Espn360 is showing the game live online.. check www.espn360.com

It is all access till July 19th. I do not know if it works outside of the US (maybe it does) but i definitely know it works anywhere in the US and office firewalls dont block it ;D Coverage starts 2:55pm I believe.  This stream is very nice and clear but is ESPN commentary.

Thank god ah ent have no speakers ::)

ent! ESPN have dave o'brien (a baseball commentator) and marcelo balboa (a former good-for-nothing US defender)

Agree whole heartedly, but since my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice teams are all out of this thing, I'm living with ESPN commentary and supporting the underdog........... Go Portugal!!!!!

Its not a thrashing, basically exciting open game. Brazil 3-2 up with 5 mins left, Argentina pressing for the equaliser, leave gaps at the back. One fast break from Brazil in the 88th min, then 4-2! game put to bed.

Like you dream out that whole final!!!!!  ;)

Argentina 2

Italy   0

                           Argentina 2
                                                                 Brazil "Winners"
                           Brazil        4

Brazil        2

Portugal    1

I agree with your winners, but I don't see Brazil beating Argentina by 2 goals.

Football / Re: How it go look
« on: June 01, 2006, 10:06:56 AM »
I hate to say it, but the same things that make us great people to be around, a great country to live in and fantastic country to grow up in are the same things that tend to leave us lacking when qualities such as doggedness (sp?) and determination are critical. Talent and flair come natually to us but sticktoitiveness and application are things we have to learn.

(I know I painting with a broad brush, and there are plenty exceptions but its truth)

2006 World Cup - Germany / Re: Accomodation In Dortmund & Nuremberg
« on: May 26, 2006, 01:45:05 PM »
The pickings are really slim in Nuremberg, you might want to consider staying in Frankfurt and commuting for the games.  It would probably cost less.

22
Yeah boy same story with me.  I had to send in copies of my WN Paypal receipt and my FIFA email.  They say we get thru, my friend paid today and supposed to collect on Friday, but as my friend told the lady at the TTFF office......... "we ent believing it until we have tickets IN HAND!" So hopefully I will see all yuh in the stands for the England game.

23
Well.......... the latest I'm hearing out of TTFF today is that despite happily taking orders for the TT vs ENG game, they are now saying they are "oversubscribed" and gving priority to those who are ordering ALL of the TT matches.  I have no idea how that is supposed to work, since the vast majority of people planning to attend all of the matches would have already secured their tickets to the other games.  It seems if you ordered late, you getting priority......... wtf????

I guess the bottom line is you have to do your own research.  I bought a 10-day Germany-Benelux pass from Eurail (not RE), since I plan to head to Amsterdam as well.  Using the fares posted on the DB site (disounts inlcuded), I should save at least US$100, maybe more if I don't assume I get all the discounted fares.

Dortmund plans Caribbean party
18 May 2006
by FIFAworldcup.com

The FIFA World Cupâ„¢ will get under way in Dortmund with a night to remember at the city's Westfalenhallen where leading acts from Trinidad and Tobago will bring a flavour of the Caribbean to this corner of Germany.
On 9 June, the night before first-time finalists T&T take on Sweden at the Westfalenstadion, musicians from the tiny island state will have the chance to put their country into the spotlight. A four-hour show packed with pulsating rhythms has been planned, promising a real carnival atmosphere for the thousands of football fans visiting the city.

Read about the 12 Host Cities

The event will take place at Westfalenhalle 1 and will start with a FIFA World Cup opening ceremony involving 32 local children, each carrying the flag of one of the participating nations. The Germany v Costa Rica match will be broadcast on a giant screen and once over, the Caribbean Night will commence.

More than 100 stars from Trinidad and Tobago will be there, including limbo dancers (who will have to pass under a pole no higher than a Coca-Cola bottle), incredible costumes and some of the country's most famous music acts.

These include Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe, who has served as his country's official cultural ambassador, and Junia Regrello, one of T&T's top carnival music stars. If you like Caribbean rhythms, the sound of the steel drum and are looking for some fun, then Dortmund is the place to be on 9 June.

This will be the only Caribbean Night taking place in Germany and has been planned in conjunction with representatives from the official Trinidad and Tobago tourist board. Organisers hope to attract a large crowd of football fans, doubtless preparing to cheer their team hoarse the next day. "This is our first World Cup," explained Jason Baptiste, marketing manager for the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Development Company, "and the enthusiasm back home is incredible. Seven thousand fans will be coming over to Dortmund."

The Caribbean Night and Opening Party will mark the start of a four-week programme of events at the Westfalenhallen. Throughout the finals, Halls 1 to 3A will host concerts, plays and other events, while Halls 4 to 8 will offer accommodation to travelling fans.

The Africa Festival on 18 June and the live concert with Brazilian superstar Ivete Sangalo on 1 July will add to the international flavour of events at the Westfalenhallen during the finals. You can find all the information you need about the city's entertainment programme by visiting the German-language website www.fancamp-dortmund.de.

2006 World Cup - Germany / Re: T&T, England a security risk
« on: May 20, 2006, 06:22:37 AM »
I guess that makes sense, any match with the USA or England might be a potential terror target.  Frankly, I'm much more running into some fool on a White Supremacist kick.  I'm sure they will put all of the neccessary security in place and if some terrorists try to infiltarte us.......... they will be having such a good time they will forget about their bomb.

Sounding good Tallman.  I wish I could say I am surprised.  It is important that you guys keep up the pressure on our behalf. The rate they were going you may have had to set up a WN distribution centre in Dortmund!

Can anybody give me an itemized list of what is needed for the German Enmbassy in NY or other states?

I know about the insurance, and world cup tickets but what about flight information, hotel accomodation, proof of employment etc. ?

JDB.  Check the German Consulate website for details.  You needed, booked flights, accomodation for the entire peiod of your stay, the insurance letter & a job letter.  I did not show my WC tickets and was not asked to, I don't believe that is a requirement and your US$43 in cash.
