General Discussion / "Doubles"
« on: October 16, 2023, 11:24:59 AM »
Can anyone tell me how to make the the wrap for the chick pea(channa curry),i can make this but the wrap which I know is called "bara",I don't know the recipe, could anyone give me an idea.
I have stopped eating rice and was told that chick peas, and "green figs" are good to reduce blood sugar.I said green fig as we do in Trinidad, hopefully you know I mean green bananas. My blood sugar was so high but after eating 3 sometimes 4 boiled "green figs" a day my blood sugar has gone down to normal,I got readings of 19,20 etc,now I get 9, and sometimes 10 which is acceptable. Thanks for any help.

General Discussion / An old Calypso...
« on: February 20, 2023, 08:39:54 AM »
My father always bought Calypsoes and I recall one which was very funny,I don't know the title but I remember the first line,it went like this;"Ah smartman name Johnathan make he wife Lillian take out an Insurance Policy, was to fool de Insurance Company, she make em go and lie dong in bed and get a quack docto r to say he dead,in the wake they drink rum and coffee, and started to shout out this melody, doctor say yuh dead Johnathan please close yuh eyes Johnathan".
Does anyone knows the tune and could you tell me who sang it,also I suspect the title of the song will be important. Thanks in advance.

Football / New blood...
« on: January 31, 2021, 09:04:40 AM »
That's the way to go TF,why stick with the players who have brought TT nothing but woe, time to "DUSSOUT".I cannot help but recall how supporters were asking for a new start, well we got that now and what a brave move, win or lose.I am sure TF will be looking for positives and hopefully find 2 or 3 "rough diamonds" who will join the five or six sure starters, could be more.

General Discussion / TT so good?
« on: July 02, 2020, 08:51:07 AM »
Why those people always rioting, burning the place dong, getting killed by the police, are they the most deprived people in Trinidad and Tobago.Does the Government know that those people are their most faithful supporters, why haven't the government done anything for them over 60 years.Did they think a f**king swimming pool will solve their problems, those people must show the government, just once that they are fed up and give their vote to someone else,if not don't vote at all. They have been pissed on for 60 years.

Football / TT teams...
« on: December 03, 2019, 11:37:28 AM »
I remember TT teams of years gone by with players who either had French surnames,Portuguse or Spanish surnames,I wonder if anybody can say any TT team with the most such names.

Football / Indian Football.
« on: December 26, 2018, 07:44:03 AM »
I was just reading that with the addition of 48 teams for the FIFA WC 2026 that India may qualify, but it's not just because more teams are involved that India may just make it.Seems like their football is improving steadily and to prove the point they recently won the Intercontinental Cup,teams involved were India,New Zealand,Kenya and Chinese Taipei, nobody would have expected that, not us Trinis anyway,I make that judgement by some posts I read here about Indian football.A point I would like to make is the following of football in TT as compared to India...Stadiums in India are almost filled, and support for football is growing steadily. With that sort of enthusiasm,Indian football could equal or even surpass cricket, one billion people, who knows what India can unearth in the next 10 years, our footballers can now feel it's worth it to take contracts with Indian teams in years ahead,BTW their last FIFA Standing was 97 another big surprise.
Well done India!
We have more talent than India but we are stagnant, always having problems with money, players or management, always owing money to coaches or players,we are best at organising chaos.

Football / England's Afro Caribbean Heritage footballers.
« on: July 11, 2018, 10:52:29 AM »
You can't help but notice the amount of footballers on the England team of Afro Caribbean Heritage. It is hard to understand why countries like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago especially, cannot produce players with quality to even get them at clubs abroad.Shouldn't countries like the 2 I've pointed out be producing top class young men to take their football to a very high level, look at where England sits today, and there's about 8 players with Afro Caribbean heritage.Spend some money on the yutes man,get some good bloody coaches.

