I have little to no interest in T&T football these days.  I’m disgusted by, and fed up of the administration of the game in our country.

As a result, I hardly come on this site or make time to check out anything to do with T&T football these days.

That’s not a reflection at all on this site or whether it’s interesting or not.  For me the site is an extremely valuable and much needed resource for everything T&T football and much respect and props go out to Flex, Tallman, and all those involved with keeping it going.  Especially during lean foot all times like these (and the foreseeable future) for our country’s football.

Just my take.

I totally agree. The site or rather Trinidad and Tobago football is dead, the absolute lowest point I have seen the sport in the country.

Isnt it better to play in MLS than Kazikhstan? Very confused about this move

And by the way ...

http://iffhs.de/strongest-national-league-world-2016-spain-since-2010/

Kazakhstan #47
USA #59

ahahahhahah what kinda piss poor list is this. I stop reading it as soon as I see Colombian league above, EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, Portuguese and French League. Fact is MLS is for sure a stronger league than Kazakhstan league that is not even debatable to me. No player from that league you know about has any career of note. While several MLS players have gone on to play in Europe top leagues.  1/3 of the teams in Kazakstan holding numbers like 4000, 6000, 8000 at capacity while all MLS teams double that by both capacity and attendance. The exposure in MLS is also way more. The move is an interesting one but he is going to one of that country's top teams and winning games on a regular would be important for his development. But saying that league is better than MLS makes zero sense especially based off of that dustbin list lol.

Factors you are not considering.

Like ?? What are these factors? Please do tell me a player to come from this league? Sheldon is not the first Trinidadian to go out there. Primus played about 4-5 years out there with another of Kazakhstan top teams and what came of that? Would you say Colombia's league is above the Premier League according to the bogus list you have posted? There is far more evidence suggesting MLS is a superior league.

NB- I am not saying this is bad move for Sheldon

We agree on it's not a bad move for Bateau.

With respect to the other questions, let's start with the most relevant question.

Quote
For the 7th time in raw (sic), the Spanish LA LIGA is the Strongest League in the World for 2016. With Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Sevilla and Atletico de Madrid, the Spanish clubs are on the Top in all continental competitions.

The Colombian PRIMERA A is the big surprise of the ranking with the second place (21th in 2012 and 9th in 2014). The results of Altlético Nacional (number 1 in the World) have a great contribution for this ranking, the Colombian League is so also the number 1 in South America before the Argentina PRIMERA DIVISION. The French LIGUE 1 has a big progression (7th in 2014 and 5th in 2015) with a third place before the German BUNDESLIGA.

The italian SERIE A has the worst ranking since 1991 (8th place) because of no qualification for the quarter finals of the European competitions. The English PREMIER LEAGUE wins a place (7th in 2015, 6th in 2016) and the turkish SÜPER LIG is again in the TOP 10 for the first time since 2009.

In CONCACAF zona, the Mexican LIGA MX is again number 1  before the Costa Rica’s PRIMERA DIVISION and the USA MLS.

In Africa, the tunisian LIGUE 1 is the best league since 2013 before the Egyptian PREMIER LEAGUE and the Maroc BOTOLA.

In Asia, the Republic of Korea K LEAGUE CLASSIC is the best league since 2011 before the Saudi Arabia PRO LEAGUE (second in Asia for the 4th time in raw) and the China CSL, who has a great progression (70th in 2012 , 56th in 2014).

In Oceania, after the change of Australia to AFC, the SUPER LIGUE of Nouvelle Calédonie is for the first time Number 1 before the New Zealand PREMIERSHIP.

TOP 20 : UEFA (14), CONMEBOL (4), AFC (1), CONCACAF (1)

TOP 50 : UEFA (30), CONMEBOL (9), AFC (5), CAF (5), CONCACAF (1)

Let's start there.

