We just loss, men pride hurting, mine too.

When things calm down a proper post mortem is required.

Will love to hear the coach post match comments but I think he got his tactics and team selection wrong today.

Redemption will come in the morning. We still have football to play.
The coach has time to work out the head and fitness problems. This team will be much better when the hex begins.

From my perspective, Hart's experiment didn't work. I will wait to hear his take on the game before I make some objective criticism. The only positive I see is we have some time to fix the head problems. Also, we have some players yet to join the team. I'm looking at 3 players that we may have for the hex.

Some of our players lack footballing IQ. We dribbling when a simple pass and running into space would be more effective. Dem fellas believe they is Messi.

A 17 year old kid is making grown men look like little boys. Maybe this is the best medicine for us right now.

Sam you're correct. Supporting T&T sometimes is like being in love with a bad woman...you sure to get hurt.

This team has no cohesion, no organization in defense and no composure in front of goal. Is it the coach or is it the players?

What one has to recognize is that Maturana and Beenie are two different coaches in terms of their approach. Beenie is a coach that would come in and get things done by using the best players that are immediately available. He will never look to develop local players. He wants players that have already reached a certain level of proficiency.

Maturana, coming from a different part of the world (Colombia as opposed to the Netherlands), understands the effect of starting at the grass root level. He has more interest in preparing the "diamonds in the rough" than polishing the silver that we have.

When was the last time you saw a high profile coach scrimmaging with his team? Maturana is comfortable working with the local talents. I think it's their methodology based on their background and culture. Most coaches in the Dutch system don't have to teach fundamentals to adult players as they would have mastered that in their early years. The colombian system, though more advanced than tt's, is similar.

Hat's off to coach Maturana.

Football / Re: Was Pele Really The Best?
« on: June 28, 2007, 10:55:20 AM »
What many  don't realize is that Pele also played in a time when the prevailing thought of a defender was that if the ball pass you the man must never pass you. It was never the man and the ball. Today players have much more protection from the referee. In Pele's time a man could hack you at will and get away with it. There are so many other factors that can be considered in the evaluation of Pele being the greatest.

Without contradiction, Pele was simply the greatest player to have ever played the game period. Dribbling, scoring with head and feet, never with his hands, bicycle kick, you name it he was simply the best.

It is apparent that some did not take logic in school. It's time for some to learn some basics of logic. Today's homework is " the law of noncontradiction." Do your homework and then come back and post.

In this world money talks. What the government of T&T needs to do is say unless the best players represent us we are not giving the TTFF any money. Let's see what Jack would do. If it's Jack or the TTFF team let them foot the bill.

When will people realise that no one knows the hour or the day. What we ought to do is live everyday like it's your last because your end can come sooner than you think. In all likelihood, your end will come before the end of the world.

When will people on this board realise that the job of the national head coach is not to fix the problems with the local leagues or develop players. Will someone please post the job description of the national coach.

Why is it that some refuse to give Wim some time to prove what he can do? He has already proven that he can take a team, not a first team, and compete in Concacaf.  I guess in today's world nobody wants to be patient. Everybody wants instant success.

Football / Re: What does playing for Trinbago really mean
« on: February 06, 2007, 12:22:12 PM »
Is it not the responsibility of the coaching staff to instill the philosophy and style of play? If the players don't live up to it who is to blame? Every team should know it's objective and when the team takes the field it should be to execute that which was simulated in practice based on the scouting report etc.

AS to fitness, it's a disgrace and utter shame for a player to be unfit in today's game. Fitness is an individual thing. You have to have the personal desire and drive to push yourself to the limit. An unfit player reveals so much about himself. Maybe it's time to establish fitness criteria for the national team and anyone failing the fitness test shouldnot even be considered.

Players need to understand that the sacrifices they make today to be the best will bring great rewards, not only for country but  also personal.

When will people take personal responsibility for their actions? We ought to stop blaming others.
Having said that, there is a direct corelation between the uneducated and poverty. The poor always have more children.  This is a vicious cycle.
