Football / Re: How good was Marvin Faustin?
« on: July 18, 2015, 10:40:39 PM »
Faustin was probably the greatest fullback i have ever seen for T&T. Unbelievably comfortable on the ball, great going forward and defending. Loads of skill and had a bullet on him. Do not if anyone remembered or saw his goal for Trintoc vs Defence force in Arima Municipal stadium where he ended up on the right side...got a pass, with ball bouncing a defender rushed in, he collected a reverse cap and when the ball went behind the player Faustin hit a left foot volley up in the jep nest from a ridiculous angle about 30 metres out. Also, one of his best goals is the shot he scored from the right byline in the intercol final for Sando Tech against Arima Senior Comp. Blazed it in while the keeper was looking for a cross..

Great win for the boys, in five months our football on the pitch has improved, long may it continue.

4
I hear you Socapro but in the past there were partnership agreements between our local broadcasters and the foreign ones to bring coverage to us here. There isn't any excuse.

5
We are promoting a home and away clash between T&T and Jamaica and the return leg is in Trini on Tuesday and no radio or tv feed? No linkup with a local broadcaster to promote and generate interest? We are not serious in this country about sport. It is a big joke. TTFF needs to step up or else what is the point? If you do not market and promote how will the youths be interested in keeping the flag flying high?

Hopefully a Molino start tomorrow and better defending from the air crosses into the box.

Kenwyne Jones.. Played every game. Work rate phenomenal even in games where we did not play well .Led by example

I thought there was a vast improvement from the side that played in the Caribbean cup and recent friendlies. The coaching staff have this team for three weeks and already you can see the stamp of a better coacHed  team. Beenhakkers belief in possessing the football as long as possible already can be seen and now and then there is a switch up with long balls being aimed for big Kenwyne. The attempt to play constructively and to link up play was evident with a nice chemistry Between Carlos, hyland and Daniel. Our problems include a lack of communication between Power and Mitchell and our transition to defense from attack though improved is still not where it should be. Theobald is not fit for international football and this resulted in an overworked hyland. We need a fitter, more mobile mid to play between hyland and Daniel. Carter added nothing from the right and joevin did not have his best game. I believe that he has not even been playing left back recently for Wconn. Good effort and Kenwyne was phenomenal tonight. Lots to work on but I am encouraged by the fight and attempt to knock it around, form triangles and build plays with patience.

Agree with Sam 100%.. Also with Coache...the age group Sherwood is targetting is what we need to focus on..getting them to play one touch and two touch football it will eventually become automatic when they start getting older and then the other skills can come in and complement. Sad to say I looked at a show on sportsmax highlighting college football some months ago and they showed Jamaican intercol and also ours. Marked difference...the Jamaican kids clearly have better technique and can trap, pass and cross the ball very well. Shows that the youths are better coached out there..hate to admit it but it was glaring.

Up two nil and while not possessing ball very well we are quicker to the ball than the Ticos, more direct and we killing them on set pieces.. looks like a well coached side but not surprised as Sean Cooper is a very good youth coach.

Had a look at the video you posted Sherwood and I love the work you are doing with the kids and the ideas you are trying to get across. I am an aspiring coach myself. One day soon I hope to get some badges here and get my feet wet. So far I have been able to get a diploma in Phys Ed and I may get a chance to assist with a coaching school in South. It is very encouraging to see guys who played college ball from South giving back to the kids. Keep it up!

The man has inherited a mess...administrative and otherwise..I think Tim Kee has to be given time to get things in order or get the TTFF to a state of stability. We like quick fixes in this country but some things take time. Give the man a year at least and then judge. Warriors we there supporting on Wednesday!!

Love dreamer's synopsis, lol. As Shabazz said before the game T&T football has to take baby steps to get back to where it was...basics still missing like trapping etc but good grit by the Warriors. Cuba will be tough but Warriors can do it. Been waiting a while for Guerra to get a proper run in the team as he is the most talented midfielder in T&T..natural skill like that. With the addition of the foreign based we can put up a good showing in the Gold cup...still not sold on Hutson Charles as coach but well done all the same.

Weakest T&T team I have ever seen represent us...no cohesion, and midfield getting bypassed a lot of times, our stoppers hitting the ball long. Cant even string three passes together. Sad times for T&T football

Seon has always been a disaster. he was so at rightback and then a few years ago I heard he is playing stopper. I was horrified..a disaster like that in the hole? :o...that fella should be as far away from the goal as possible. We really hard up for defenders in this country it seems.

Seon Power getting crticized for his defending...surprise, surprise..any defence with that fella in for trouble. No composure and he is wild.
