Coventry fans are slating him by saying hes  overweight and slow and no good

What are your views??

Any way i hope all of you are ok and stiil cxome on to our One vale fan board..

If none of you know by now  Port Vale have had a fantastic start to the season  during august Port Vale were top of teh league  till we suffered our first defeat against Yeovil away from home,  We also progressed onto the 2nd round of teh Carling Cup in which we drew Championship side QPR,  Unfortuantely the team we maybe wanted teh most was Coventry At Vale so we could thank Chris Birchall for everything he did for us.  During September we have dropped a bit of form losing 5 games outta 6 but  only moving to 4th in the league we also progressed to the 3rd round of The Carling Cup after beating QPR 3-2 We are awaiting the draw for the next match in which we will know by Saturday 23red September at 3pm just as we kick off to Bristol City,  our next few games are vital  as there is only 5 points  between us and top of the league and the teams below us arent far off and this weekend of results  could prove to be bad for us if we lose.

Anyway how r u trinis doin

Hope ur all Ok

filho  good post

i know  majority of trinis support  the backing of us and  birchall and i for one  am still looking at how he is doing at coventry,   yeah  saying that if it wasnt for trinidad  he wouldnt have moved maybe he wouldnt   we dont know,   sam collins and paynter moved to hull and they not internationals.

I know majority of you  make us welcome still and u dont have to  we have gone form having 2  stars of trinidad   to none

like i said u have to remember we made him into the player  ur coach saw  not you

Listen i have never said  that birchall wasnt good enough for  a higher move and he certainley did wrong   he didnt  do wrong and im wishing him all the luck in the world,   he deserves it .

all im saying is  Port Vale are no top team but they are the team he loves  and has been with since he was 8   so  at the end of the day  its Port Vale he should be thanking for making him the player he is today.

as i see it  unless a player of trinidad and tobago is in the 2 top leagues in england they 2 good to be in a lower team some trinis think it is wrong for a trinidad and tobago player to be in a lower league,

Coventry isnt far from Stoke on Trent  maybe a hour,  Birchall  will always be a Vale Player in our eyes and hope he does exellant at coventry .

as for some trinis  dutty  look  at all the posts bt birchall then reply  please..  Flex being one of them

If wasn't for T&T Birchall might have still been playing for Port Vale. Sheffield United or Coventry City wouldn't even have a Birchall thought. T&T made him into a better more recognized player and these English coaches need to recognize and respect this.

Thank you Port vale Chris  im fed up of some of the trinis saying  that Port Vale werent good enough for him but at the end of the day  we groomed him into the player he is  and thats the player that beenhakker  saw and picked for his country.

Well whats wrong with Birchall playing for Port Vale,  They never stopped him from attending the international games  did they??   Port Vale made him into the person that beenhakker saw   he was at port vale since he was 8 years old   so we made him into the person ur ex coach liked and picked   so if it wasnt for Port Vale and his mum  Chris Birchall would never have played for You

so in some respect Port Vale made him a better player as well,  Birchall loves Port Vale and hopes to return one day  whether as a player or a fan  so in some respect Port Vale wll never fade from his heart .

there was no interest from a premiership side  other than sheff utd  wanting him  but that got no where

none of us know what birchall wud have done if interest from newcastle was there

port vale certainly didnt  have ne offers of interest from newcastle united

he does deserve a standing ovation,

apparently he wanted to come back against leyton orient but on the advice of foyle and glover decided against it so we could take in his decision to leave us ,  ( Source:  The Sentinel)

i dont think hed have got booed at Vale whether fans liked him or not ,  hes been at the club a very long time and are thankful for his service to us

Birchall should have been given the right to come back saturday and not told stay away