Football / Renato Sanches!!
« on: July 01, 2016, 02:58:29 AM »
I hope our young players are looking at this 18 year old,i haven't seen a Mid Field player like him in years,he's got energy for 2 or 3 players. It's not long before he is the best in the world,he may even be the best already.Hart should make TT players watch him,and make our yutes look at the tapes of him.

Football / Riyad Mahrez.
« on: December 20, 2015, 02:29:55 PM »
From obscurity to second highest scorer in the EPL,originally from Algeria and played in France before coming to Leicester for spit. You won't think much looking at him,but he's is now scheming at the highest level.

Cricket Anyone / Shannon Gabriel!!!
« on: September 10, 2013, 03:19:15 AM »
Who was it that was responsible for picking him to go to the Champions League in India,it's not that they didn't have nuff proof that he wasn't suited for that kind of cricket. He is not a limited overs cricketer and never will be,he has no brain,he runs up to bowl like he's been programmed like a robot.I saw him in Lords and we all felt we've found a fast bowler but as usual we were fooled again by one good performance, please leave him in TT and take a batsman or maybe someone like Slo Mo,you surely cant play him against those specialist 20/20 batsmen who will devour him and put us in a losing position from the start.

Cricket Anyone / I had a dream.
« on: August 20, 2013, 06:35:22 AM »
I am not one who ever dream about sports or anything else but I dreamt that I was reading the internet cricket news and saw the headline"Hafeez knocks Hawkbills out".When I got up the following day after the match I checked the internet to see how Amazon did because I knew it was an important match and would affect how Red Steel would go.I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the exact headline on the internet..."Hafeez knocks Hawkbills out",since then I've been trying to dream the result of Red Steel vs Amazon Warriors but nothing so far.
I remember looking at the match up until the 11th over when Hafeez came in and I thought, thats it we cyah win again so I went to bed, imagine my surprise when I got up and saw my dream exactly, word for word.Ah wonder if I'm getting physic powers,I'll let everybody know what I dream before the match, that is if ah dream ah dream.

Cricket Anyone / TTs CL Team 2013.
« on: May 13, 2013, 01:10:17 PM »
India will be putting out 3 teans for the upcoming 2013 CL,we could easily be without Pollard,Bravo and Rampaul, there is every likelihood that those could be the first 3 teams in any order. We can take satisfaction that KKR is out so we can have Narine, without batsmen we are not really going to challenge any team so Bravo and Pollard is to big a loss.

Cricket Anyone / Unfair to TT.
« on: October 11, 2012, 09:15:11 AM »
I hope India never win another cricket match for the next 20 years for the shit they have foisted on the TT cricket team.TT was the team of the tournament when they first went to India and almost won the CL,in their second attempt they again showed that they can stand up and fight to the very last ball, bad captaincy caused their exit.
It is totally unfair to judge a team by one match which is what happened to TT,a fairer judgement would be to put the six teams in one group and each play one another,as I've said I hope India gets facked whenever they play the game of cricket, anywhere, anytime, against anybody. >:(

Cricket Anyone / Nicholas Sookdeosingh!
« on: June 04, 2012, 12:53:29 PM »
Seems like we have found another 20/20 cricketer and I'd like to ask the question, where has he been all this time.He has out batted KP in the recent 20/20 festival and that alone should put him in our team for the team to India later this year for the ICL.
PS. Note I did not say he was better than KP.

Cricket Anyone / TenTrinis for camp.
« on: March 01, 2012, 05:13:04 PM »
I know there are idiots running West Indian cricket but why do you hold a camp with an important competittion taking place among the countries of the Caribbean. This competittion serves better than any camp, wouldn't it be better to wait until after the completion of competition to hold a camp, and even if there is no time for this camp playing competitive cricket counts more than a bloody camp.
These clowns who run cricket have spoilt a a great match up between the 2 best teams in the Caribbean,it would have been nice to see Narine against some better batsmen than he has seen so far.I have to say though that TT should have good enough bench to give a good account of themselves, in the meantime could somebody send the WICB an Almanac,be quick though coz they could f**kup again coz they are a bunch of big-headed TWATS.