I don't know what you mean by let's start here. I read all that before, I am just saying that list is horrible. There are many other lists on the internet that would not have Colombia's league ahead of Serie A, Bundesliga or the Premier League and quite frankly its not even the best in South America, I mean a Colombian team won Copa Libertatores 2 or 3 times max. You just used this bogus list because it has Kaz league above the MLS. We don't need a list at all. Just look at the facts bruv, the majority of players in the Kaz are from Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan has never once qualified for a Euros or a World Cup they are constantly ranked in the 100s, zero of their players play in any of the top leagues and you can't tell me one player to be produced from that league. MLS has produced many a player to play in Europe top leagues and many internationals currently play there, there is no doubt MLS is a stronger league, the only thing you have in support of that is a bogus list. I don't know why you don't like the MLS and fail to give it's fair rating.

A Hot Air article a lot of nothing was said. Depending too much on the government WILL lead to the now inevitable pro league closure.

7
Sam that's a very ignorant statement. First of all why are you letting your personal dislike for John Williams cloud how you judge the new man in charge of football. It's like a Republican disliking Obama from the very start and never praising him independent of what he does. But moving on, what has John Williams done wrong. A structured match fee system is standard throughout the world. Starting 11's get more money, a win is more money than a lost. That is how it is all over the world, and how it should be. The previous TTFA administration was disorganized and understandably disliked by the players. If you were contented with that it just shows how you are both prepared to settle and satisfied with mediocrity. I wish John Williams well even thought I wanted someone else to be the new TTFA president, but I see nothing wrong with what he has suggested. Structuring our match fee system is must and the previous administration have failed badly with paying staff and players. It was under Tim Kee the USA game was played. Where are the match fees and the sponsorship fees from that encounter? I applaud John Williams and all other candidates for stepping up to the plate to try to fix the mess the former administration caused. The funniest line of what you wrote was "Why fix something if it is not broken?" for a man that comes to the site everyday that is so so sad for you to type. Not broken?? Football administration in Trinidad and Tobago, has been embarrassing to say the least.

these people are really stupid. so the ttfa ask for money for the senior team, get the money they requested and proceeded to spend it on other stuff. That cannot be legal. I am sure before the money, they had to say what the money was used for. I am sorry if you support Tim Kee and this madness. Before Sancho was ever the minister the team had been disgusted with the fa.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtEpp6Uo68Y

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejUXWNBxfHs

This is from the players mouth. If you know anyone one the team you will know how much they can't stand tim kee. Those both interview were before Sancho was ever minister of sport. The ttfa cant b dependent on every cent from the government that is not how it works, not at all. If Jamaica can get over a million dollars from Coca Cola why can't we get a dollar from Guardian Life lol. He is by far the worst, TTFA president of all time. What has he done? But ask for money for the government. I have seen us forfeit our nation youth teams, Send a womens team with $500 dollars alone, send the team to Argentina without proper accommodation, Banned from several hotels, send the team to Argentina without a physio while Tim Kee was on the flight. All of this before Sancho was ever there. Open up you eyes people. Forget PNM and UNC if this man is incharge of anything in our beloved country we are in a bad bad place.

10
What did I just read ? We as a public cannot be satisfied with this garbage  :frustrated: :banginghead: , He takes the blame for nothing and uses this to tell us it is the government fault. This has to be an email interview, I can't see this making sense otherwise. This is the man leading our football what a joke.

Bakes at the end of the day you are a blind sheep and everyone here has realized that, so much so, that you and your "sources" have become, quite frankly, a joke. You need to understand that NGC is not the only potential sponsor and also those words are not official, and came straight from Tim Kee's camp. You also need to understand how sad it as as the Mayor of Port of Spain he can't get not one organization in the cooperate world to help, not one, that is as laughable as any of your posts. These people are lazy, and don't do their job and if they were trying I would support, but their efforts are absolutely zero. There was no Sancho when the national team went to South America and the physio was left off the flight, but Tim Kee was most present. There was no Sancho when the team was sent to hotels without beds. There was no Sancho when the players wanted to boycott the CFU final because the staff and players weren't getting paid for months. I am asking what is the TTFA doing to fix these issues? Is their effort simply asking the government for more and more money? That to me just shows they are satisfied with the bare minimum. The government funding along with some sort of sponsorship would improve a lot of things, maybe afford us something world class. Bakes do continue to play your UNC, PNM games, but please take it out of our football, because it is what has gotten us here in the first place.

