This was probably one of the most ridiculously foolish lawsuits ever.  This silly frivolous lawsuit he filed back in 2021 is one that will send a signal to EVERY football program he applies to, to steer CLEAR away from even accepting a resumè from him.  Which football program in their right mind would want to assume the legal risk of interviewing someone who may end up suing them, if they don't hire his ass?

No one wants to deal with mental weaklings walking around with victim mentality, probably offended if someone merely says 'Hi' to them... :rotfl:

Football / Re: Thread for T&T vs Martinique Games (6 & 9-Sept-2019)
« on: September 06, 2019, 06:00:36 PM »
The play that transpired after that 88th minute T&T corner-kick pretty much sums up T&T football today.

T&T is awarded the corner-kick.  T&T player waltzs lazily and nonchalantly to the corner to take the kick. Only 2 T&T players were in the opposition's PK area to await the corner-kick.  Corner-kick is taken.  The ball predictably is easily caught and held by the opposition Goalkeeper.  Opposition's goalkeeper THROWS the ball to one of his midfielders at the halfway-line, with no T&T players anywhere around that opposition midfielder (even though just moments before there were only TWO solitary T&T players in the opposition's penalty area to await the impending T&T corner-kick).

The counter-attack started by the opposition goalkeeper who threw the ball to the halfway-line, is continued UN-OPPOSED by opposition's midfielder who is able, via a series of UN-OPPSED passes, to get the ball to an opposition forward IN THE T&T PENALTY AREA --- and that opposition forward is able to EASILY avoid the T&T defender's poor defense, and with his back to goal, he is able to spin towards goal and take a very good clever shot towards the T&T goal, leaving the T&T defenders and goalkeeper flatfooted and dumbfounded.  T&T was lucky on that play as the ball richocheted off the goal-post.  Although Martinique did not score on that play, this is the type of weak school-boy football that has defined T&T jokey-football in the past few years now.  :banginghead:

Good way to throw people off the trail as to what I see really going on, so we don’t think anything is going on underhanded with the dictator

I don’t buy cat in bag

This sounds like the classic 'Fox and the grapes' excuse.

This coach suppose to be a big coach from Everton ..the quality of the passes no better than school boy football..
The type of runs ..one dimension..
The tactics ..no different from school boy football
disgruntled armchair trini coaches are the absolute worst fans i have ever encountered in all my years of following sports. sometimes I can't help but think that you actually want the team to do bad so you could have the opportunity to disgustingly bash the coach and the players in the most demoralizing fashion.

with all your silly babbling and nagative assinine comments about the coaches, have you ever stopped to think that these past coaches the like of Steve hart francisco maturana Otto fisher and presently Dennis lawrence actually make these players perform Obove and beyond their capacity given the fact that they came through a shabby local coaching system and an equally dirt poor make shift local league?

in case you haven't noticed our federation is operating and has been operating on fumes and are at the point  where they could hardly pay the players and coaching staff let alone make long term plans to improve the standard of football in this country. have you ever considered that our local private business sector does very little or nothing to support football in TT not even out of the perimeters of the ttfa? for example encourage and help to build private training camps or academies where the game could be taught correctly and efficiently in a professional environment?

we have been doing everything haphazardly and lobsided from the inception and expect positive results and that's madness taking into consideration We were doomed to fail from the onset. as it stands we have no standards for sports in TT and everything is done on the basis of hit or miss. there's no long term planning no future projection no sustainable investment, what else do you expect buster?

I think you and the bastards of your ilk should be happy with the way thing are because for what we put in, we are overachieving and the only victims I see here are the coaching staff who have to wait months to get paid and the lads who go out there and compete with their hearts but lack the basic training that would allowed them to compete far more efficiently. you should be ashamed of yourself putting the blame on all the wrong people, instead you should focus your attention where the blame truly belong, but considering whom I'm addressing, that might be wishful thinking on my part.

@ Pull Stones:  Sorry...but I have to fully agree with coache.  He aired the sentiments that I've been voicing for more than 20+ years now regarding T&T football.  The players still generally play 'Intercol school-boy' football at the international level.

