Any of you guys friends with him on Facebook by any chance as apparently he has said on there he wants to come back to Swansea?

Anyone able to confirm?

Yes, his status said "Swansea I'm ready to come back home do something."

Thank you.  That confirms what I've heard elsewhere.  Massive news for us if it comes off  :praying:

All the best  :chilling:

We couldn't afford the £750k in the summer but hopefully we'll be able to get him on loan for the rest of the season and he'll fire us to the promised land of the Premier League.

He's all we're missing now.

...you've got to sack that manager of yours.

I can't believe for one second that he actually goes out and watches your players when they are playing their club football so he can see their strengths and weaknesses  :o

Good luck for your next game and take care of Scotland.  :peace:

Am thinking you guys......were gonna make it .When Jason joined you last year ,where was the team in the standings NeathJack ?
And if he continues this thing hes doing ,when u make it... hes gonna take u rite up to the top 5 in the Prem  ;D

He signed for us before the beginning of last season when we were in League 1.  He's scored 44 goals in 1 1/2 season for us.  Not bad at all  ;D

Apart from Scotland, we've got the best young manager in the country in Roberto Martinez who knows how to get the absolute best out of him.

Hi guys.

Scotland is outstanding for us at the moment and has scored something like 12 in his last 12.  On Saturday we play Premiership side Fulham at home in the 5th round of the FA Cup and it'll be a good test for him, and all out players.  It's being covered live on tv here in the UK and in the US so you may be able to get it there.

As for his ability to play in the Premiership, I have little doubt about it.  But I honestly believe his only chance to prove himself there will be with us getting promoted.  Premiership clubs are reluctant to gamble on players from the Championship when they can get players of similar ability from abroad for a lower transfer fee.

But the way we're going at the moment, he may well be up in the Premiership with us next season.

Here's hoping  :)

Football / Jason Scotland report and interview
« on: October 05, 2008, 03:58:20 PM »
Hi guys, I thought you might be interested in this report and interview with Jason Scotland after his man of the match performance in our 3-1 win over top of the table Woverhampton Wanderers yesterday.

All the best  :)

Scotland backs Martinez judgement.
BBC Sports.

Jason Scotland rediscovered his form as Swansea beat Wolves.

Jason Scotland praised manager Roberto Martinez's judgement after the striker returned from an enforced rest to fire Swansea to a 3-1 win over Wolves.

The Trinidad and Tobago international scored two goals, had a shot cleared off the line and hit the crossbar.

"It was a great result," Scotland said. "I got two goals - back from a rest - and just delighted for three points.

"I've just come back from an operation and my legs have been a bit weary so the gaffer decided to give me a rest."

Swansea were humbled 4-0 at Reading last week, but returned with a midweek win at Preston where Scotland was left out of the side.

"But he returned for Saturday's Liberty Stadium test against a Wolves side that started the afternoon top of the Championship table.

Scotland was League One's top scorer last season as the Swans romped to promotion.

But the 29-year-old had scored just one league goal this season - the winner at Plymouth in August - before Saturday having struggled for form and fitness following a summer stomach operation.

"I came back fresh against Wolves and got two goals, so it was a good decision to give me a rest!" Scotland added.

"As a player you want to play every game, but it's up to the manager to assess us and he would say he assessed me right... we win on Tuesday and I come in and we win (against Wolves)."

Now manager Martinez has challenged Scotland to carry on finding the net after taking his season's tally to three.

"Can he be a goalscorer in the Championship? Yes, I can guarantee you he has got the ability and talent to do that," said Martinez.

"But it's down to Jason to take this performance and take his playing on to a different level this season."

Swansea were ahead after just 25 seconds, as Jordi Gomez cut past a sleeping defence to fire in a low shot.

Wolves levelled when Andy Keogh drilled a shot past keeper Dorus de Vries.

But then Scotland took over, a one-two with Gomez saw him beat the offiside trap to restore Swansea's lead, before the striker darted into the box in the second half to score.

Thanks for the replies guys.

One thing though, if you're not going to play him on Wednesday any chance you can send him back early as he's needed for a big game away to Crystal Palace on Saturday and we don't want him jet lagged!!  ;)

Good luck against the USA  :)

Football / Jason Scotland Thread
« on: September 08, 2008, 01:32:49 PM »
Hi guys.

I'm a Swansea City fan from Wales, UK.  I'm just wondering why Jason Scotland didn't appear for you on Saturday?  He's been superb for us since joining in the summer of 2007 scoring 29 goals last year and is already off the mark this season.

Any reason why he's not in the team?

Also, good to see Big Dennis Lawrence getting some game time as he's not played for us this season as we've bought new centre backs.
