Football / Re: Maylee Attin-Johnson Thread
« on: September 17, 2021, 10:02:00 AM »
I am not questioning her abilities or commitment. She was having same issues with TTFA like the male members. I have spoken to her on many occasions. I am saying that we have serious problems if we have to come back to her an some of the older players.  Everybody were complaining of TT sports not having developmental programs. Berated for not being like JA, etc. Check out ABTrini have a post "recycling vs development".
So if I understand you correctly. We’re not in a dire situation because of Maylee, but had dire problems over years and years of mismanagement, in spite of the Maylees and other older but still presently better players. So your comments then might just be in the wrong thread. If so, no argument there. However it’s something we have known for a very long time ( even pre 2006- over 15 years ago) especially with the women game. Yet, we have games NOW, and have to go with the best we can get, irregardless of who they are. Men and Women. Not until we fix the mentality and loyalty of our ppl and by extension the administrative organizations, it will continue for maybe another 50 years. In most cases sacrifices must be made to be successful at others. TT ppl must learn blessed as we may think, it is not normal to have it all, even if born into all of it.

Wow.... we in dire problems.
Why you say that ? Your seeing a better way forward ? You seeing an incorrect process? You think Maylee not good and shouldn’t be given a chance ? I’m not seeing what you’re seeing. If she is still one of the better players at 40, I would still invite her out. A la Milla et al. Yet if you personally and presently know of better players at this time, who are in a position to attend regular Ntl team practices, enlighten us, so we may suggest so to avoid the dire problems that you forsee, which we weren’t in before. Listening!

I am not sure if Angus going to last, especially if he does not get the resources from the NC. Like I posted in the WC 2022 thread, the next WC after Qatar will be extremely difficult to qualify. Three teams have already qualify because they will be hosts. US, Mexico an Canada will be hosting the tournament. So that means only 2 spots or 1.5 spots will be available. The NC better get their act together.
Who would you consider ever did 'last' ?

why d fuuck we didn' start like this, Eve got this start wrong
yup. I was certain Moore and Joseph would have been on top, Telfer in his wing role. Hacksaw & Molino middle, Powder left (4-4-2) Jones or Williams ,  David, Peters, Hodge.

At least he successfully adjusted the 2 nd half, but chasing the game at this level not easy for anybody.

that El Salvador team looked unsettle d moment we started cuttin out dey channels and closin dey angles, El sal nor Guat does deal with pressing well, yet dem was pressing we all over d park.....we lose two nil and yuh could still see we coulda get ah result if IF we did come out and play man.....dais what hurtin mih d most......
it almost look like the boys were over-trained, didn’t have the same energy as previous games. Guessing he didn’t count on dem scoring 1st with a pro-defensive strategy.
Add: Telfer alone has never been enough up top.

Take the loss and use this game for experimenting. Try switching up the formation. Try players in different positions. See what works. Then use this information to beat El Salvador and Guatemala.

BTW. Guatemala has it out for us. Any fck up, and they go smell blood and punish us.

The Mexico match must be approached like a must-win game because the second position will likely come down to goal differences. Be competitive versus Mexico, then get points from both El Salvador and Guatemala. So, instead of accepting the fate, play to score versus Mexico and force them to allocate resources in the back by fighting for every inch in the midfield and covering the flanks. That is how central American teams are usually able to limit the damages when playing Mexico. They don't just go defensive and hope that Mexico will respect their personal space! :)

If this game versus Mexico is kept at a respectable score, then surviving this group becomes a reality. Guatemala is a weak team. I can see a victory over the Guatemalans. The fight for second place is really between T&T and El Salvador, which is why the game versus Mexico is so important even if it results in a loss.

On a second note, forget everything. Just beat Mexico and everyone else, problem solved! :)
 have seen more unlikely things happen.

:D :D that 6-1 Montserrat lil hype means absolutely nothing now. And we only played a team one gear better in French Guiana

listen to what T&T goalkeeper had to say about T&T performance. I applaud the man for being honest. T&T played shit!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSD7llexjGU

If Frenderup was included by Lawrence, I doubt we would've been in this position.

If we lost the game, I doubt Frenderup would be flying across the Atlantic for future games.

Frenderup now OWNS that spot between the pipes. Phillip and Foncette lucky if they ever play for the NT again.
I hope they keep up their hard work and service cause you never know when they might be needed. Like Shaka and Jack. Supporters could be great or dump on the team, we don’t have to train to talk shit, but all these guys have to show up everyday, work their asses off to face successes or embarrassment and live with their play, good or bad. Thanks for your work guys, now turn it up. Stay healthy, we need you at your best. Good Luck all. Again thanks for the extended run.

Add: wait nah, is Mexico we beating on Saturday, ahready?

Heart attack. .

But it shouldn't have come down to this. Congratulations to the team. A lot of work still needs to get done. Mexico awaits..

FG outplayed us. They deserve the win.

Like I said, these guys under the French system. They may not be Div.1, but they can outclass us on any given day. I am almost sure they were playing dead to ketch cobo alive. They were probably training hell hard and ready for well tail. Angus have some work to do. [\b] He better get it right. Congrats and good luck.

Angus alone ?

Again, tomorrow's game against FG is not a given. DO NOT underestimate this team. Win this game and we are in GC. If we can't beat this team, then what is our football worth?