And the excuse about funding and administration and all that drama, although may be true to a certain extent, doesn't really explain the general poor play and poor decision making on the field by the players; especially when T&T struggles with the likes of poor destitute countries like Haiti, Jamaica, HONDURAS, Guatemala, and Costa Rica etc.  The players a blessed with talent; but they lack football IQ, I realize.

My take on the game last night:

In the first half, T&T was effectively passing the ball, and finding the open man.  We were moving the ball, controlling the tempo, with fellas playing into the space, and moving to attack (though unsuccessful) when the opportunity presented itself.  T&T played a 'team football' and seemed to play to the 'flow' of the game, instead of trying to force the action and chasing the game.  Except for the poor defensive clearance, the focus on defense was pretty admirable, with pressure being applied to the opposition --- although much improvement is still needed. In the first half, the defense also contributed to the attack by distributing the ball with short passes to the open man to alleviate pressure from the opposition attackers.  This was a far cry from the amateurish defensive long-boot we always utilized, which in the past would effectively give the ball back to the opposition, and thus allow for constant counter-attacks on our goal.  The 1st half, our defense played with cool heads (until the 43rd minute), tackling, marking, retrieving the ball, and distributing it from defense and working the ball forward into attack with short passes.

In the 2nd half, everything broke down.  Our ball movement and passing became almost nil.  Fellas all of a sudden decided to play one-on-one football, instead of the team game that was evident in the 1st half.  The small-ball passing-into-the-space ceased, and the silly over-dribbling took over.  The 2nd half was a return to our 'Hero-Ball' mentality;  Our defensive pressure also ceased, and we ceased 'working' the ball from defense.  We fell into past bad habits of trying to force the play, and we paid the price.

I'm not sure if it was a mental thing or what.  The team don't yet seem to have an 'identity' as per what defines its game.  From what I see, Hart is rightfully attempting to instill a 'total football' style of play with the team, but probably with the lack of practice time and friendlies, everyone on the team are not always on the same page --- or they not always on the same page for long.  IMHO if T&T played the same game they played in the 1st half, we would have had a higher probability of seeing a better result --- of course nothing is guaranteed, but I am hoping that we do not fall into the trap of throwing-out-the-baby-with-the-bathwater.

There were some good things from last night's game, but those positives could only really be found in the 1st half.

Poor defensive clearance right to the feet of a US player at the top of the PK spot caused that goal.  Other than that, T&T has been holding its own, and at times have dictated the pace of the game.  Despite the 43rd minute goal, I do not see a huge disparity between the levels of these two teams.

Right now it's all just mental.

There are many T&T footballers with an ABUNDANCE of football IQ, but they don't end up playing pro football, or not even for the country.  Frankly, for the most part, the T&T footballers with the highest football IQ end up going to college to study medicine, engineering, law etc after their stint in the SSFL.  I saw this numerous times with the PRES Sando teams of the 1980s, among other SSFL teams out there.

This does not happen in TT alone. I am almost sure this happens world wide.

I am shocked to read this comment as it suggests that national footballers lack higher IQ's than those footballers that depart for medicine, law or engineering. Their are two fundamental problems with this statement: 1. It lacks any quantitative evidence that academic IQ translates to football IQ and 2. It presumes that IQ test are measure of intelligence.

The latter, ignores that most educators today ignore IQ test as a measure of intelligence as it has consistently not proven to be a reliable predictive measure for success. One of the key reasons is that IQ test tend to favor people who find the easy answer, IQ test ignore rational and irrational thinking required in real world decision making. This might explain why as a country we can't fix our problems but that's another matter.

The former, lacks quantitative evidence that national athletes lack IQ, on the contrary I can find a high percentage of highly educated national athletes relative to the general population. In addition, because you have academic ability doesn't mean you have football IQ. Are you suggesting because you book smart your football smart? Where is the evidence? Sadly, looking at the administration of sports in TnT the opposite might be true.??

I had the pleasure of speaking with a world class footballer who had NOT gone to college, but spoke French, Italian and Spanish though he came from a small village in english speaking West Africa. He had multiple businesses on multiple continents that he managed. I asked him how he did this with out a formal education.  He said the mental and emotional intelligence to run at top speed, avoid 3 or five human beings, then pass a ball 40 yards to your team mate feet calculating distance, time, space, wind in a split second conditioned his mind for decision making under pressure. He said we all have 2 legs, we all train, we all have technique; its the mind that separates us. He felt it was an advantage to him because most people under estimate his intelligence so he enters negotiations with an advantage of knowing how is opposition is thinking about him.

