mes que un club for real oui....

"But he did adapt very well in the end, and he's really humble considering all that he's achieved. Here we teach discipline, order, control, and we try to show that a football player can be a star without being a 'show-off', just by making your team-mates better.".....madrid should show this to cristina.

Interesting to see that they dont do any fitness till the age of 16 though

To soccerama, the gov't is NOT responsible for paying the salaries of the TTFF. It is a private entity and is responsible for generating funds for the organisation. Governments have assisted the TTFF financially in the past but its not their responsibility.

I agree dinho, ronaldhino has been playing very well of late and he said he is better than he was at barca....it may not look that way but at barca he had better players around him which will make him look better and also the Serie A is a more physical league so he may not appear to be regain his previous barca form......Dunga hadda b mad not to carry him WC

Barca played over man u in the 08 semi but one bad pass by zambrotta gave scholes a free shot on top the box that caused us the game...but that wasnt happening 2 yrs in a row....Fergie was clueless...i wanna know why wud u pay 30 mil for a player and not even start him...Fergie said thet Xavi and Iniesta probably never gave away a ball in their life....A few months ago fergie still in shock and he said he wondered if Man u stayed in the right hotel and all kinda bullshit.....The rookie out coached the veteran...

I find that is admirable for Veron to be on the list seeing that he is no longer a european player...I think Diego should be on the list though

Xavi World’s Best Playmaker
www.fcbarcelona.cat
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has named Xavi Hernández as the World’s Best Playmaker 2009. Messi came second and Iniesta fourth.
Barça continues to accumulate awards. This time it’s the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Following on from the recognition of Josep Guardiola as World Club Coach 2009, and Víctor Valdés as sixth in the ranking of the World’s Best Goalkeeper, Xavi Hernández has been named as best playmaker, an award he also won in 2008.

Messi and Iniesta

Xavi, who will receive the award on 1st February in London, finished just ahead of team-mate Leo Messi while Iniesta finished fourth behind Kaká. That’s three of the top four for Barça.

The home-grown midfielder was the only new face in the top seven compared with the previous year. According to the IFFHS, he received the award because of his “intelligent way of playing”. The jury was made up of representatives of 81 countries from across world.

The classification
PLAYER   VOTES
1- Xavi (FCB)    164
2- Messi (FCB)   163
3- Kaká (Madrid)   99
4- Iniesta (FCB)   98
5- Gerrard (Liverpool)   54
6- Cesc (Arsenal)   45
7- C. Ronaldo (Madrid)   41
8- Lampard (Chelsea)   35
9- Pirlo (Milan)   26
10- Verón (Estudiantes)   13

Winger Theon James tried to put through #17, who was just a little slow to get to the ball, and the teams went in to a 1-0 score at the half, with St Augustine forcing a desperate save from Naps’s Keinol Paul just before the halftime whistle.

Allyuh notice how unprofessional this journalism is, so they dont even have a team sheet with the players numbers? I know they used to spell players' names incorrectly but dis here is real madness.

Now Palos I totally agree with you, the fellas did compete and the scoreline IMO wasn't a reflection of the match but at the same time we cannot accept mediocrity....How long will we sing the song of we are a nation of 1.5 million ppl and they have 80 million. In 10 years I dont want us to reach a WC at any level and be satisfied with a 2-1 loss.... even though we played well yesterday, I think that game was a winnable one.

Clyde Leon did not play a bad game last night as some of yall said. IMO he put in a good shift last night. Most if not all of us here do not know more about the game of football than Latas. We do not know why Birchall started, maybe bcuz he's hurt as someone said earlier, maybe bcuz he was looking shaky in practice or maybe bcuz of tactics...we jus see the startin line up and criticize. we dont know what goin on in training....so let's just wait and c what happens for the next game

Football / Re: The bigger side: Real Madrid vs. Manchester United
« on: June 12, 2009, 09:35:20 AM »
Doh worry... just as Beckham did @ Madrid so too will Ronaldo and Kaka... I really doh understand other than money why Kaka would waste his time at RM.

The thing is RM is a big side (I'll admit) but I think another reason Kaka and Christiano went is because they already conquered their respective leagues and played in 2 CL finals and won one each. They have nothing to prove in Italy and England again so move on while you are young and still in your prime.

Football / Re: The bigger side: Real Madrid vs. Manchester United

Because Man U has more titles than Real since 92 doesnt mean they are the bigger side. Is Jabloteh  the bigger side over DC United? I don't know....It cud be that the level of opposition that Jabloteh faces is not as tough as the level DC United faces....Maybe the depth of the league is stronger in the MLS....maybe, I'm not sure......

Also I think it is insulting to say Man U won a treble this yr...Treble is referred to as your league, domestic cup and CL...no one else in Europe plays a league cup....dat is just another way to make some money..it might be better to say they won three trophies, but to say treble might be misleading.

Football / Re: Noel's Petrotrin exile continues
« on: May 27, 2009, 06:07:12 PM »
Well u can look at this scenario in both ways......Players are accustomed to playing a certain position for a number of years and if the are asked to play out of position when in their prime, they for the most part may not like the idea. Some players play out of position and some choose not to. Gallas is a natural CB but his last season and a half at Chelsea he was asked to play as a LB, he played it but then he got tired of it and demanded he go to a new club unless he can play as a CB. Rivaldo is another player who refused to play on the left and was put on the bench by Van Gaal. Players on the other hand like Henry who complained on playing on the left but eventually came around because he wants to play.......Also I think that Trent is on the wrong side of 30 and he has a 1yr contract. maybe he knows that playing another position may not be good for his trade value......and we dont know under what circumstances as to why he was put in the dog house and this is no reason to say this is why he didnt play for the national team. No need to attack a man's character like that. So Darryl roberts in the dog house for the national team, does that mean he swell headed too?

i keep saying this. no one man in the world can mark messi. it takes 3. seriously it does. barca fan or not  chelsea  tried their best to get atleast 2 players close to him at all times

I counted 3 on most possessions that he had and he was still not hustled off the ball.  Barca had to make alot of adjustments w/notable absences and though they had most of the possession, being pegged back early by Essien's beautiful strike and Chelsea being able to sit back and soak up their attacks lead to practically nothing in the final 1/3, coupled w/the fact that Alves truly looked like Evans Wise as someone pointed out earlier.  That said, big teams find ways to do it, tough luck on the no calls but as pointed out earlier as well the same can be said about the 1st leg, all roads lead to Rome, looking forward to an exciting final.

PS:  Curious to see who will slot in the RB and LB positions

I think Puyol will play RB and Sylvinho the LB...I would prefer Yaya going back in the midfield but I dont think it would be wise to put Caceres as the CB in the final. Busquets or Keita will compliment Iniesta and Xavi and Henry coming back as LF.......I wonder if Fergie is going to use the same strategy he used against us last yr?
