Boy, 13, buggered, murdered ( Guardian)

By Adrian Boodan

A 13-year-old Central Trinidad schoolboy was buggered and murdered in Enterprise, Chaguanas, on Sunday. His nude body was found lying face down in a pool of blood in an incomplete red brick house obliquely opposite the home where he stayed with his uncle.

Parmanand Boyo Persad was sexually assaulted, his throat was slit, he was chopped on the hands and about the body and his head appeared to have been repeatedly bashed into a concrete wall, knocking out his teeth and making his face unrecognisable. His uncle, 36-year-old Devanand Maharaj, said the boys teeth were scattered about the floor and had to be collected in a cup by the undertakers who removed the body to the morgue.

The room in which the murder was committed is occupied by a woman, who was reportedly attending church at the time the teenager was killed.

Police launched a manhunt and nabbed a 33-year-old male suspect. The man, who is a known drug user, was held at about 10 am yesterday while hiding out in the vicinity of PriceSmart in Chaguanas.

When the Guardian visited the scene at about midday yesterday, officers from the Special Anti-Crime Unit of T&T (SAUTT) were there carrying out investigations while detectives from the Chaguanas CID were gathering statements from relatives.

Persad was a Form Two student of the Chaguanas Junior Secondary School

Best fans
It's tight between South Korea (blithely happy and as bouncy as Tigger on a pogo stick), Trinidad & Tobago (merry party people), Spain (colourful, rowdy but friendly), and Australia (non-stop noise in the stadium).

THAT is sooooooooo true! we should be the best fans, esp for our relatively small numbers! we are merry and party loving ppl!  ;D :beermug:

Birchallsgirl who are smthg yes!  Im a girl too.. and yea.. Birchall not awful lookin.. so yes i can understand the attraction but jeez.. ppl just givin their honest opinions.. dont tell ppl to grow up and dont tell ppl who are true soca warrior fans.. we support the team as a unit.. the socawarriors are the whole squad.. not just christopher birchall..  and c'mon girlie.. he wasnt excellent he was out of touch.. but EVERYONE has bad days.. nobody bringin him down and everyone recognizes his valuable contribution.. but if he out of touch ..he shouldnt be on.. but thats beenhakker decision..

Stop jumpin down ppl's throat missy, we have the right to freedom of speech.. dont be blinded by love  ;D let ppl express their opinion, warmonga and them  are true fans, true fans make constructive criticism and dont support someone just becuz they are goodlooking..
But who can blame ya?! Footballers are nice to look at  ;D

« on: June 16, 2006, 12:21:15 PM »
I agree! referee have too much power.. they need access to replays or they need more linesmen or smthg.. Poor decisions by Refs can change the whole damn game.. worse yet.. constant bad refereeing can not only disillusion players but fans too!  Referees need some sorta help to ensure that they are 1.) CORRECT and 2.) FAIR

but despite the obvious bad refereeing yesterday, we still play damn good and stuck in there.. BIG UP DE WARRIORS  :beermug:

Football / Re: Biased Ref?
« on: June 16, 2006, 12:16:59 PM »
LOL.. according to a man in MT.. "dem japanese an dem eye too choonky" i.e they cyah see nutting!.. The referee was indeed VERY HARSH on our players, and not on the english players. Terry , Gerrard and Crouch fouled our players.. and no yellow cards! The referee added unneeded pressure to the players! It really wasnt fair.. bu thats life  >:(  C'est la vie!

2006 World Cup - Germany / Re: Birchall Rules Out England's Glory
« on: June 16, 2006, 11:36:50 AM »
Congrats Birchy! You're a true fighter (and quite diplomatic! :rotfl:) .. but those english players are smthg else.. I hope he got his gerrard jersey! since that was like his hero/role model ( according to the hundreds of birchall articles) .. However Gerarrd acted rell awful  in that match and Birchall should invest in a new hero..( i dont know.. probably dwight yorke?  :P)
I rell hoping Birchy score 2 goals against paraguay!

