I regularly visit this thread for  comic relief . I enjoy the expressions of fake outrage  about everything that is wrong   with Trinidad .

Goat, you maybe right, but I am quite sure most Trinis have serious concern when things go wrong in the country. Some may fake and some,(like me, sometimes bury my head in the sand because I just get fed up). But we have concerns for TT. I from EDR. You think I faking about the current situation in East Pos.

No I  don't think that you fakin nuthin . but  when it is said and done  Trinidad is paradise compared to other Caribbean countries . Could have even be better except for the mismanagement for the last 40 years.

Started out as a  labor dispute  that morphed into a protest against British   rule in 67.
 Over 50 were killed by the security forces then. How many was  killed this time by the security  forces?

China will get their way on HK. It is inevitable. The agreement signed by the Brits and Beijing was always in Beijing's favor. But to call the protesters malcontents is kind of weird. So they must submit to the heavy hand of the Communists like sheep to the slaughter?

And after 17 years living under Basic Law, as negotiated between the British and mainland China, they suddenly decide this isnt fair? How representative are these  protesters anyway?

They never protested against the British during their 98 year rule

 As an outsider ,  these are some if my observations.
 Trinidad has a racial divide that cannot be bridged.
 If the PNM were in power and had  introduced this same legislation it would have been hailed  by their supporters  and the UNC would have protested.   
 The PNM has  been in power for most  of Trinidad independent existence but the lot  of black people  had not improved greatly .
 Trinidad  and most other countries  for that matter only cares that  one  of their kind is in power  and  it  matters not  whether they suffer . 
 Same  for religious divide as in Northern Ireland

 Great move by  India . Narendra Modi will go down as a great champion for third world countries .
 Any  trade agreement that makes the west happy can only mean  that the world countries would suffer.
 The only reason that China and Brazil is on side with this agreement is because they are net exporters    of agricultural products.
 
 This agreement did not address the subsidies given to food production in the west and had it been passed    thirld  world countries would have been  flooded with cheap agricultural products to the detriment of local farmers

 He should not have been selected but having said this , I also believe that he is obligated to report to the training camp as required.
 His loyalty must be to the WICB as he is a centrally contracted player and the rules are clear . As punishment he should be suspended    for a year and be denied an NOC

What is Caribbean identity?

There are different Caribbean identities. Depends on who was your massa. Then each island has developed its own unique culture. To an outsider, all you islanders are Jamaicans. A Trini might want to buss ah slap on him.  Even in our twin island republic, Tobago has it own unique culture which they think Trinis ignore. Then in Trini we have our Indo vs Afro culture wars. So where do you fall in ?

You haven't really defined what the Caribbean identity is . You mentioned that there are many different identities or some sort of amalgamation
 How can some here then accuse the Indos of not embracing the  Caribbean identity . Which one  should they   embrace .?
  Shouldn't their religion music etc . be classed as part   of Caribbean identity by your definition?... Just askin
