Thanks. The funding is all out of pocket. We haven’t been able to connect with the government or supportive businesses. I have all intentions to share any knowledge and I’m hoping there is a platform. Any suggestions? There are plans on keeping a personal relationship with all the student athletes because it builds a network where everyone can benefit, communicate and collaborate. We had a seminar to educate student athletes interested in the SAT’s for studies abroad.

All-Stars International Sporting Tours (ASIST) is a group that aims to provide community service through involvement in sports. ASIST took an initiative, in December of 2017, to provide exposure and opportunity for the skillful and educated youths in Trinidad and Tobago aspiring to play for colleges abroad. ASIST is presenting their first College Combine Assessment on the 8th and 9th of December (9am-4pm) at the ML Ball Park, previously known as the Marvin Lee Stadium. As a result, we have invited college soccer coaches from Howard University, Florida Memorial University and Washington Adventist University in the United States of America (USA). The US coaches will be visiting Trinidad and Tobago in order to provide their expertise and give incite on their selection criteria. The coaches will select individuals that they deemed fit and ready for the US College System. In addition, they will advise interested soccer players about the requirements needed to succeed as an all-round individual in USA’s College system.

Crown Trace FC founder, Nicholas Griffith and former Trinidad and Tobago National Youth soccer athlete, Tevonne Morris are heading the project. Tevonne was awarded a US soccer scholarship which provided him with an avenue to complete his bachelors as well as his master’s in Business Administration. Tevonne played for the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) in the Super League last season and is currently working for the American Stock Transfer and Trust LLC on a work visa in New York City. Nicholas Griffith is founder of the Crown Trace FC team. Nicholas has been to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom providing young athletes with mentorship and international exposure. He was able to take the Crown Trace FC U17 team to the semi-finals of the USA CUP (Minnesota, US) back in July alongside Tevonne. Both Individuals have the common goal of providing opportunity and international exposure for young athletes.

The College Combine Assessment would be the first of many, as the organization aims to catapult aspiring student-athletes from the youth soccer school tournament with an average 2.0 GPA (minimum). They will also include soccer athletes from the University of the West Indies (UWI), the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and other players that qualify. This structure will ensure that we provide the best quality players with the potential to be included on a university roster for the upcoming academic years.
