Good job on the goal Yorkie but how allyuh lose to that shyt side

shyt side?

If you follow a team in the championship, then you should at least get some  knowledge into the league. Colchester have the best home record in the league over the season  ;)

Anyway, I was at the game as a Colchester supporter and was glad to see not just Carlos and Dwighty starting, but Stern too.

Carlos looked sharp on the odd occasion, put in some good runs, but then let himself and the team down with poor distribution. He looked lazy after doin all the hard work.

Dwight looked solid. Threw himself about, lucky not to get a booking early on.
Everytime he got the ball he seemed to have so much time to play. That is class, he still has a first touch that can give him so much time in when everyone around him seem so rushed. Took he goal well too

As for Stern, the less said the better really. He had too shots that almost cleared the stands. No suprise when he came off.

Carlos really look like he could put some top premier defenders on theirasses when he running at them though.

I feel sorry for those Sunderland supporters who have a 5/6hr drive home with they tail between their legs, they got serious licks from the smallest club in the league.

Welcome to Layer Road Sunderland  ;D

POMPEY SET TO SPEND
Football365.com

26 Mar 2007

Dirty 'Arry Redknapp has promised to spend the cash to turn Pompey into real challengers for the European places next season - starting by bringing in West Brom defender Curtis Davies and hijacking Arsenal's move for Lester Peltier.

The Daily Mirror reports that Portsmouth have set thweir sights on Davies - currently out for the rest of the season, and also a target for Spurs and Newcastle - as the perfect partner for Sol Campbell.

18-year-old Peltier, meanwhile, has impressed at both Pompey and Arsenal on trial, and will be offered a move if he can secure a work permit. A cap for Trinidad & Tobago before the summer should secure it.

Just thought i'd add this

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/6494373.stm
Portsmouth may be ready to hijack 18-year-old midfielder Lester Peltier's move to Arsenal from Trinidad and Tobago club San Juan Jabloteh. (Various)

Reported by various British papers today. So it look like the earlier stories of Portsmouth offering him a four year deal were jumping to conclusion.

I also read the boy have a dutch grandmother, so he should have no problem getting an EU work permit if dat true.

As for how Pompey hear of these boys, Fenwick was they manager for almost three year, so I guess he contacted them and in the case of the boy who have no trial, I guessing they trust the man's word.

Yeah they win 2-0 but they not quite make it, one of the team behind lose and the other draw so they only need a point

« on: April 29, 2006, 05:00:16 AM »
Today my local team, Colchester United, could be promoted to the English Championship for the first time in they history.  They are in second place with two games to play, if they win both they are up, if the other two teams behind them lose and we win they be up.

This would be a massive achievement, as we're a team with no money, the ugliest stadium you ever go see and an average attendence of around 4000

The chairman and manager have done a brilliant job for the team and I just hope the players can go on do us all proud

Even if we don't make it, this has been a fantastic season, fanatstic league and cup performances and a huge day out to Stamford Bridge, which saw Colchester dominate and lead Chelsea for at least 15mins, have really shown that no team should ever be under estimated.

I only sorry I didn't get to se Birchall play at we ground before we go up, although with a good world cup I maybe seeing him in the championship next season at the very least.  I hope he take that route rather then join a big premier club and get dump in the reserve.

So here's to Colchester and T&T who still going on to prove that anything is possible

« on: March 08, 2006, 06:37:31 PM »
Yeh boy Eddie Lewis is not easy nah.  I don't recall him being fast though.
Who are Leeds forwards?

Leeds probably have the best goup of fowards in the championship (although not individually)

Robbie Blake, David Healy (Nothern Ireland player who score winning goal against England in Qualifier) Rob Hulse, Ian Moore, Richie Cresswell and Michael Ricketts (though he out on loan)

Leeds are my second team and as much as i'd like to see a trini, especially one with as much potential as Samuel, i have to say he will struggle to get a place in the side

Eddie Lewis of the USA is our left winger and has been 1 of our top 3 players this season

I don't know too much about positions he can play though but his best bet would be in the centre of midfield for Leeds as we do lack creativity in that department

If that is what he is brought in for then i think he could be the catalyst behind Leeds getting back into the Premiership

After qualifying for the World Cup  lot more Trinis will be taking up the game

Whether or not one of these can be the next big Trini fotballer is so hard to say

Some team cango years without ever getting 1 that good, some may never get 1

I think maybe Portugal an example of this Eusebio - Figo + Rui Costa -no one comes to memory for this team in between this period

also Norway always been a decent team but what big player they ever have?  Carew had potential but he never make it

I think Birchall or Spann looking like they could do it at the top though
