Ok, let’s how this plays out. If he is good enough, will he want to for Eng. or TT?

England until he thinks that ship has sailed.

No leadership. I totally agree with that. Yorke say Keane call him right away cause he needed "characters" in the dressing room. ManU only have Pogba who is the wrong kind of character. If a Roy Keane was next to them in midfield, you would see them all pulling their weight though.

Tallman, winning means everything in today's football. ManU maybe the "flagship", but that ship in drydock. It needs some major overhaul, especially in the midfield.

Midfield and defence.

Pogba, Herrera, Fred, Perreria, Matic, Lingard, Mata for 3 spots...and I am sure they have one or two youths who could make the side if Fergie was in charge. That midfield nowhere close to being bad.

Jones and Smalling were international defenders before Mourinho and Bailly is a good player.Dalot, Shaw are excellent wingbacks and Fosu-Menshah would have been ahead of Trent Alexander if his development was allowed to continue after Van Gaal gave him his debut.

Young and Valencia could cover for both midfield and defence when experience needed.

A new manager have sufficient tools to work with. Mourinho was just making good players play poor with his attitude since pre-season that they not good enough

QRC capture Fruta Form 1 football crown

“We have won Under-19s North Zone and Nationals,” David continued. “We have won Under-16s. Hats off to the QRC programme, to Mr (David) Simon, the principal of QRC who has been there for us over the years. I think we deserve it.”

QRC sounding like they have something in the making

Put yourself as the TT coach in this present situation. Do you think you can do any better? Imaging you presenting short term and long term strategies for TT national team. Just think about that.

From the time the world cup qualifiers were done, I would have gone with a team to qualify for the Olympics 2020. Leave Levi Garcia and Joevin Jones to establish themselves professionally. Keep Bateau to help with the younger defenders coming through and maybe Hyland for his experience, and Molino when the next world cup campaign come around.

We really have nobody so great that younger players can't supplant them in preparation for the future.

DL came to T&T team probably about 5 years to early. He should have stayed in England and developed himself as a coach. His coaching resume is too young too short for this job
Agreed. He would have been better served, personally and to us, if he had stayed with Belgium, gone to a world cup and got that experience.

Quick Question:

Has any Trinidadian coached or been involved in coaching at a level similar or even close to what Dennis Lawrence was exposed to at Wigan, Everton and Belgium?
Quick Answer:

No

spidey, any thoughts on the Iran squad?

We need a striker badly. Hopefully young Lee could make an impact. Like I said, nobody doing the job or even looking the part so Lawrence needs to widen the search, which he has done.

Right...so going back to the point of the thread. I claim that I find none of our strikers look like they capable of scoring so Britto at 26 probably should be in the mix cause nobody, since even during Stephen Hart tenure, has done anything. With Winchester, to me, being the only one who has been tried who even look like he capable of finding the net.

One would expect a reasonable disagreement to that opinion should be: A) I find that nobody, including Winchester, capable or B) I believe that "X Player "is capable.

But... after asking for Tallman to research stats, viewing Goals Galore, trying to talk tactics...you just wanted to say that Britto shouldn't be included cause he miss a sitter, so we should just stick with the ones we have who currently not scoring?

That was the destination you were trying to get to on your long winding journey ?

He should be in the mix then. We have no striker. Shahdon Winchester is the only one who seems capable of scoring since Hart days to now, aside from the blip Boatswain made

Ignoring the point blank range opportunity gifted versus Progreso?

I'm not seeing anything clinical or surgical to merit that call.

In comparison to the other strikers, he seems to me the only one CAPABLE of scoring. So from that point of view, you have to look at how many point blank opportunities the others even had to throw away? From a non statistical stand point, I am pretty sure the answer would be less, because they have not even been able ti find themselves in a position to throw away, far less score.

Regarding where the midfielders scoring from, all Molino and Joevin goals were pretty much created by themselves or by each other from just outside the box between the 16 to 20 yrd area

Lawrence need to call Martinez and ask for a spot back now that Henry gone to Monaco...for his own sake. He is worth more to us out there than as national coach. Let him get back in the mix, get some experience, earn a reputation (even if it is just as an assistant coach) and come back when he is about 60 to deal with T&T.

Sergio says that Abu Bakr’s ability to read the game and his composure in defending are second to none. Abu Bakr’s performances have seen him nominated to the Liga 1 Team of the Week four times in seven weeks. He has also been made captain of PS Tira.

People always used to complain about his lack of pace but I always noted that the defence conceded less when Bakr was partnered with Bateau in the centre. During that period when we had Cyrus and Marshall all competing for the starting role.  He brought a sense of calm and leadership. Off the ball attributes, i guess, which would not as obvious to those who not on the field.

But with this so called pro-league, the U-19 football is in a state of flux. Their desire to restrict school influence would not help their product. Even if they had restrict the "super stars", inter-col would go one. And the clubs will continue to "raid" the school for players.  The clubs have to form their own schools to pull the players away. They don't have the resources to do that.

I could be wrong, but I doubt there are any children on a premier league schools team that was not with a club before. Maybe when it was still zonal and "watered down", but not now. The schools are the ones who would be raiding the clubs to get the best players in the school.
