Ok guys so the tournament is about to start in a few days time and I feel we should give our young lads some support. The team look pretty good, I know some of the youngsters but not all. The little research I have done these guys have some good stats, and their aim is to be the first U19 to bring the trophy back home. We were beaten finalist in 2004 when we played Pakistan, Xavier Marshall, Ravi Rampaul, Denesh Ramdin among others was on that team. This time around this is the team:

Shamarh Brooks (c)     Players to watch for us: Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo, Sharmarh Brooks, Kyle Corbin, Devon Thomas, Jason Dawes,
Devon Thomas (wk)   Veerasammy Permaul. These I specially mentioned because their names were mentioned on the ICC site.
Kieran Powell             I personally know about Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo - Darren can bat better than Dwayne and Shamarh Brooks.

I like this youth and yes I from SOuth but talent is talent and the youth impress me with what I have seen thus far. He big, he strong, he quick and has an eye for goal. Matter of fact he is the Leading scorer in RBTT Intercol with 9 goals to his name. This youth reminds me of Kenwyne Jones all the attributes. I believe that this youth would make it BIG!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE LET US NUTURE OUR TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FEEL HE WOULD BE THE NEXT BIG STAR FROM T&T!!!!!!!!!!!! CHECK OUT HIS GOALS AT http://www.schoolsoccernet.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

Roy Keane reckons Sunderland’s fans are starting to see the
best of Kenwyne Jones.
Jones was outstanding against Arsenal last weekend - his
performance at the Emirates Stadium even earned praise from Gunners
Boss Arsene Wenger.
And Keane believes the Trinidad and Tobago striker will be an
important player for the Black Cats this season .Keane said: Kenwyne’s getting fitter and stronger and
I believe there is more to come from him.
Kenwyne has spent the last few weeks on the training pitch
and it shows. When he first got here he had one or two injury
problems. It is always nice for a striker to get goals and he has
another one under his belt, it will do him good. Kenwyne has a physical presence – that’s something we lacked. I spoke to the Arsenal manager after the game and he
was very complimentary about a lot of our players and particularly
Kenwyne. We need a fit and strong Kenwyne if we are going to have a
Good season.

Durham 252 (Benkenstein 114, Mascarenhas 4-33) and 114 for 2 (Coetzer 12*, Plunkett 2*) lead Hampshire 115 (Brown 56*, Gibson 10-47) by 251 runs

Ottis Gibson, the Durham and former West Indies fast bowler, became the 79th bowler in first-class cricket to take all ten wickets today when he single handedly dismissed Hampshire for 115.

Gibson, 38, becomes the first player to manage the feat since Debasish Mohanty in 2000-01, and first player in county cricket since Richard Johnson took 10 for 45 for Middlesex in 1994.

On eight wickets today, he was made to wait, rather inevitably by the rain, before he had David Griffiths caught behind and then bowled James Bruce for a first-ball duck to claim figures of 10 for 47.

Gibson is enjoying a new lease of life since joining Durham in 2006 - his third county in what has been a nomadic career - and struck a magnificent 155 to keep his side in the top flight last season.

Gibson's heroics earned Durham lead of 137, although Michael Brown also achieved a note of personal distinction as he carried his bat for 56. A maiden first-class fifty from Mark Stoneman then extended Durham's lead to 251, but no one was going to take the focus off Gibson.

Cricket Anyone / West Indies start well in Warm up against Kenya!!!
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:36:31 PM »
West Indies sealed a 21-run victory over Kenya after Marlon Samuels smashed a century in a World Cup warm-up match at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium in Jamaica. Samuels shrugged off recent allegations of passing vital team information to an Indian bookie on his side's last tour of the subcontinent to hit seven fours and two sixes before he retired on 100, as West Indies set Kenya 269 to win.

A handful of the Kenyan batsmen got starts, but no one was able to carry on and the visitors were restricted to 247 for 7. Collins Obuya struck an unbeaten 54 to top score for Kenya, Ravindu Shah supported with 41, the captain Steve Tikolo made 34 and Tanmay Mishra got 22.

Kenya suffered a setback in the third over when David Obuya was caught at first slip for 7 off Daren Powell, who also had Maurice Ouma caught in the same position for 9, leaving Kenya at 40 for 2. Corey Collymore then bowled Malhar Patel for 12 in the 15th over before he deceived Shah with a slower ball and had him caught at mid-on. Obuya put on 55 for the seventh wicket with Thomas Odoyo, who collected 24, to beef up the Kenyan total.

