I started doing some videos to use another platform to raise awareness also.

Player wishlist for Yorke:

2 CB (one at least MLS level and above)
1 DM (at least MLS level and above)
1 AM (at least MLS level and above)
A fit Levi who won't get injured

Staff Selection
Stephen Hart as special consultant/technical director on Part time basis (Yorke will need as much insight as he can get). Hart is kind of available. He's only doing an assistant position all the way in Portland. I think if a proposition like that arrives on Hart desk, he may consider. .

Let me throw 3 names in the mix here and hear your thoughts:
1) Desevio Payne (28)
2)Deron Payne (22)
3) Devyn Payne (19)

3 brothers.... 3 defenders... playing in Holland, father in Trinidadian. So let's pray we get these 3 (or at least 2) on board to solidify our defense.

4
Yes soccerman, this should be an opportunity to bring the players in for some kind of training. Hopefully a Edwards was thinking ahead and working on something to bring a friendly to fruition.

Good move by the TTFA. But will we see the "Yorke effect"? That is players with TT roots making a move to play for the national team. . We'll see if this takes place. Because apparently there are a few that can come in to the team. The only ones I've seen identified are a bunch of under 20s.

Yorke is a coach with a chip on his shoulder as he identified in his documentary, Black coaches aren't afforded the same opportunities he said, so now to make a World Cup would be a huge accomplishment for him as a coach also, so he will be very driven. He knows what it is to play at the highest level and on the biggest stages, so he could pass that on also. He knows our culture and how to make it through (even with our limers life culture) so he would teach the players how to push hard.
I'm on board with this move and eagerly await his staff selections and what a good scouting team finds (especially for the DM and Defensive side of the park).

Has he quit the national team

Is this confirmed? or is this speculation at this time?

There is a rumor going around that as Man U position opened up, Yorkie gonna try again for that and again country is 2nd priority for him..... really not sure how valid that but if there is any validity to it, then he should not even be considered for us at all, that shows where his allegiance is.... but then again, we wait. and slowly easing King into the role with giving him all this coverage time, so he builds his resume.  :worried: :worried:

We as a nation have been known to only pick old players for our national team when they now have to fight to give what they may have had in their younger days, but I think right now under a coach with foresight and vision - young Derrel Garcia (zumzum) should be around the national team, especially for some friendlies etc. This boy is quite a talent (again another amazing Garcia  :D.)..... But again I mentioned a coach with foresight and vision... so back to reality, he could make a national team by the time he is 25  :waiting: :waiting:

Exactly and we have some potential defenders that could come and start working with our system....
The biggest of which is Deron Payne (22) and playing top flight in Holland (he needs to replace Alvin). Josiah Trimmingham is a big strong player if we looking for that (27), Antony Herbert (26)... there are others but I don't have the names in front of me now. but I know we spoke about them at least in the scouting group.

Natty and Dantaye had an interview and they spoke about how they know each other's style of play and what they thinking, that only happens with time, we need to get a solid back line and give them time to play and work together. That has to happen now if we are to have a good back line for WC.

Ill keep saying it till someone else sees it, Alvin Jones has a lot of good traits and could contribute sometimes, but many times he leaves the defense open and always looking to argue with players and does look suspect  ::) ::)...... we have to inject some youth into the back line and build a stronger chemistry....

what this last game has shown is that we can play football and compete, I mean Derek King is not the man to take us forward sorry, but he has ideas and it looked good in this last game (opposition being Cuba who aren't the powerhouses in Concacaf) but we have work to do and we did enough this time to stay up in League A and to play in Gold Cup. But we have plenty plenty work to do to qualify for WC.

Well 4 new players signed for the JPL..... I guess that's the step of progression that out players looking at. The league there is a little more organized and has wider media coverage, and European connections. Good luck Jordan Britto, Josiah Daneil, Aaron Enill and Matthew Woo Ling.

That was embarrassing for sure. I have to catch one of his games soon. How was he so advanced is he playing midfield or something?

He is an overlapping winger that just made a run and cut inside and found himself there..... tough not to have scored that........

When you turn on the TV and Neveal starting for your national team, that simply makes no sense!

Friends asking me if we don't have anyone fitter and if he's a magician like Valderrama or Messi...my answer was always no!

I know some peeps have an issue with me picking out one player, but my point has always been that his selection, apart from making no sense,  WOULD NOT have been accepted by any other top football country. And apparently Kieron and Anton them decided the same damn thing.

No foreign coach that we hire will ever call Neveal in the physical condition he's in...Hart or Dwight might call him...but why though?

I almost threw up my breakfast just by the thought of a comparison between HACKSLOW and the magicians you called. he should be on a program just running until he drops about 30lbs before he is even considered for national duty again. (cause tbf we have seen him in some good football situations before, he is an ok defensive mid when fit). But yeah a new coach has to shake up this team and get them hungry for it again, Angus started that and he would get the credit he deserves but foreign coach with bringing our best foreign players, not being entangled in the football politics too much and we should be well on our way.

19
If "Yorke" the smiling assassin is in the running, he will need to be assistant to Hart with all due respect...

Yorke can be an opportunist at times and out for his own ambitions and not that of the nation tbh... Using our national team as a stepping stone for his career. Hart is a true patriot, control should be placed in is hands. Yorke is still learning to be a successful coach...

Absolutely right, Yorke is a national hero, an ambassador for us, a mentor for some.... but he does NOT HAVE a qualifying resume to make him a serious candidate for our national team. He comes with Club football in Australia and a need to beg for jobs... that's not a step in the right direction for us. Realistically only Hart would be the best local coach choice, but we all still hoping that an international coach (preferably european/ south American)... to bring something different, something unique. We have a WC to qualify for.

20
God is Great...

And there will be jubilation throughout the land...

