Football / Re: Josiah Trimmingham Thread
« on: Today at 11:00:55 AM »
The football market is an intriguing commercial space. Trimmingham is locked into employment ... Muckette is locked out of employment. Apples and oranges? Yes, but fruits on similar vines.

Muckette must not want to go to India.

I think it might be saying something. just like Trimmingham in late August of this year get "converted" to striker...to leading his team to victory with a brace today. That says something about character. Although I didn't like how he play for T&T, must have something there.

wow. allyuh men real biased boy. #7 ride he back and get an acceptable shove -- yellow. But if you look at the shove on the #8 in real time, you can't allow that in a football match.

didn't see him come on for that match. was he even on the bench? their defense seem pretty solid, made up entirely of south american internationals. Does he get playing time for this squad? (or did sheriff just recently buy some more defenders to push keston down the order)?

Is $90 for the match jersey. Kinda steep for the brand. It look nice though.

Ent. Optimistic pricing out of whack with the state of play.

i say they woulda blink after the football done. but they holdin strong with the price.

....

now i am certainly not an advocate for mr fenwick but he was criticized by the whole nation especially those former footballers  for his results, but angus whp performed poorly is being endorsed by the whole football fraternity, did i fking miss something here?
...

I respect the rest of your post  :beermug: , but also think it a bit disingenuous on the comparison between Fenwick and Eve to a) Restrict the conversation to "competitive matches" so as to not mention a worst-ever drubbing against a natural comparison to Mexico and b) to not try to compare teams faced -- using  Most recent Fifa Rankings for example, with PR & Montserrat similarly ranked, and Eve's opposition in the upper half of our Confed's rankings (obviously Fr Guiana has no ranking) vs those near the bottom.

** edit -- I guess you could compare St Kitts vs Guatemala -- the the idea of 'competitive match' would come back into play.

Really, what has he done to merit such considerations? he brought back an old outdated goal keeper and a few washed up players who’s past their prime, he’s won a single game decisively parked the bus vs mexico and couldn’t get passed beatable el salvador and guatemala and was unable to win a single game in the gold cup bowing out to the competition.

since he’s been coach he has used nearly the whole team playing a five man defense against a team that couldn’t even get passed guadelope, and you want him back? no mate. let angus go find his way just like latapy stern John and jamal shabbaz who experimented on small island teams, let him coach the in the pro league and gain some experience before he’s allowed to take over our national team, no bloody way will I endorse him, he’s rubbish just like all the others.
I'm interested in hearing a similar assessment of Fenwick's tenure, with conclusions for possible re-hire.

Good finish, I didn't think Alvin J saw the pass but it was perfect.
he didn't. Miss kick
I didn't think so. Alvin take it upon himself to take on players from the back and make the run all the way. what you all think he was aiming for?

Who is your alternative to Khan? He wasn't recalled.
Frenderup
Jones
David
Abu Bakr
Williams
Powder
Hachshaw
Muckette
Molino
  Moore
Telfer

...and not b/c i'm a great fan of Hackshaw so far, but i think he could improve...and muckette could add more fight to his game.

Post your gut as to the starters you think will feature tonight and post your view on how you would like the team to start (if there's a difference between both).

Maybe :
Frenderup
Jones
David
Abu Bakr
Williams
Powder
Khan
Muckette
Molino
  Moore
Telfer

maybe I missed if Khan ever came on and shat himself. can't remember how powder played either if he ever came on, but club page says he can play left mid.

but eve keep pickin jelani peters, marcus joseph and russel jr..and i would like a rest from dem.

even if so, seems like Eve delusional about the strength of this current squad. Would like to hear his comments on if he even want to, or tried.

Falling-out blamed for failed programme: Bad Wolf Sports reeling after ‘Sunday Express’ exposé
By Denyse Renne (T&T Express)

Part III of an investigation into football scholarships in Trinidad and Tobago.

Business sponsorship

Deakin’s e-mail to Moorland noted he had been made aware of “an article over in Trinidad which attempts to paint the programme as ‘not genuine’ and/or ‘suspicious’”.

“BWS were engaged to explore the possibility of creating an ‘on-island’ programme for T&T youths which we could deliver without the need for the scholars to leave the island—Moorlands delivering educational elements and The Football Factory Foundation delivering practical coaching...,” he wrote.

Deakin stated the scholarship concept had established interest among the business community in T&T, with businesses providing sponsorship to the TTPS which would then be diverted to the FFF, which would deliver coaching.