The Kenyans were unable to control West Indies' scoring, as Samuels exploded in the latter stages to boost West Indies to 268 for 6. After Shivnarine Chanderpaul was caught at second slip off Thomas Odoyo for zero in the third over, the left-handers Chris Gayle and Devon Smith added 58 to provide some momentum.

Gayle reached his half-century before trying to reverse-sweep and was bowled for 75 off 90 balls, which included nine fours and a six. Samuels emerged from an uncertain start and reached his century when he guided Lameck Onyango to third man for a single. He left for the dressing room immediately to give the teenager Kieron Pollard (14) a chance

Well Look thing - Samuels look like he in some form, Gayle as well, lets hope this continues Below is the score card!!!!

Football / Extent of Carlos Injury Unclear!!!
« on: March 04, 2007, 01:29:04 PM »

Carlos Edwards will undergo furthur investigation to determine the extent of his shoulder injury. Edwards, injured at West Brom yesterday appears to be a doubt for Sunderland's next game at Barnsley next weekend. Sunderland's physio Peter Friar said " Carlos has disruption to his AC joint and this will require furthur investigation over the coming days.
Edwards has been a key player for Sunderland since moving to the Stadium of Light from Luton for 1.5 million pounds in January. Boss Roy Keane said " It is a big disappointment. Carlos has been good for us and fingers cross to him.

I know people love sources and this was taken from Sunderland's website under latest news.

Football / Birmingham Fc vs Leeds & Championship Standings
« on: February 27, 2007, 06:41:49 PM »

Well Birmingham Fc beat Leeds today at their ground 1-0 which puts them on top the table in the Championship with 64 points, 2nd is West Brom Albion with 63points and third is Derby Fc with 63, and Sunderland in 4th position with 60 points. The thing is that the points that Sunderland have (60) comes from 35 games, the points that West Brom have (63) comes from 35 games as well as the points that Southampton have (59) is from 35 games whereas Birmingham (64) points gathered it from 34 games, Derby as well (63) gathered also from 34 games so both Birmingham and Derby have a game inside to equal the others in the top 5. So if they continue to win their games it will be a small lead but a lead none the less so we have to hope for some upsets with Birmingham and Derby and we (Sunderland and Southampton) Trini Representatives have to beat our opponents. General Discussion / Ronald Bisnath man charged with killing teenage boy
« on: November 02, 2006, 01:10:54 AM »

Sick twisted man gets a taste of how it feels to be on the receiving end, beaten severly by inmates who said they have little tolerance for people that commit vicious sex crimes, apparantely its a disgrace to the inmates. So he got some blows read this article found in Today's Express.

Ronald Bisnath in the holding cell outside the Chaguanas Magistrates Court yesterday. He is charged with the killing of 13-year-old Parmanan Persaud.

Hours after being taken to prison, Ronald Bisnath, the man accused of the murder of Central teenager Parmanan Persaud, was himself the victim of a vicious attack in what appeared to be an act of prison justice.

Bisnath had earlier appeared before a Chaguanas magistrate, and was remanded into custody at the Golden Grove Remand Prison in Arouca.

Shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday, three prisoners with improvised weapons unleashed their rage on Bisnath after he was processed in what is called the "centre area" of the prison.

Last night, an inmate at the remand yard told the Express, via a mobile phone call, that Bisnath was stabbed about his face and body.

"He was beating up on the ground. He lost plenty blood. They deal him real brutal," the prisoner said.

Another prisoner, who also called in later on, said inmates had little tolerance for persons accused of vicious sex crimes.

"Anybody charged with that kinda allegation looking to get a taste of their own medicine," he said.

"Breaking the law is one thing, but that was degrading. That's when someone sick in their head, that's how prisoners look at them, and there's no coming back for them. So they deal with them one time."

Bisnath was taken to the Prison's infirmary, where he received medical treatment. With his face bandaged and in blood, he was then rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope.

A source at the hospital last night told the Express, about one hour after the attack, that Bisnath also suffered stabs to his chest, but he was unable to offer a prognosis.

Earlier on in the day, Bisnath, who is charged with slitting the throat of Persaud, took a jail cell nap before making his appearance in court.