Bakes again why are you making things political? I understand you don't like the party in power. But you need to understand, the TTFA has a duty to find some funding on their own and not depend on the government for everything. The government is their main sponsor but it is embarrassing that it is their only one. There is a clear reason why no one in the cooperate world wants nothing to do with Tim Kee and Co. For this problem to be solved some effort of getting funding must happen on the TTFA part. They can't just do nothing at all, and expect to get money when they want. No other sporting body has that luxury. If Tim Kee does nothing, and makes no real attempts to get some kind of funding, then what is he there for? What does he do? As the mayor of Port-of-Spain I felt he would have help with some business connections but no one trusts him, no one. This is so different to Sancho who has gotten some sponsorship for the WPL (even though I think this league/tournament won't be successful), but it is an idea he believes in and is making happen. Tim Kee and Co. do nothing month after month, and when funding is required they expect the government to just give just like that. This is not the way our country should operate.
Bakes you go on and on and on about your inside sources, who the hell cares man, did you ever stop and think your inside sources have a certain agenda and also politically blind. As a citizen of this country you cannot be satisfied with the work Tim Kee has done, if you had real inside sources you will know from the players, to the staff no one is satisfied with the work of Tim Kee how he has destroyed our football. Please don't make this a PNM, UNC thing. If Tim Kee was doing anything at all I would have supported him, but he does absolutely nothing and is just one of a host of problems with our sport.

Lol... in a sponsorship meeting, a senior marketing official of the NGC says to the TTFA "we are not interested in sponsoring football, the people who support football doh wear yellow"... but I am the one "making things political"?

A man ask me point blank about the information I'm sharing and how it impacts my "sources" and I respond to him... but you doh care about my "sources".  It wasn't intended for you fella if yuh doh care then ignore it and move along like everybody else.  Not that hard.

I know for a fact that Sancho was involved in the strike. He was in contact with Kenwyne Jones and advise him to make the threat.

And I dont blame him either, someone needed to stand up to the TTFA.

Yes, Sam while what you saying is true........ by saying no sancho, I simply meant he was not the Minister of Sport at the time.

And here comes the usual personal abuse when answers are provided.

What "personal abuse"?  You entered the discussion throwing words around about "hearsay" and "fantasy" when you could have simply just said "that's not exactly correct, this is what was actually asked for".  You are also the one talking about my "source" should have furnished me with since they already had the information.  Save the snide remarks if you know that you're sensitive to snide remarks in return.

Why you tryna make the thing political? It is clear you just don't like the party in power and the fact The Minister involved. But don't let that cloud simple common sense. You are getting simple answers and getting all defensive.

Football / Re: Kevin Molino Thread.
« on: March 08, 2015, 11:59:41 AM »
Here's what I noticed about Orlando's last preseason game against the Dynamos. If their defensive midfielders play against the rest of the MLS the way they gifted the Dynamos those goals, and I mean unforced errors after unforced errors so near their own goal, that midfield is going to get run over, it's going to be a long miserable losing season for Kaka and the Lions. There are a lot of talented and world class players in this league that will punish the Lions if they make those kinds of mistakes. For the Lions fans, who are use to winning, and the players as well, this will be a rude awakening. Kaka won't be able to win by himself. Also, Molino didn't score any goals during the preseason buildup, so he will have to step his game up if Orlando is going to have any chance of winning enough games to even make the playoffs. I think making the playoffs is going to be sort of a stretch going into this their inaugural season in the MLS.
They have faced NYCFC before so they might be able to come away with a win in this opener but after that the going is going to get tougher, that's when Molino must shine like the star player that he is.