YEAH, TONG TO ARIMA BY 5!! TONG TO ARIMA BY 5!! (sound so familiar).

Moore has potential.. he played well, never seen him play before tbh
I think eve should call up Cummings tbh, he will be a great addition to this squad..

Eves coaching was better than both DL and Fenwick..

Will wait to see how they perform against better opposition but its a decent start for Eve and the team compared to what we have been seeing ...
agree with the tempered outlook. i like how frederup, telfer, aubrey & moore played. without molino to put the team on a solid footing in the 1st half i think they would have struggled. the minutes under the belt  made for a generally more fluid 2nd half showing. wasn't a complex enough game to see change in tactics or anything, so can't praise or blame eve yet. i think he try a few guys who --moore worked well, but i didn't like peters, russel jr or marcus joseph. i still wanting to see jesse williams encouraged, as better than others chosen. good outing, but i hope the favorites talk isn't true and we don't continue to see men who visably don't have the gc levels

During the preceding matches, Poon Angeron's passing accuracy was at a notably high level, although understated and almost imperceptible. Certainly much higher than has been on display in recent years. Given the way the team played, his pass selection was promising. Also, his recovery movements, positional awareness and decision making resulted in KEY interventions during at least two WC qualifiers. That stated, Muckette, Hyland and Poon is a trio that we never saw, for instance.

At the end of the day, there's more than one way to skin a cat. All roads don't lead to Poon. Just strikes me as instructive that his name didn't come up during the presser ... especially considering the realities of the midfield and the fact that he amassed actual playing minutes.
Having presumably watched the very same matches as you, I think this is a euphemism for "a lot of back passes", which as an attacking midfielder, many times on the wing, didn't strike me as useful to the team in any of those matches.

Wtf. Nutten? No comment ? No defense? Just another day in TT ?

Defense yuh want? Defense yuh getting! Offense and defense without transition.

Sense and nonsense intermingled.
I ent listen to the rebuttal yet, and only skim the original article a few days ago, but I can say that my 1st impression was that it was a really shoddy, incomplete set of journalism...with a lot of circumstantial evidence of wrongdoing, but nothing that would stand up in a court of law -- my thought was that maybe the media house put pressure on the journalist to publish before the case could be built and made stronger (publish too soon). In the end it just come off to me like a mad journalist with an axe to grind decide to publish some dirt on Gary (was this the same one who ask Gary how his son got on the team?)...kinda like in a smaller scale political campaign in the US.

Just because I am a fan and believe players or their families/others read these and then somehow get the word/convey a general sentiment of 'what they hearing' back to the players, I want to disagree here and say that players don't pick themselves to play or keep themselves on the pitch. (maybe the above ^^^ comments are better suited to a Terry Fenwick thread). Joevin, I am more than grateful for you coming back into what I am certain is a pile of sh!t situation, gambling on your family livelihood for a PROMISE of what wouldn't even constitute pocket change or bus fare money. Consistently for many many years. Thank you for showing this nation of fake people how to love your country and God Bless and keep you and reward you for it. Play the Fitball Joevin, everybody know you have it. We behind you 100%.

Levi G. played better in the 2nd, he opened up some chances and hit the bar. No idea why Joevin didn't blast that instead of passing. I though Joevin played a little negatively, going back instead of taking on his man.
Maybe he was instructed to do so.
We played decent, this is more the kind of performance I expect from us. Bateau and David are good, they can handle a better attack than this.

That is not an instruction. Joevin is a professional footballer in semi-retirement mode.
Just on the topic of Joevin. i thought Peong woulda see better as a man that does follow him at the club level. Before the bahamas match i watch JJ games for Inter Miami stretching a month or 2 back and he don't look good - a shadow of himself. Subbed or not play in quite a few of them. Just based on form he should not have started. (corrected for the SKN game). Maybe the club having him play too much of a defensive role. Crosses still there but almost everything else missing from his game. And I am a big fan. I think Terry lacking as a coach, but I can see that he working with a very limited player pool, when you basically have to depend on an out-of-form Joevin to produce goals. That Jesse Williams fella was a good pick up. we could give up on Poon-angeron for my liking - same with woo ling. At this stage I think Judah looks like Levi of many years ago - before he really deserve his spot on the team. If muckette get some experience in a molino-type position I think he could improve...but otherwise is one by one it seem like we pickin up what the new team will look like.