And while waiting for his case to be heard, Bisnath, 33, yawned and rubbed his head, as he cracked his knuckles, rubbed his hands together and slapped his blue rubber slippers on the floor.

Bisnath, who lived next door to the boy he is accused of killing, appeared before Chaguanas First Court Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde John.

No one related to the victim or accused attended the hearing.

His case was the first to be called and the murder charge read to him. Bisnath, who had no attorney, was remanded to reappear in November 13.

Parmanan, who lived at Crown Trace, Enterprise, was found dead on Sunday in the bathroom/toilet enclosure of a vacant house in the village.

He had been beaten, bludgeoned, his throat was slit, his limbs were chopped, his spine broken and he was sodomised. His teeth were beaten out of his mouth.

Parmanan will be buried today after a funeral service at the home of his aunt, Sita Ramroop.

Ramroop said yesterday:"Although the family is Hindu, we can't bear to see him cremated. His school friends are going to sing for him, and the villagers will say good-bye."

Meanwhile, two prison officers suffered injuries after being attacked by a prisoner on Tuesday, following a fight between the inmate and another prisoner.

Officers Anton Buckmire and Wayne Gibbs were said to be escorting the prisoner to his cell when he pulled away from them, then lunged at the men with an improvised weapon.

Buckmire was cut in his face and had to receive stitches, while Gibbs suffered a cut to his index finger. The Prison Officers Association has been clamouring for frequent thorough searches of the prison.

If this is posted elsewhere be my guest to take it off, we do not need topics recurring on the board. But I just look at livescore just now and could not believe my eyes. Livescore reading a scoreline of 5-2 in favour of the Venezuelans. Could anybody confirm this. That is a shocker, no matter what mexican team. I can't remember the last time I hear a mexican team get 5, and you know this is crunch time because everyday we get closer to Germany. So let me know what allyuh think.

Football / USA vs Japan
« on: February 09, 2006, 12:19:58 PM »

Well Tomorrow Friday the 10 th Feburary USA national football team will be taking on Japan football team in a international friendly in preparation for the World Cup. The match will be aired on ESPN2 at - 8 pm Pacific Time , 10 pm - Central Time , which is about midnight Trinidad and Tobago time. So this match in my opinion will be a much sterner test for the Americans than that Norway team because Japan is in the World Cup and will want to make an early impression as well as the Americans. There may be some reshuffling of the team may see some new faces to dispaly their talent but at the same time both teams will want to win the match. So let me know what you think and what the possible score line may read at the end of the 90 mins.

I'll be rooting for T&T, says Burrell

Observer Reporter
Thursday, November 10, 2005

BURRELL... came under fire for stance against JFF's plans to host Bahrain camp
MOntego Bay - Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and CONCACAF executive Captain Horace Burrell said he will be in Port-of-Spain on Saturday to support Trinidad and Tobago in their first-leg World Cup play-off game against Asian team Bahrain.

The former Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) boss came under fire for his stance against the local federation's alleged plans to host Bahrain for a camp and friendly ahead of the T&T play-off games this weekend and next Wednesday in Asia.

FIFA vice-president and special advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago FA, Jack Warner, said earlier that he had been advised by Burrell that the JFF would have hosted the Bahrain team and would have benefited by earning US$1 million.

The Soca Warriors, who finished fourth in the CONCACAF final round, will play-off against Bahrain, who were also fourth in their World Cup qualifying group, for a place in next year's World Cup Finals in Germany.

Burrell told the Observer yesterday that he would be flying out of the island tomorrow night.

"I'll be in Port-of-Spain on Saturday. In fact, I'll be leaving on BWIA on Friday to get there in time for the game," he said.
Burrell, who was in Montego Bay to announce sponsorship of football in St James and Hanover at a press conference held at the Jamaica Grandiosa hotel, added, "I'm looking forward to being there to give my 100 per cent support to Trinidad and Tobago."

If the twin-island state should emulate Jamaica's feat of qualifying for a World Cup Finals, Burrell said, it would mean tremendous benefits for the entire region.

"Any team that qualifies from the Caribbean region affects positively all the other countries. I can recall when we qualified for the 1998 World Cup that every Caribbean territory told me how very proud they were and therefore, I see no difference in this case should Trinidad qualify.

"I wish them the best and I will be there rooting for them," he added.