Cricket Anyone / I saw that beating coming.
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:16:51 PM »
How de hell you can go into a 4 day match against Bim with one top line spinner,to add to the problem we lost probably the best pace bowler over the last year in Rampaul, surely another out and out spinner would have been a better choice may be Badree or Shanga and I dont agree with people saying he is a LO player. We know Bim are efficient at playing pace but weak against spin and both Shanga and Badree should have played in place of Alert and Khan,I also do not understand this love affair the selectors have with Guillen. The big mistake was the selectors stupid idea that Narine would blow them out but it doesn't work so,Narine needs support and there was none from the other bowlers. We do have an excuse though and that is we batted with 8 and had half a keeper but all the same our team selection was bad real facking bad.

I was reading a conversation where a person told another that he looked like a Trini, this was said by an Indo Trini to an Afro bloke. The conversation didn't eventually say where he was from but he questioned...what does a Trini look like.I can honestly say that I have worked that out many times even before I speak to a Trini and several times people have asked me whether I am Trini although they dont hear an accent to judge.I can say that Trini Afros look different from say other Caribbean Afros,Africans and Afro Americans, maybe there is a different mix which the others dont have, whenever I see a Dougla I am almost sure that they are Trini or Guyanese.Trini Indos also look different from Indians and Guyanese Indos, what kind of a phenom is this.I was once on the train and was talking to this bloke who I recognised as actor who did many shows on TV,his name Jeffrey Kissoon when I told him I was from TT he said he thought so.

Cricket Anyone / Enough of Barath.
« on: January 19, 2012, 04:25:26 PM »
Barath has had his chances and has failed to deliver it is time to give him a long rest,he has found ways of getting out when he shouldn't.I've seen enough of him and he has quite a bit to learn,he is batting against the weakest team and finds a way to get out...run out against Canada,no need fuh dat...STOOPID.

Cricket Anyone / Fifth ODI..we wuz robbed.
« on: December 11, 2011, 12:14:32 PM »
Congratulations to KP and his first ODI century hopefully there are more to come but more important was the fact that we should have won after such a brilliant performance by KP and Russel.Samuels and Ramdin was blatantly not out and Ramdin was really looking safe and settled,Simmons decission was also very doubtful, anyway there are good signs from our boys. The Indians even want the dregs off the facking table, greedy so and so.

23
Cricket Anyone / Navin Stewart
« on: August 31, 2011, 05:45:52 AM »
TT selectors may live to regret not picking Navin Stewart for the Airtel Championships in India starting in September,he is a proven 20/20 player and should be in before Emrit or Gabriel.Ramdin has not stepped up since his recent demise and is a wasted selection when Perkins,Bravo and Simmons can keep, surely another allrounder like Kanhai, another bowler or batsman would be a better option than Ramdin.

Football / Meniscal Tear.
« on: July 27, 2011, 05:08:49 PM »
I know quite a lot of the blokes on this site are sportsmen but have any of you ever suffered a 'meniscal tear' in the knee, many sportsmen do get it,how well do they recover and do they ever get back into sports.I am having my right knee done on the 9th August and hope I can get back to my sports.I was kicked on my knee in 2005 but carried on with my activities and it just got worse.Would like to hear from anyone.