Harty where are you brother, let's make a historic run for our nation before we are plunged into the next World War..

LET THE HEALING BEGIN!!!!! we saying happy days but who is coming, there is still that fear of the unknown at this moment.
If we get good coach with a proper system, we could make a run for world cup yes. but limited time and he has to come with ideas, vision and to get that 100% support from day 1.....

Rio Cardines signs professional contract with Crystal Palace
cpfc.co.uk

Crystal Palace Academy defender Rio Cardines has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old initially joined the Under-16s in 2022 and has gone from strength to strength progressing up the age groups.

He performed well in 2022/23 for the Under-18s, scoring on debut against Norwich City, recording 18 appearances in total with two goals to his name.

The 2023/24 season saw him continue to progress at U18s level and even make his debut for the Under-21s against Athletic Club in the Premier League International Cup.

Cardines suffered an injury late on in 23/24, concluding the season with a strong 27 appearances in total (23 for the U18s and four for the U21s) with one goal and two assists.

While putting pen to paper, Cardines said: “It’s a great feeling to sign my first professional contract. I’m really happy, proud of myself, it’s been a long journey.”

This is awesome and very well deserved for this upcoming star!

Seeker this is one of the players who may have benefitted from that COPA exposure  :)

Seriously though, hopefully he makes a little more money in the USL than in the TTPFL?

But he's not a starter on this team and always comes off the bench?

We can only hope he has a great game when someone from MLS/Europe is watching, or when TnT plays it's Nations League games in September.

To be fair, he's 21... he has to grow into the international game, when he left trinidad he had a huge culture shock it seemed and went nearly dormant for a while, now he finding his way, so I believe in time he will get the exposure and the contract he deserves. This club is a fair club for now, but I hope he doesn't settle for it... (although settling doesn't seem to be in his nature).

Daniel Phillips signs for Stevenage FC
Stevenage FC

Stevenage Football Club has agreed terms with central defensive midfielder Daniel Phillips to join Stevenage on a two-year deal.

A product of the Chelsea and Watford academies, 23-year-old Phillips joins from Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone, where he played over 50 matches across the last two seasons in the top flight of Scottish football.

Phillips is a full Trinidad & Tobago international, with twelve appearances since making his debut in 2021, appearing in World Cup and CONCACAF qualifiers.

Manager Alex Revell said, “Dan brings new qualities to central midfield. We have tracked him ever since he left Watford two years ago – it’s taken a while, but we are delighted to get him over the line”.

Subject to international clearance.

Now this should be an actual discussion.... from top flight scottish league to turn down a contract extension .. to THIRD DIVISION english league football... I mean, I think english brand better but this seems like a step down, or maybe a set up for something better in a few years??

Thoughts??

The World Cup is the stick all national teams are measured by. Not the Nations League. Not the Gold Cup.

Trini, that is quite true. But We will take both Nations league and GC Cup any time also.

Jamaica's coach free now....let's pray that good sense prevails and we get him to our program....

You gave another  reason why angus should be fired .

Jamaica with all their accolades recently, failed at the COPA and the coach stepped down (I wish angus would) ...
I'm praying somehow the football gods smile on us and we get him to turnaround our currently failing program. (fingers and toes crossed).

Was at this game. Watching him live made me realize how much of a professional striker he is. He missed a couple sitters in the first half but overall was always a problem for the defence.

He's been in good touch recently,  :) :) had a good game again over the weekend.... had a solid header that was saved but the follow up was the opener for Calvary.

Just rewatched the 2nd-half...Angus really can't help himself...he brings on a DEFENDER (Alvin) for Levi.

He then brought on an attacker for Shannon...real scaredy-cat coaching.
Gill or Natty would have embarrassed big strong Gabriel who was 'mannersing' Levi in the first half...they would have been too nippy for him

These Latino refs and us eh, after rewatching -- bout 6 times -- Reon Moore's penalty it was simply way more easier to give than Phillips'. Ref was about 16 yards with a clear view of it, and the defender wasn't even close to making contact with the ball...but there he is EMPATHICALLY waving it off...VAR would have MADE him give that penalty :)

Just like I did with Antony on my Manchester United; I hope Daniel Phillips gets some really minor injury to prevent him from playing against Bahamas.

Looking forward to Bahamas and Dantaye and Yeates...Shaw good right where he is on that bench, maybe he might give the tempo-bringing Muckette a few minutes if we up by a few goals...but I doubt it ;D

LFG Warriors!!!

Anyone listened to his remarks vs the Grenadian coaches remarks??? He's like... well we didn't lose and y'all have to support us cause this is your team and blaming the window on not getting time to gel. No talk of proper tactics and when questioned about decision making he laughs it off and says well we could always say ifs, buts and maybes after the fact.

Meanwhile Grenada's coach said they disappointed they didn't get the 3pts and had a clear plan to get it, he talks about scouting trinidad team and knowing their tactics and predicting our play etc. This man been in his position 6 WEEKS!!!! Angus been there 3YRS  :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff:

at this point better we take Grenada's coach yes... We may actually play football that makes sense and people want to see.

Our coach is the same one who when asked about college players like Spicer and Wayne Fredricks before the draft laughed and said those guys won't be able to make the team cause they need to play professional football.... fast track to 6 months later after the draft.. you now looking to call them.... NO SCOUTING SKILLS AT ALL.

For the record, I never supported the decision to hire him in the first place and most certainly the decision to retain him before the Normalisation Committee handed over to the current executive.....good grief!!!  Are we serious about this guy??!!

Could you honestly imagine that craziness, where in the world does a party leaving office, put a team in place and basically tells the new party coming in that I put this team here and you have to keep them and work with them. (take about setting up the new party for failure) that is absolutely UNHEARD OF...  :bs: :bs:

Welcome to the dictatorship....
