Happy Holidays everyone.
Allyuh I had the pleasure to spend the entire Christmas and New Year holidays in La Horguetta Arima, the biggest housing "development" in the Caribbean. While there I was asking the youths on the block about life in Trini. I was not suprised at the same answers....no jobs..no jobs..no jobs.everyone said, but right now Trini has so many construction jobs it ain't funny. Anybody will tell you the hardest thing to find over the holidays was a joiner or a honset one day labourer. Imagine a place as big as Lahorquetta, has one developed football feild, but the grass is so damm high that there is a track going through it.....the reason??? the tractor to cut the feild has no gas and the blade bend!!! All I am saying the if you provide the youths with a oppurnity and resources to play ball, they will, at least it would have pull a few youths out of crime.
Secondly while there I realised that the youths do not go to church as much as they used to...I could remember the sweetest girls used to be in church, they still are but, them boys just are on another head.
Hands down Trinidad is the best place in the world right now and hopefully with the WC it could encourage Govt to keep the feild cut. That is all I want from being in the world cup.
ps. the boy who won the olympic medal in swmming...the the govt keep their promise?