The worth of our football does not hinge on that game. Just look at where we are right now. Look at what has transpired over the last five years.

Wtf. Nutten? No comment ? No defense? Just another day in TT ?

Defense yuh want? Defense yuh getting! Offense and defense without transition.

Sense and nonsense intermingled.
Good Defense, Plenty rolling on the ground feinting injury, plenty kick into the stands, plenty appealing to the ref for a help, even drawing on the stands for backings and support, but definitely no goals let in.  Noticed no mention of the FFF et al partnership team amongst others, maybe they held practice at another ground. Funny was, the attempt at a counter attack, without actually disrupting the facts presented by the manager of the opposing teams. Moving to the sidelines and calling them shithounds would not affect their abilities to penetrate any defense in the long run. As a betting man I feel the GG team will eventually bun, however as is normal for TT some other 'lawbreakers' (bachanal) or team(disruptive element) would most likely invade the field and temporarily, maybe permanently halt the game. Yet, the Rhythm section will manage to keep the vibes going while The Crowd and Media, just take in the new action, like normal. Depending on the length and size of that new event, we may or may not get back to this tournament, or what is cunningly called the Commissioner Cup or The Scholarship DSS.

Wonder if we could get Quentin Tarantino to direct something for we ? Anyway he probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the writers. We need a director of Series.

Remember in his early coaching days who he studied under ? I’m sure he has seen some inkling of light since then. Irregardless, he’s short term. And with Monserrat rise and our state, might be shorter than we would like. Yet, I rather give 1 local a smidgent of experience, than what the TF selections were doing, irregardless of who is to blame or not.

Since TF is being paid anyway ( if contract has to be honoured), can he be re-assigned ? He he doesn’t accept and resigns, then doesn’t that make the contract null and void ? Guess it’s a question for a sport legal team.

Re-assignment could be to technical director department or national scouting, not like it’s cleaning the toilets ( although that’s maybe a more essential and somewhat important job as well).

https://youtu.be/e1lyNt5km8U or Treasure of the Sierra Madre... either way, still don’t have final confirmation... so far, reading that King and Jack are definite casualties ( even if undeserved, can’t wait to hear those stories). But where was the coach, and why didn't he address the obvious undisciplined action (missing player (s)) from any team exercise. The disciplinarian that he is. Why was Jack having to do it, in a public setting? Did Jack draw the short straw ? Why talk of 'lack of fear' and 'respect'. I thought our coach was high on these things.

You have seen the ‘park the bus’ strategy quite a few times as some of us have. What has been the most final results ? Draws, wins or losses ? In my experience and observations, it’s losses, it mostly restrict the amount of goals scored. Maybe different in what you may have observed in lower English leagues.
Secondly, with your experience and observations, what is the strategy(ies) used to counter the ‘park the bus’ scenario. ? Your personal opinion would be welcomed. As a past coach mine would be to attack the weakest panels of the ‘bus’. I imagine you would know how this is done or have an idea how you would have a team do it, given the amount of times you have seen it.

So how could a ex-WC player and long time experienced coach not have an idea or ability to adjust his charges to do what is required, even if they are unable to determine themselves what needs to be done. I propose that is because this coach over the years main strategy is head-butting any obstacles in his way, when sometimes what is required is a cool head and appropriate adjustments.

Moving forward, water under the bridge, let’s see what adjustments are made for our next competition.

Thank you. Pull stones thinks that this Bahamian "park the bus" strategy is some kind of formidable force that once it is implemented, then that's it. . no team can penetrate and move that bus. .

If the Bahamians park the bus strategy was that omnipotent, they wouldnt have lose by 7 to PR. They would have parked the bus after 4 goals.. as there is no way they coming back after conceding 4 goals.

Fenwick did not do his homework for the BAH game. He was complacent thinking that the team will walk through BAH. He did not set up the team based on the event BAH parked the bus. Like maxg said, with Fenwick's experience playing as a defender, his access to professionals players and his coaching, means that he should be able to handle the park bus strategy. Especially if it is from a team like BAH who had players working for Sandals and Royalton pt and ft. Pull stones, do you still think a park the bus strategy coming from a team of hotel boys is what really cost us the BAH game?
if he does think so, then he’s acknowledging the weaknesses of the coach. As you so rightly implied, this wasn’t Chelsea or Italy Ntl team players operating a ptb strategy. These were not the best defenders in the world. They obviously had no real experience or success at it, in previous games. They manage to get it perfect against us ?
As seeker also pointed out, they also on couple occasions caused our goalie to make saves and had a couple shots. Not the usual ‘ptb’ strategy. So is that what confused TF. He was busting his head ( head butt joke) on wondering if they parking the bus or not..so meanwhile what were the instructions.. from my lil tv screen , looked like his previous strategy - “ Come on Lads ! “. But of course I’m wrong cause there had to be more.. whatever it was doh, it wasn’t working the longer the game went..and obviously we ran out of time, before a necessary single goal could be produced.

Look on the bright side. We eh lose ah game!!! But getting back to Hart. We have no outstanding dribblers.

Reminds me of something related:

Remember that marauding goal DL scored when he essentially ran the length of the field? It's interesting to see our CB get dynamic and then pull up the handbrakes because he is worried about cover and because his teammates are static. Back in de day, the player in possession would steups at handbrakes.

We also doh have many dribble conducive or dribble tolerant coaches.
something needed on the day