Come nah man, what kind of post is this? You clearly never watch a proper MLS season?? Preseason especially in the MLS counts for nothing, absolutely nothing going into the season. I think Orlando has established one of the most competitive squads in the MLS. Rochez who is leading the forward line will take time because of his age. Other than that I think Kevin is more than fine. He had a steller pre season and would start today. Additionally to confirm your whole "lions"(which was said far to repeatedly) post was wild and borderline "fightdown" lol, Kevin did score in preseason and did assist too. So next time you comment, please find out , please know :)

All anton teams fail and hear is a next one. Anton in Otto's ears was a bad idea if u asked me. Otto shoulda have his on staff and i think run things his way

The first signs of a changing tide actually began to appear following the first two qualifiers in September, when several club managers, coaches and owners were openly critical of Pfister, his selections and his tactics. In all my years of covering the sport, this has never happened before. Francisco Maturana, Ian Porterfield, Leo Beenhakker, you name it, no one tied to football dared to publicly question the modus operandi of the men brought here by Special Advisor Jack Warner. It was okay to go after Bertille St. Clair, Stuart Charles-Fevrier or Russell Latapy, the local “temps” drafted in to fill the void in-between qualifying campaigns; but one simply did not challenge the foreigners.

After this i stop reading.........This article is rubbish

Sam sounds very uneducated and football blind. :rotfl: With all talk with no sense behind him which is the sign of a part time football follower. When these uneducated part time followers speak absolute nonsense, one of the reasons Trinidad football is so bad is highlighted. Too many people in this county are like Sam and "think" they follow football but amm they really don't.
"US send a B or a C team???" are u blind? thats a full strength US team. If the world cup was tomorrow that would be the team that going. Donovan was left out for tactical reasons.
And for your info can you remember how bad Trinidad look in the last Gold Cup they went to, plus how bad they look last time they played the US in the US..... Sam ur comments are laughable.
Jamaica, which we should  have a stronger rivalry with{ I argree Small M 100%}, should be supported when they go against they U.S. like how I am sure the majority of  Meryside and London wanted United to beat Barcelona in the Wembley final.
Going back to Sam maybe it was Jamaica with the weaker team.......with out Fuller,Cummings,Gardener, and potential players like Bekford,Z Hinds,Hoilett. Sam is forgetting Jamaica finish 1st in their group conceding no goalss last time T@T was in the world cup they finish dead LAST in there group. I am not a blind football supporter I watch the game, so Sam please stop making ignorant non factual claims like if you dont know football because I want to believe you do.

yourstruly i read alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll your responses and you just proved the poor state of Trindad's sports journalism as you fail to answer any of the points I talked about ....not one .....i hope you know as a journalist you dont have a PR job ......no one is putting fenwick on a pedastal .....the point is fenwick has built a team once and destroyed the proleague normal normal .....and when he did do that ....it was with a young core .....many of which are gone now .....some essential stats have dissapeared ....it is a rebuliding year and all the players you called as being counter productive except viana ammmm was alwaysssss with jabloteh .....your point of how jean led jab past the prelims makes nooo sense as the same San fransico side Jean beat to qualify to the group stage lost by 9 goals this year to a mexican side this year .....yes a 9 goal agg loss .....so how in the hell you could compare Terry's draw to that of Earl ......as i said before there is not one proleague team that would have won last night none .....and as i said before if you followed the league ...well good ....you would know that it was allllways fenwick intention to play with no strikers ......it must be rebuliding ....as there is noooo team with a u 23 back line in trinidad and noooo team with 3 former u 17 players....ala britto ,peltier,cato....

Yourstruly u clearly must nowwwwww start watching pro league to make a comment like Earl Jean's Jab better than Fenwick ..............I fine that comment so stupid but i guess you could only say what you know .....if u followed the league ...u would know Earl jean inherited a championship team and crumbled it ......and the success u tlkin about last year ...was only a victory at home to San Fransico and i know u see how baddddddd dem loss this yea......and a victory against all odds after losing 2-0 in the first leg......after that Earl Jean's Jab lost ALL their group stage games .........Jabloteh losing to Santos aint nothin, there is noooo pro league team that would have won......cuase Santos going to make semi finals just like last year ...normal normal......U have to understand Fenwick after buliding a jab team full of youngsters lost alll of them ......from cornculs ,elton john ,russel ,jamerson, all to ma  pau and along with glen ,cornell and forbes the last time them won the league ....if u followed the league u would KNOW this is a rebuliding year for jab ....and I admire fenwick cuase no other team in the league having a back line full of U 23s and bring on 2 former under 17 ballers ....iin due time fenwick will have dem tickin ...cuase he is the only reeeel coach in trinidad.

