Subject: Calling all Soca Warriors

Folks, the draws for the Pan Am Games football tournament which involves both men and women teams from Trinidad and Tobago were recently completed and my cricket club, Kaisoca CC, is planning to muster up some support to travel to Hamilton to support our teams.

Here are the details : We will be making the trip for four preliminary matches, three men's matches and 1 women's match. Why 1 match for the women? Kaisoca is a cricket club and has matches on the weekends when there are 2 women matches so we cannot go on those days but you are free to attend on your own.

Dates are :  Tuesday July 13th. 5:30pm : T&T vs Uruguay       Men
                   Wednesday July 14th. 8:30pm : T&T vs Columbia   Wome
                   Friday July 17th.  8:30pm   : T&T vs Paraguay     Men
                   Tuesday July 21st. 5:30pm :  T&T vs Mexico       Men

I will be arranging with the stadium as to which section we have to buy tickets for and what musical instruments we will be allowed to take in the stadium as well as what length the flag poles must be.

If we do not get our $10.00 Soca Warriors t'shirts, then I am asking all supporters to wear red ; hats, wigs, bandanas, pants and rags.

We should meet outside the stadium at least 3 hours before the match to ' warm up ' to DJ music before marching into the stadium.

Everyone must find their own way down to Hamilton and purchase their own ticket since there is a difference in price for juniors and seniors.

Please pass this mail to anyone who you think is a Canadian / T&T soca warrior.

Feel free to contact me if there are any questions or comments.

We would like to have over 500 T&T supporters with their RED clothes and flags and musical instruments.

Cheers
George Maharaj

Despite the central location of the Ato Boldon Stadium, it is probably the worst one for football fans. That's because it is the most difficult one to get to by public transport.
Attendances there always suffer as a result. Always.

- it aint all that bad to get to AB Stadium by "public" transit

- if you take a north-south ptsc bus, it makes a stop at the preysal flyover (solomon hochoy hi-way) $4

- from there it is a 5-10 min walk to the stadium or a 2 min ride by taxi or the nuff ph on that route - $2

They seem to have a long term plan in regards to coaching for their mens national team.

It looks like Paulo Wanchope (UEFA A License) is being groomed for the job - he was assistant coach working alongside the more experienced Colombian Luis Pinto at WC 2014.

As a former standout player, his committment to the sport and his country is demonstarted by the fact that he bought and now owns a 2nd division team in CR.

Ikleston keep eye on Under-15 players
By Derek Dechabert
The performances of Bermuda’s Under-15 national football team haven’t gone unnoticed as Ilkeston FC are keeping a close eye on their progression
Back room staff at the club have been watching proceedings in the Cayman Islands with a keen eye as they look to pounce on potential new signings.
The English club already have Bermudians Antwan Russell, Lejuan Simmons, Rai Simons and Dante Leverock on their books.
The young talent on display in the tournament have access to the Robins after the club and the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) forged a partnership that allows the country’s talented footballers to travel to Derbyshire.
“The club are keeping a very close eye on the successes of the young Bermudian national Under 15 side that are currently storming through their group in the CONCACAF Under-15 Championships in the Cayman Islands,” said a spokesperson at the club.
Bermuda comfortably progressed through the group stages of the tournament after going through Group A undefeated, beating The Cayman Islands 3-0, Aruba 3-1, the Bahamas 1-0, the US Virgin Islands 8-0 and St Maarten 5-0 en route to the semis.
Their win on Tuesday evening saw them end the group stage with 20 goals while conceding only one.
Travis Boyles and Judah Chapman put Bermuda ahead with two first-half goals and they continued to dominate after the break with further goals from Aaron Burgess, Knory Scott and Oneko Lowe in their win over St Maarten.
The Gombey Warriors are now set to play Guatemala in the semi-finals on Friday evening.
News of Ilkeston’s interest in the young players comes on the back of duo Angelo Simmons and Dominique Williams joining the squad on a trial basis.

Fluid with electrolytes will be absorbed.

Football / Re: Local and Foreign club partnership - pros and cons.
« on: August 14, 2013, 05:20:48 PM »
Forming partnerships with professional (foreign) clubs can help with player and coaching development here.
I'm pretty sure the bigger the name of the club the more costly it will probably be.
It may be worth looking at 2nd and 3rd tier teams (e.g. Championship and Div 1 clubs in England) who are better prepared and willing to work in our environment and will do it for "time & material" without exorbitant sign-up/contract fees.

Teams in the MLS with deep pockets can afford partnership with the likes of Everton.

right now teams like guyana, and peurto rico (who just started playing football the other day) dun caught up with us, look @ cuba and panama how they flew right passed us, we can't beat them no more, and guess why, not bc we don't have skilled players anymore, but these countries started taking football seriously and they are acquiring the help that they need to move forward by getting outside help.
[/quote]

me think the above quote can help trigger a solution by checking why did gt/cuba etc pass we.

in that regard, we should look at the leader in we region (cfu/concacaf) and determine what we need to do to "get past them".

if we look at just catching up with them, we go always be playing catch up (like heinz).

RIP warrior !!

Back in the good old days, we had Lennard on the right wing and Brewster on the Left wing. Both were small built, and could hold the ball and work it patiently and skillfully down the flanks.
