Football / Re: St Clair calls up Dennis Lawrence - Guardian Report

Lawerence lard have mercy, Christ have mercy

I can appreciate where you are coming from with a comment like that - it's not so long ago that I was wondering what the hell anybody saw in Big Dennis to sign him for Wrexham.
But this season and last season he's been immense - he has improved no end under Dennis Smith (who was a center-half himself) and tis season has had to be the cornerstone of our defence since Brian Carey got injured.

Don't worry - Big Den won't let you down!

He is getting better every week - when he first came back from in jury he didn't seem to be the player he used to be, but recently his performances have been excellent.

Under Denis Smith he has been asked to defend a lot more and I think his all-round game has improved because of it.

Sorry you're right it was two that Jones scored - outjumped Dennis Lawrence for both.

Sam's workrate was fantastic when he came on against Oldham - to b fair he always works hard - he's just one of those frustrating players that you know can do well, but rarely produces the goods.
He could trip over every ball this week and next week could score a hat-trick!

Football / Why no Dennis Lawrence
« on: March 15, 2005, 06:09:21 PM »
As a Wrexham fan I find it puzzling that Dennis Lawrence hasn't been included in the T&T squad. He is the most improved player at the club and has scored a fair few goals this season.

Any reason for his omission?

Sam deserved his goal as he worked really hard when he came on. He is great as a late replacement.

Sam really looked hungry for football when he came on on Saturday and deserved the goal.
I saw Kenwyne Jones when he scored three for Sheffield Wednesday against Wrexham in January and he looks like a striker on form too.
