maybe we could set up a feeder club in trinidad!

or maybe sunderland could re-schudule their pre-season tour, and tour T & T instead of Ireland! Would sure be great if sundlun toured T&T, id come over for sure!

Peace Brothers!

Well i like that idea !

maybe we could set up the PFL as a feeder club league in trinidad! ( changed that for you)

;D ;D

what about Chris Birchal at Coventry?
and Yes of course Kenwyn Jones at Southampton
or you can find some more links to other TnT player profiles here

I tink Birchie would have a hard time fitting into Sunderland midfield, since Whitehead, yorkie, and Miller have that lockdown. Perhaps when de time come, and i hate to say it, but for when yorkie retire....Birchall could take a shot.

I like Kenywne Jones for Sunderland, they could do with his physical presence, and he would make good competition for the starting striking positions.

In fact, since Southampton might have a hard time letting him go....some other strikers who could mix things up at Sunderland:

-Jason Scotland, he could be gotten for a good deal if St.Johnstone FC don't make the Scottish Premiership, plenty talent dere, and a premier position would unlock his potential. I think already a few Champion sides (Cardiff ??) are looking into him for next season.

-Cornell Glenn, as aforementioned, not only fast but tricky.

To add in any case...the coach just offloaded a few players and is revamping the team come this summer, and chris wanst one of them, so he must have some confidence in his future potential at the club.

Cristiano could mash up La Liga.. Henry could mash up La Liga    Drogba could mash up La Liga

just naming 3 players from diff clubs

i was going to name the Utd squad but i will sound biased

No doubt about that. But think....isnt the purpose behind bringing in a player is because you believe he can thrive there? When the player gets there its a different story. Its all a chance. You can never tell. We all know latapy is a class player....but how well would he survive in EPL?

I cant say there is a drastic difference in scottish football to english...if anything it could be more physical, but at a slower pace.

3 Trinis in the Prem?

By the time Sunderland spends their miilion's of pounds, IF and
when they are promoted, Stern WILL NOT be on the team, and
Dwight 'might' be there as an assistant to Keane. If Dwight is still
there, his apprearnces will be 'cameo' only.

Edwards would have rightfully made the Premiership, which is long
overdue.
I surprise it have people eh realize dis yet.

Nah, watch out for yorkie sadis....he might make a year !

If ah remember correctly, dis is de fourth time one of our UK-based players has been subjected tuh dis kinda behavior (at least de ones dat were publicised) in de last couple of years. The others are Sancho, Scotland and Dwight.
I know this is in Austrailia but Kevin Nelson at South Melbourne FC had a hell of a time from HIS OWN fans.

Australia real far away from some of the progress being made in the west, thas not soo unusual coming from dem.

Dat is ah damn good goal.

Hav we found a next dwight yorke?
No. When Dwight was Roberts' age, he was already top-scorer at Aston Villa.

True dat, but lets hope he just comes of age later. Dwight Yorke didnt go Uni, so he time to focus on his football, now Darryl has his time, all we can do is hope.

Going off the most recent Champions League season, you have 3 of the 8 teams in the quarter finalists coming from the EPL, and 4 of the 16 (25 percent) were from the EPL.  Right now, I would say that they are definitely up there with the best of Europe.  Of course, the Italians and Spaniards have had their time, and this changes from season to season.  Right now, the EPL teams are the best in Europe.

The EPL has 20 teams, so a little less than 25%. I dont feel we can start saying England has the best league, until we see them pull this off more times in the future.

Even though the man went the World Cup, I think people forgetting that Whitley did not even make Jabloteh starting team consistently last season. His play has obviously deteriorated.

The man just not motivated. We all know de man have it in him. Hopefully this experience wake he ass up.

Its definitely a matter of the head. This is the second time at least he went out on a foreign contract to impress and couldnt cut it, i believe he went Portugal a long time ago too. He has a strong mentality playing for his national team, but he just cant seem to deal with culture shock. An off the field weakness, that affects overall disposition and hence game.

Is ashame, but i feel he should be able to slot into a North American squad if he desires, culture shock will be less.

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs Guadeloupe game
« on: March 25, 2007, 03:08:31 PM »
We trinis like to make too much excuse the fact is we suppose to beat them because even if its a young team its a team playing professional football in Trinidad something that Guadeloupe players would not have and allyuh comming with some stupidness how them beat we 5 nil already we suppose to be moving forward not be contented with a poor performance.

How you know it was a poor performance?

Palos based on what I read in the media...Guadlope scored two early goals in the game..{that could have been easily avoided}.....Now I'm assuming you are a passionate T&t football fan...so with that being said...Are you content with this team performance in Guadelope?

See i think your problem problemjaydees, is your not looking at the big picture. First of all, in football a team can put out a good performance and outperform the other team, while still losing, or tying in this case.