@ Tobago28 --- I'm actually not shocked that you missed the point of the post.  Because I never said or referred to "academic IQ".  I (and others on this forum) was referring to "FOOTBALL IQ".

However, the point I made about players with high FOOTBALL IQ in T&T, not pursuing football after their SSFL playing days, and instead choosing to pursue Academic Degrees, is a valid point.  Again --- this has nothing to do with academics.  The point made is that the high FOOTBALL IQ players seem to be lost to the player pool in T&T, as for the most part they don't pursue the game any further after the SSFL.

I hope you understand and appreciate the fact that I just fully negated that post of yours where you exclaimed your shock at my post.

You're welcome.

@ Deeks --- I hear you, but it happens more-so in T&T, because money-wise there isn't much of a future in the local pro-league teams.  It's not a good thing or a bad thing --- it's simply indicative of the economic reality.  A player who has the chance to further their studies and secure their career prospects in the future, may find that it makes more sense to attend university, vs playing for relatively almost nothing in the T&T pro-league.

And yes, I'm sure the same thing happens in Aruba and Belize as well....but I'm more-so comparing T&T with countries that have well developed professional-leagues where players can earn life-changing sums.

I wanted to add something else as well to what I mentioned above with regards to our teams lack of off the ball movement.  It's also that our teams don't utilize 'dummy-runs', and 'passing the ball in the space' (instead of directly to the man) enough when attempting to breach the opposing teams 18-yard box region.  Our style of play is one where for the most part our players stand and wait for the ball to be passed to directly to their feet, instead of the passer making a straight pass into the space, with the intended-target making a dummy-run diagonally behind the defender into the space to collect the pass.  This is something we seem to do extremely sparingly, and normally as if by accident, instead of with purpose.  This is something that a lot of bigger teams who man-to-man, don't have any more talent over T&T, do to us all the time at all levels.

Not saying its a cure-all, but if we utilize plays like those at all levels of our football, it would make T&T a scary team to play against --- not just every few years.  Anyway, I hope the youths on the U-20 side develop their football mindset, strategy, tactics, and most importantly football IQ, over the next few months.

Remember...the Lady Warriors began to play respectable football in late 2014, with the hiring of a good coach (Waldron) who instilled good tactical play, including dummy runs and off the ball movement etc, in their play.  We have the skills.  Win, lose, or draw, we just don't apply that abundance of skill to good tactical football consistently.

Cheers to improvement and better things down the road with the teams at all levels.

outsideman...isn't that the lack of coach skill level of the game....@every school and U15 and up...so you saying  kids playing smalgoel no coaching involved but some of the kids have that roar skill.....they join a club or team the coach see the skill set but don't know how to have these kids play with out the ball and pass into space.... these things are fundamental football @ the lowest level....you talking about culture of bad coaching to me of guys and girls coach who is mature of the game to instill these basic things....or they just don't know...my Trini brother I hope you understand what trying to say

@ najee --- I'll say something that a lot of people on here may not agree with, as far as the reason for T&T's footballers (at all levels) general lack of football IQ.

Generally speaking, the footballers who pursue the game after SSFL just don't seem to really understand the game.  My apologies on any unintended offense caused for saying this, but some of the best football minds in T&T probably wear a white lab-coat every day at work.  Just saying.

T&T: 0
St Lucia: 1:   As of the 40th minute, 1st half.

A defensive minded St. Lucia scored around the 38th minute against the run of play.  T&T dominating the ball, but as usual with all of our teams, we have skills for days but absolutely almost zero player-movement off the ball.  Too much skilled players, but everyone who doesn't have the ball at their feet, just stands around liming on the field of play.   :banginghead:

T&T do not have many skilled players. Knowing how to brukk and shift do not make you a skill player. We do not even have enough players who can shoot on target but yet we want to call them skilled players. What we do not have for sure are enough players with an intelligent football iq.
.

Sando Prince --- Not true.  T&T's problem has ALWAYS been having 'skilled' players (and I mean that sarcastically with regards to 'shaker-men'), but we don't have much IQ players.  Fellas know how to dance and shake, but they don't know how to run off the ball.