Football / Re: Is it just me or was Birchall invisible?
« on: June 15, 2006, 06:44:51 PM »
Birchally seemed a bit star struck! in the first half.. but he worked his but off in the 2nd half! and he looked for openings to score.. but he didnt find any..
The intro. of rooney threw off the defenders... lawrence got more concerned with rooney and it seems like he left crouch to sancho ( who in my opinion climbed on sancho to score that goal.. which is a foul.. but anyway!)

We try rell hard.. and england play hard too.. no one deserve to lose.. 0-0..  I feel rell bad for shaka.. with that goal from gerrard.. and yorke work soooo hard!!!!! ( gosh did u see his face!!)

It was awful refereeing... simply awful.. balls went outside.. terry and gerrard fouled our players.. and im my opinion.. our goal wasnt offside..  It wasnt meant to be..  but we still have a chance.. hopefully Birchy & co.. will shine against Paraguay.. its okay.. that we're sad or angry.. but i think we should all, also be PROUD..

Three cheers for Our beautiful warriors!  ;D :beermug:

Football / Budweiser Man of the Match: Dwight Yorke (TRI
« on: June 10, 2006, 12:49:12 PM »
Dwight Yorker was quite simply inspirational with his tireless display in Trinidad and Tobago’s 0-0 draw against Sweden in their opening match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™, earning him recognition as the Budweiser Man of the Match.
Known for his goalscoring prowess during his years in the English Premiership with Aston Villa and Manchester United, Yorke seemed to be everywhere on the pitch as he helped T&T, who played almost the entire second half with ten men, nullify Sweden’s attacking trio of Henrik Larsson, Freddie Ljungberg, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He was every bit the leader of the team on the pitch today,” said FIFA Technical Study Group member Roy Hodgson. “His vision and leadership in attack and defence was absolutely first-class and his fighting spirit all matchlong truly personified his team's performance.”

rani5 such a royal name deserves a royal response.I believe it means "queen". unfortunately i'm not fully aware of the situation in trinidad as I live in Swaziland altho have trini relatives. I apologise for misleading u but u shud not assume nonexistant things.

No offense foot_ballz00.. but u have to be pretty ignorant not to know that trinidad is under a democratic form of govt. I know swaziland is pretty far away but still if you know abt the trinidad team .. shouldnt you know a little bit abt the actual country.  I truly apologize for thinking you were a trini and may be one day u may find it in you heart to forgive me  ;)  oh and is THAT what u call a royal response??  ;D

Cricket Anyone / Re: Pick the Team based on Results!
« on: May 22, 2006, 08:05:03 PM »
umm.. how about :

Gayle- he can make quick runs when he ready  :beermug:
Chattergoon - appears to be a good bastman who can stay n make a good opening partnership
Lara- of course .. u gotta have him!
Sarwan - scores run as long as he being patient
Chanderpaul - can score fast when he's ready
Richard kelly - bats fast and bowls well ( good alllrounder.. can replace bravo)
Ramdin Vs Baugh - je ne sais pas...  Ramdin is a better keeper.. but Baugh is a better batsman it seems..
Dave Mohammed- essential ingredient.. missin for soo many years! ( he can bat and take wickets! and for god sakes ya need a             spinner on the team)
Bradshaw - take wickets and could bat
Edwards -  modest bowler .. better than the rest..
Taylor - can bat fairly well and takes wickets

 * Lara must sub dwayne smith as a fielder.. Smith= young, fast and good fielder.. also.. if he in the line up.. he can bowl and bat( when he ready)
 * west indies need some FAST bowlers.. all of them lacking pace.. and edwards method seems to justify why he always injuring himself
 * Bravo needs to be disciplined and needs to go back to the nets.. he's been inconsistent with the bat and the bowl.. i wanted to kill him on sat. ( nvm he get yuvraj wicket .. but c'mon first 2 balls he hit for 4!!!)
* West Indies need to rem. that their fielding must be up to mark.. when south africa had come last year.. if anyone rem. they jumped on everything.. in the ODI in Trinidad.. they probably save a good 50 runs.. diving and jumpin after everything!!
 ;D

On a more positive note... the first 2 ODI's really showing Lara's good captaincy skills.. he doin a rell good job.. ( i dont know why viv richards always jumpin on him.. jus like tony cozier!  >:()

Anyways Good Luck to the Windies 2mrw!  Cheers!!  :beermug: :beermug:
