Football / Saints International Masters Tournament - Tobago Sept 2010
« on: November 15, 2009, 10:09:54 AM »
Good Morning All ...
Just wanted to spread the word out there ... the organizer is Barry Roach.  Below is his recent email to a couple of the CIC guys ...  Mods my apologies ... not sure if i am breaking any of the forums rules ...

In celebration of our 15th anniversary...

We are hosting an International Masters Football Tournament in Tobago from September 16th-20th 2010.
This is a strictly 40 and over tournament, a player must be 40 on or before December 31st 2010.
It is recommended that teams comprise no more than 25 players.
We hope to attract 16 teams, 8  or more teams must be from outside of Trinidad and Tobago, 4 from Tobago and 4 from Trinidad.
The actual football tournament will comprise 3 playing days, September 16th, 17th and 19th.
There will be 4 groups of 4 to progress to a knockout phase.
There will be an official rest day on the Saturday, what we call the tourist day.
We plan to arrange trips to the Nylon Pool and Buccoo Reef and a party on the Saturday night.

We propose to offer various packages to the foreign teams in particular. These packages will include:-

TRANSPORT
Transport from Trinidad to Tobago (Ferry or Plane)
Return Ground Transport from Airport to Hotel/Guest House.
Ground Transport from Hotel/Guest House to football venue.
Very competitive rates for personal car rentals can also be arranged.

ACCOMMODATION
We have secured the use of a 165 person guest apartment complex right on and overlooking the famous Store Bay Beach Facility.
Our aim is to keep as many teams together to create and maintain a  continuous lime on and off the field.
We can also arrange medium to high-end accommodation for those who can afford it.

FOOD
All meals (breakfast, lunch and buffet style dinners) will be provided for on a timely basis from the time you land\dock to the time you depart.

OTHER
Also note that the FIFA Women's Under 17 World Cup will be hosted by Trinidad and Tobago during September 5th-25th. As such, travel arrangements have to be made very early so don't stick get through it out to your teams and get them interested. I am depending on you guys to help us attract some foreign sided. It doesn't have to be Caribbean teams, it could be anyone and encourage them to bring their families.

COST
Exclusive of airfare to Trinidad, we figure around $400-$500 USD per person is more than enough and it could be cheaper.

NETWORK
If you are in contact with any other CIC men living wherever in the world spread the word.

Thanks
PS. I will furnish you with further details soon.
