Under United TTFA an in-depth scouting network was created with the help of your very own Nigel Myers. I believe a database of over 500 players both male and female were created using Google spreadsheets of North American and European based professionals eligible to represent T&T.

The women U20s were the first to benefit from this network, having reached the quarterfinals of the Concacaft U20 Championships using a number of players located using this network. This was done just a couple months into its development and formation.

Terry Fenwick rejected the use of this scouting network because he said he had his own scouts and connections to locate players in North America and Europe. Listening to his interview after the USA demolition he stated that he selected some players using the YouTube footage of these players.  :rotfl:

Fenwick also rejected the now deceased, Style of Play Document because he did not have the intellectual fortitude to create so he wanted to have nothing to do with it.

What an embarrassment to hear the Head Coach on the International level scout for players using YouTube footage and highlights. Who are your scouts Mr. Fenwick? Where is your scouting network of objective data? You have players such as, John Paul Rochford, former U15, U17 & U20 National Captain not selected to the traveling squad for the USA game but Gary Griffith son made the team? How and Why?

Terry Fenwick will be successful hopefully at the regional level as some of our Intercol Teams can probably compete at the regional level but we will NEVER qualify for a World Cup with Fenwick in charge. With the normalization committee filling his pockets with money he is there to stay, like the true slave master we can’t help but to surrender ourselves too.

What a SHAME!! Carry on folks, there is nothing to see here!!!

This is international football so there is no excuse for the lack of basic tactical understanding the team displayed.

Once the commissioner of police is actively involved in football, only for self interest to buy a place for his son on the team who wasn’t even a school boy standout then we are ALL to blame!!!!

Fenwick is going to feed the masses with tons of excuses about lack of preparation, COVID, the ban but I don’t see with even our full team, with him in charge how are we going to qualify for a World Cup playing against the A teams of, Mexico, USA, Canada, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Honduras to name a few. I guess only time will tell!!

Wasn’t this team in training at the police barracks months before? If so, what was our game plan in attacking, defending and in transition? Fenwick just left players to do as they please! It looks like he surely missed his sidekick Gary on the sidelines to tell him what to do. Hilarious!!

why hate on the lad? it's obvious he impressed the coach in some capacity, and if i'm not mistaken he's on his way to ireland according to the an article i read on the forum, at least it's much better than india.
. ease of the lad and give him a chance,

You can’t be serious, “hero warrior”....it’s NOT obvious that he impressed Fenwick. What’s obvious is that he got picked because his dad, the commissioner of police is friends with Fenwick and he bought his son’s way into the team. The club you are referring too is, the Northern Ireland Club - Coleraine FC. The English Football Association considers the Northern Ireland League to be on the same level as the Trinidad Pro League and India I League, with all 3 competitions ranked in “Band Six” for work permit applicants which is considered 2 levels below the MLS.
look here man i don't want to argue, but seriously, if the lad played tonight of which i wasn't aware because of the piss poor commentary by FS1 which i never heard his name mentioned. but never the less, if he featured it would have happened after the sixth goal was scored because that's when the first changes were made, and what harm could it have caused since we were already in the middle of a route? he certainly didn't make the team any worst, that's for sure.

If you don’t want to argue, don’t argue. Why is it that everything for trinis results in an argument. It’s a discussion mate.

This is international football so there is no excuse for the lack of basic tactical understanding the team displayed. I don’t understand what point you are trying to make by, “he certainly didn’t make the team any worse”. If that’s your approach to international football then clearly we don’t belong there.

« on: January 14, 2020, 08:19:43 PM »
Yes, I have taken the TTFF/KNVB National C in 2011 and it holds no value in other countries. The TTFF/KNVB National C is equivalent to US Soccer's Grassroots License. With the TTFA/KNVB National C I was only able to land a volunteer coaching position at a recreational club as no one was willing to recognize my license, even with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management from an American University.

However, I currently have my US A License as well as some European certifications, so I have had the opportunity to compare. From my experiences, I think our coaches would become more marketable with a Concacaf License.

The TTFA should align their coaching education program together with Concacaf’s Licensing program. Our TTFA licenses are only recognized in T&T so they have no regional or international value. “Waste of time and money to be honest”.

A Concacaf License would bring more regional and international creditability to our TTFA Licenses meaning our local coaches can get employment or opportunities abroad.
