« on: September 09, 2009, 09:53:17 AM »
I just saw the "Warrior Spirit" and it told me that the Soca Warriors will prevail 3 - 0 tonight against the USA.

Hmmm............ was it a dream or just my imagination  ;D ;D.

Seriously though, we need to win this game and though the odds are highly stacked against us, I still believe.

Remember "Defeat is defeat only if it is accepted as a state of mind.

I see Maxxed Football fourms at http://www.fbtz.com have the Mexico vs USA WCQ and the friendly between Jamaica and Ecuador. Hopefully, they will put up the El Salvador vs TT WCQ as well.

Anyone putting the game up for download or can it be downloaded anywhere on the internet?

Let me share a little something:

"Defeat is defeat only when it has been accepted as a state of mind"

Have we given up on the campaign when there is still a flicker of hope?

Have we thrown in the towel when we still have a chance even if it is an outside one?

I for one say "Warriors Unite!!!"

"THE DREAM IS STILL ALIVE!!!"

I just call 800-FANS and got through. Order tickets now as it early.

The online site seems to be down though.

We need to try to get the locals to train with the foreign base together for a while. Don't know if its possible. I remember Bertille tried it some time back.

If it is possible, cohesion and gelling will not be a major problem by the time we play Costa Rica and Mexico.

First off, Jumbie, this is not my site. I live in Trinidad not the USA as Eman info showed. I just impressed with the site and that T&T football getting exposed.

Secondly, competition or no competition, the site doing something good. You know how much fan sites & clubs Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, and all dem big clubs have. Time for Joe Public, San Juan Jabloteh ect, strt exposing their football to the world.

Whoever did it, just letting people know about it and perhaps they used the forum to find out about it.

Playing Mexico in Azteca will be probems for us. Pray they don't use that ground. The team needs to try and draw this game somehow. It is possible. Joe Public defeated Adelante in Mexico before playing crap in the return leg at the MLS. Also, remeber how the team performed in Mexico when Beenhakker was in charge of the team. We ned to play at that level somehow to have a chance or defend like never before.

Stern needs to come out this slump and start scoring goals again. Then again, the midfield needs to feed him the ball better.

« on: May 01, 2009, 04:09:18 PM »
I did a Google search for soca warriors websiteS and I got the normal TTFF, SocaWarrios.net (The Best), Warrior Nation ect. Low and behold, I see in this new site. SOCAWARRIOR FUSION.

It seems to be a new site being developed by someone . There is very little content (if you ask me, it still seems to be under construction) right now but it is seems to be updated once a week.

Check it out. There are very few Warrior websites out there and I am glad when someone tries to support our boys and football. Let's hope they develop it fully and not be afly by night site.

Anyway, the URL is:

Check it out.

The site is now looking for people to construct crossord puzzles for them. Seems you have to pay $10 US a month to become a crossword constructor and when you submit a puzzle, they will sell it for you. They claim all sales made from that puzzle goes to the creator that puzzle.

Interesting, I might be interested.

« on: March 30, 2009, 07:10:10 AM »
Touches I agree with 95% of what you wrote here.

However, I think that Latas and Jones should have started. Latats, because of his experience and even if for just 30mins, would have eased the pressure on Edwards and Daniel and provide a more potent midefield. He is the "Little Magician" after all even though of his age. In Yorke's and Birchal's absence, he would have been the spark. Just look at how he set up the goal for Hyland.

To me Carlos was good and was the best man on the field in a team that played well below par. Jones last touch remains an issue and a few of his crosses were off a bit. Don't forget one of the corners he threw away.

We got a point tonight and the campaign is off to a better start than last time. However, the so called "Big Guns" are now at our door steps and we need to improve fast starting with theUSA on Wednesday.

Tonight we not just lacked intensity but organisation and creativity. This looked like a T&T from the nineties and pre-Benhakker. With the absence of Yorke & Birchall, we lacked creativity and control of the mid-field. Keon Daniel did not have a good game and even though Carlos Edwards tried, I have seen him play much better.

Today was a case for Carlos to lead from the front but he looked ordinary. Also, like our players did not what to do in the last third of the field and I am still wondering why our defense still cannot deal properly with set plays.

Thank goodness Honduras was not at their best or we would have been annilated like in 2001 when they massacred us 4-2. However, a point is a point and once again I say that we are off to a better start than in the last campaign. Problem is now USA, COSTA RICA and MEXICO back to back.

We need to improve and fast. I for one would have started with Kenwyne Jones ahaed of John or Scotland and Latapy ahead of Keon Daniel or one of the other midfielders.

Then again, I am not the coach.

I know many people love doing Crossword Puzzles. In fact, that might be the only reason why they buy papers. Also, it kills boredom and time and it can be challenging at times. Any way, check out this site for online crosswords:

The site is still a work in progress though.

« on: February 12, 2009, 11:18:08 AM »
I think the 4-4-2 system is a much better system that the 4-5-1 we were using. I think it send a message that we are going to attack you and score goals rather than defend and use the midfield to do the running and pass the ball to the striker to score.

Kenwyne did not play well last nigt when compared to Stern. May be they need more time to partner together up front.

Football / Re: Warriors allow El Salvador a great come back.
« on: February 12, 2009, 11:12:18 AM »
Let me start off by saying that I am glad that the team came away with one point. Had that game gone on for ten more minutes, it would have been curtains for our team.

Let's look at the positives:

1) We get a point from an AWAY game in the first match of the HEX. Keep in mind that Trinidad & Tobago have never won the first game of the final round of qualifying and especially doing this is a central american territory. We are famous for not performing up to par here for many years.

2) The team showed heart and fight for about 70mins. I admit many of the players did not look fit and were not fluent but they tried extremely hard. If we had done this against Cuba in the first half or even the Gold Cup, we would not have had problems.

3) We have a HOME game next even though it is against Honduras and they did give us a whooping in the 2000 qualifiers at home and they have a a vendetta against us for knocking them out of contention for the World Cup in 2000. If we play to our full strength come March 28th, we will be successful. Four points from two games, man this even sweeter than the lasy qualifiers (hopefully).

Now the negatives:

1) We should have shut the opposition especially early in the second half. Why did Yorke not take the penalty is a mystery.

2) Fitness. By the second half, many of our players were just gone. Come on, we are going into hostile terrirtory and we are not fit. If this was Mexico, Honduras, USA, Costa Rica, it would have been trouble.

3) Defence. Once agin our defence was all over the place, giving the opposition too much space and getting confused by the diagonal ball. Nothing new in our football

In the end, we got a draw in an AWAY match and I am content with that. However, we need to improve quickly. Firing the coach now will not help and I am sure many of the waggonists on this site are just jumping on the bandwagon of criticism. I sure if we beat Honduras no matter how bad we play, they will support praise the team instead. Let's get this match out of our systems and look forward to the next nine to come.

South Africa, here we come!!!

Fitness seemed to be the major factor. We let it slip around the 70min mark. The team put their heart into it early on but they faded. We need to get things right fast but I will take the away point any time. This could prove crucial in the long run.

Costa Rica and USA are the problems. We need to improve quickly. We did it once, we could do it again.

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs El Salvador game (11-Feb-2009).
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:22:29 PM »
We need to improve and get the job done against Honduras. The team did well to me in the first half. However, the diagonal bal, especially on the right side was giving us problems. Then in the second half like we got too complacement and fitness too became a major factor.

Anyway, we came away with a crucial point in an away game (SHOULD HAVE BEEN 3POINTS). It is important in this campaign that we try not drop any points at home, starting with Honduras on March 28th.

Go Warriors!!!