Second, you might say our defence in this case, was the least experienced and weakest, out of the other positions.

Finally, and i think this was the point i was trying to drive home in the first place. Trini players have a problem with complacency. To fight back from two goals down the way they did, shows we are well moving away from that problem. In this sense, we did extremely well. Not to mention, as has been before by many other posters, this team is inexperienced, individually in some cases, and as a whole gel unit.

Bless

Yea....we need something, San Juan Jabloteh could stay then, San Fernando Bullets , and Port of Spain Trappers, South WConnection, Teteron Defence Force.....wateva just getting the names and the area together.

2-2 ft. Phew! Lucky Guadeloupe

Haiti 3 Panama 0 (match almost over)

I for one satisfied with that scoreline. Actually....fuhget satisfied....encouraged.

Away from home, team that missing it's captain & most experienced player, playing opponents who are no pushovers especially at home and them goin to the Gold Cup too so in serious preparation, and comin back from 2-0 down.

I'll take it.

Well done T&T!

Thanx again fuh de updates Toussaint.

I totally agree, this team is neither as experienced playing with each other as im assuming Guadeloupe's team is as well. SO they probably gel better as well.

As for the league status, I dont think that directly impacts either, because that was also an experimental team setup using the league, but still not quite the best team we have drawn from the pro league. And again as Palos said, no captain and experienced players.

To also show grit and comeback from a deficit.....Excellent overall result !

Football / Re: Can Sunderland survive in the premiership?
« on: March 22, 2007, 11:56:21 AM »
thanks alot man supa, respect for your response...

I am also concerned too that if promoted, the start of the new season in the prem will almost a whole year on yorke biological clock and i hoping he could stand up to the strain of the premiership...

That said though i think the championship is physically more demanding of the premiership because of the breakneck kinda ball they does play there hence the reason when skillful teams get relegated dey does ketch dey ass to go back up because its all about heart, drive and determination in the championship (Eg. Crystal Palace)

So i think yorke will be good to go next year... He does take care of himself physically... And if you check it they have some old men in de premeirship who does handle dey stories in central midfield even if they not as fit as younger days, because is a lil more skill ball and less fight up...

- Gary Speed
- Didi Hamaan
- Tugay
- Ivan Campo
- Roy Keane self in his last year

For dat matter, dey have teddy sherringham still get an occasional sweet for West Ham. It would be my dream to see Yorke lift Sunderland into a European Cup, even UEFA

Football / Re: Bundesliga
« on: March 22, 2007, 09:46:09 AM »
Bundesliga is entertaining, I liked Werder Bremen, when they had Micoud, Frings, Ailton and Klose in attack.

Bundesliga gets a lot of Brazilians and basically all the good Eastern European players.

Serie A was king in the 90's. They real gone down now, some players even choosing Serie B over Serie A.

Haha Serie B over Serie A....that would be a scene.

I find both the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 underrated, teams like Werder Bremen, Bayern, Stuttgart, real stick out. And i love bremen's attacking style, dey does throw everyting forward.

Ligue 1 on the other hand, teams like Lyon, lens, lille, marseille, real mash up too. Long time now LYon been mashing up in the champions. I cyah wait for the day they win it.

Jah bless

Probably will need another striker, and i mean a more proliferant one......bolster the defence, and get a new left midfielder. The middle would need some competition for places too. Cause unfortunately Yorkie still has to test his fitness on the premier level.

Papa no disrespect eh, but yuh trying tuh tell meh de fitness level in the premier higher than the world cup the man just played? Ah doh know, ah cud be wrong, but the world cup level is de same or may be even higher. Just remember, Yorke is blessed with the mental strength to always take himself to another level. If you doubt what I'm saying look back at(1) his performances in the world cup,(2) the new position he played, (3)his leadership qualities and(4) last but not least he surprised many as being a great motivator. Yorke is coming tuh de end of his career, and he is really looking forward to ending it in the Premier, do you really think that man will not work like crazy behind closed doors, tuh make sure that he is mentally and physically ready, so that he could retire in style? Remember he been there before, so he knows the fitness level that is required, tuh be honest,Yorke is the least Sunderland will have to worry about when they get promoted, trust meh, he wiil shine. HIGHLY BLESSED.

Trust me, ive followed Yorke for quite a while now, i wasnt making bad mind, just realising that every year takes another edge off at that age. I certainly do hope he wont have problems. BLESS

Arsenal, Portsmouth and Millwall have shown strong interest, but his agent, Paul Mohamed, is based in Cardiff and is a strong Bluebirds fan.

wtf is this shit?

I dont think Portsmouth was interested...it was Cardiff who was interested along with Arsenal and Milwall.