Jokes / Smart Trini.
« on: June 29, 2011, 02:57:32 PM »
An American,Englishman and aTrini was sailing on a big boat when the Devil suddenly appeared, the Devil then challenged them to throw something in the sea and if he found it he will eat that person. The challenge started to avoid being eaten by the Devil so the Englishman threw a bit of gold, the Devil dived in found it and ate the Englishman, the American chucked in a bit of Platinum, the Devil dived in found it and promptly ate the American. The Trini turn came and he threw in a glass of water saying at the same time,"now find dat yuh phukking cornt, yuh tink we Trinis chupid". :)

Cricket Anyone / Kraigg Braithwaith not ready.
« on: May 24, 2011, 02:38:39 AM »
Windies selectors made an error in selecting KB to open the innings,I can understand the plan for moving forward but some situations are just not right to introduce youth. This was always going to be a difficult situation even for the experienced player,KB is no Adrian Barath,he is special and has dominated regional cricket from the age of 16,KB HAS HAD ONE SEASON AT REGIONAL LEVEL AND WAS TOO INEXPERIENCED.
When he next walks to the crease if selected against India his mental strength would be tested to the limit, another failure could haunt him for a while,Ganga was a typical case in point.Keep KB away from tests for at least another season but have him on the A team.

Football / QPR going up.
« on: May 07, 2011, 05:16:32 AM »
Just heard on the 12 o clock news that QPR will not be deducted points and will be promoted to the EPL.I remember that when I first lived in England I lived opposite the stadium on Loftus Rd.I remember seeing Stan Bowles who was full of skills...like a brazillian.They(QPR) do have the 8th richest man in the world in their corner...,Lakshmi Mittal,must be good for QPR future.The list of rich owners in England are as follows;
LAKSHMI MITTAL £18.5 BILLION QPR
SHEIK MANSOUR  £17 BILLION MC
ROMAN ABRAMOVICH £7.8 BILLION CHELSEA
JOEL LEWIS £2.5 BILLION TOT.
STAN KROENKE £2.7 BILLION ARS
MIKE GLAZER  £1.5 BILLION MU
B.ECCLESTON  £1.4 BILLION ARS
ALISHER USMANOV £1.3 BILLION ARS
LORD GRANTCHESTER FAMILY 1.2BILLION Evt.
I hope their is a Trini that QPR may buy in the next season when they are in the EPL.

Cricket Anyone / No Jamaicans.
« on: April 30, 2011, 06:31:30 PM »
Its amazing that Jamaica have been champions for 4 years runing but still cannot produce a young player capable of playing for the Windies.I feel sure that had Jamaica adopted the same approach like TT they proabably wont be winning so regular but may produce some good youngsters like TT,it seems their only interest is in winning the championships with older players who have nothing to offer Windes in the future.Jamaicans have always seen themslves as the buzz of the Caribbean and would do anything to win, even it  means virtually no good to the rest of the Windies. The rest of the region s trying with some youngsters and its working,Bim has given us Kirk Edwards,Kraigg Braithwaith (who will soon play) and Roach,Guyana Bishoo and Deonarine,WI and LI have Martin,Powell,Fletcher and Thomas, that says it all. I suppos next year they wil be back with the same old used up old men who will be to good for the youngsters they come up against but would be of no use to aybody else.

General Discussion / The Afro Trini.
« on: April 03, 2011, 01:32:58 PM »
I read a report once where it was stated that 70% of the Caribbean Afro have some white blood,I wonder what the next 50 years will be for the Afro Trini.Whenever I am in TT I am always surprised at the amount of Dooglars I see, sometimes I cant tell if some people are Indos,Afros or Dooglars.I suspect the Afros will become much less Afros than they are at the moment,it could be a sort of "ethnic cleansing" in a non political way.Afros would slowly be a thing of the past and dooglars would be in,surely that would be a good thing,it would be nice to know the dooglar population of TT.
MORE DOOGLARS PLEASE,might be better for the future of TT.

General Discussion / 500grms of MJ.
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:55:32 PM »
I would like to know what 1lb of MJ looks like, so to -morrow I would pick some stems with leaves of trees in my garden and put them to dry.I would pick from trees that looks closely like MJ,I really would like to know, why those cricketers  had so much,$6000 was too dam much.I have to believe now that all the shooting and killing is a result of the drug problem in TT and Morvant and Laventille stands out quite large.Where were they caught again,ah think it was Morvant.