Sometimes I wonder if people know Trinidad Football , like every other international team ,Trinidad should play players in form and playing playing for their clubs and who are in season ..... the team that is the current best to me is ....

                                                                       C.Ince
 J.James                                N.Henry                         D. Lawrence                         A.John

C.Edwards                                              D.Yorke     K.Hyland                                        C.Birchall

                                                     K.Jones               J.Scotland

C.Ince .......is Walsall's number 1 no doubt and has being one of the national team's most consisten performers this season.....has not been playing lateley becuase of sister ,but once ok should start

N.Henry - is starter and a leader in the back 4 for USL Puerto Rico Islanders he reached the semi finals of the concacaf league and is with the best USL team in America.....And the USL has show the if not on par it may be better than the MLS

D.Lawrence- not good enough to get playing time at Swansea so he went on lone at Crewe and plays every minute even recently on the goal scoring charts, should still be in the back 4

J.James - With such a defensive fragility it amazes me why he is not on the squad ,has featured at wing back for both Houston and Toronto in the past ,still yet to break into the starting line up .... but he is a dependable player in season and is not Anthony Wolfe even played in the champions league at left back and didnt look out of place

A.john- There is zero depth at this area and not other option .... Akile Edwards is a footballer but is out of season and because of this his play gets worse and worse .....A.John was Miami Fc 's captain last season and was intrumental in all games in defense and rumors have it he is being traded from N.E to DC soon ......and DC is where he played at college

D.Yorke - Despite Yorke's lack of playing time whichs showed in his late game vs el Salvador he is the leader and the best defensive midfielder in the team by miles .....tried de Leon , tried theobald both out of season on failed

K.Hyland - The best and yongest prosepect with  national team and a true example of what playing regular football can do..... prior to leaving Trinidad for Belgium the U-20 international looked out of soughts in his game ....now he is playing week in week out and was probably the few bright spots in the last two qualifiers .

C.Edwards - Now starting to find his stride again ,I think the best of Carlos is still to come this campagin ,he is now playing 90 mins games at sunderland and is no longer a substitue. His confidence is growing and he is our right wing .

C.Birchall - He is not in his clubs plans no more it may seem ,after a big transfer ,being given the coveted number 10 shirt and all he has died out . Birchall after starting a couple of game dwindled off the board at the buisness end of the season . But he is training and has a club and has looked one of the best players this campaing ....but he is on the bubble .....competition breeds success and this shot be the spot for players who want to get in the team ...give ricky shakes ande boucard , kevon kneves ,chances if sean de silva , leston paul got theirs

K.Jones - the 24 year old .Plays every minute of every game for sunderland ..... which amazingly is an upgrade to the standard of football he plays with his national team and the change of level shows . Trinidad and Tobago is mad is K.Jones is not in the 11 .... K.Jones has only started 3 national team games and contributed 1 goal ... 3 games and people on his back ...... 10 goals this seaon from 22 starts is almost a goal every two game which is fantastic return considering the team he is playing with ....

J.Scotland - a goal machine for the last 4 season ... yes sir the last four .... play him and he will score ... not just one game ....play him like you play stern and he will score . Playing the same league as stern even has a bet with his compatriot no comparision their for me ... like micheal owen stern need to play for his club first before he could start for Trinidad . and score ... Stern has played the more minutes than any other striker this season and has not scored since last year .... GO J. Scotland.

Bench -
K.Jagdeosing - Plays for puerto rico ....not a constant starter but will contribute for sure in a game
D.Roberts - Excellent supporting striker and needs to be in this team ... constant started for his team ...which he has even dropped back in the midfield in recent weeks
Y. Marshall - Help this player in season .... give games are just being given out give him one ..... just out of college in la Galaxy
A.Warner - best second keeper we have
A.Boucard - if yall see him play you all will understand ....starts in the same league as silvio and i playing football ,had a trial with mk dons recently
R.Latapy - Player /coach no words needed
A.guerra - I want him to get a game
no body else unless the playing football and deserve it
