De man give yuh a good piece of advice youth man.  Enough men and women sacrifice their life and lifetime to move past that. Don't trivialize it now by using it as a "term of endearment". With all due respect to you, you might feel is no big thing and you refuse to be bogged down with events of the past - which is a good thing.  But you can also use the past to enlighten you to a better future.  Yuh doh have to buy in to every piece of slang yuh hear from the outside.  Much respect.

Weary, that is exactly what I saying.  Panorama  is more a lime than listening to pan anyway.  If yuh really want to listen to pan you will hear it better on the television.  If yuh want to support yuh panside and "influence" the judges yuh go Panorama with your posse.  If Panorama was about listening to pan Fonclaire woulda beat Renegades with Pan by Storm back in 1990.

Look at trouble I start now. ;D ;D ;)

The waggonists are not fans, they are spectators (defined as observers of an event).  True FANaticS vocally and enthusiastically support their team.  If people paying money to enter a stadium to just watch their team play, they better off staying home and watching it on TV where they will get all the commentary, analysis, and replays.  Better yet they could even record the game so they could WATCH it without interruption.

HCS spectators should stop wasting time, space (seats) and money in the future unless they prepared and committed to play the 12th man role. Sometimes it means that you may not see and analyze the game as carefully as you would like, but that is what videos are for.  I am sure many posters here would agree that they only really "SAW" a game they attended after the fact on video.  A World Cup Qualifier is an event where everyone present on the day has a role to play, and when you pay to sit in a stadium seat, your role is not to be quiet and analytical (due regard to Touches), but to make noise and bawl for your team.

To paraphrase David Rudder:  "If you stand up like a Moo-Moo the opponents go jam you.

No, I do not think we ever had a Scotland/Glen combo.

Admittedly, it is a tough decision, and one which only a coach can make based on assessing the players in practice.  Its too easy to armchair speculate without the benefit of evaluating current form and chemistry.

Anybody looking at the US v ES game would realize that we need Cornell Glen along with one other for the US game.  I believe we also needed him in the Honduras game, but that is water under the bridge.  Bottom line is, we need at least one forward with the disposition and ability to run at the opposing defense and shake up things every now and again.  All is moot however if the strikers are not getting good service from the midfield, or when our midfield is letting the other team control the middle third of the field.  Look at the difference Latapy and Hyland made when they came on.  Birchall's hustle will also be a welcome plus.

Agreed....on paper.  But all depends on chemistry and form when they get together before the games.  Nice problem to have though.

We have looked beyond the form and strength of the relative teams and included factors such as acclimatization to the hot South African temperatures and home advantage. Hence, the surprise inclusion of some African teams, including the hosts, in our top 16.

Average June/July max temps in Johannesburg 16 degrees Celsius.
Average June/July min temps in Johannesburg  4 degrees Celsius.

Points furtehr south such as Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban etc will be even cooler.

Yes, Big Mag, Aurtis is still with Connection.

He came on as a sub against Rangers last Thursday at Ato Boldon.

He is obviously not match fit as yet. Not the Aurtis that we know, but class is class, and he will get there.

Patience.....patience.  Give Wim a break.

Wim NEVER had all available resources to work with, and all things considered, did a fair job under the circumstances.  Wim spent the past year and a half paying his dues in a situation no one could be pleased about.

At this time we should all keep the vibes positive.  No need for the panic button yet.

In the body of the article they say 6 weeks more than once.  They probably made a mistake on the headline.

Thanks for that insight Skywalker.

Doh take my comments too seriously though.  Ah sure asylumseeker does not believe he reads the forum too ;-)

Either he reads the forum or answers the obvious questions by "taking in front".

"Both were played in today's crunch 1-0 win over Derby County, but Keane says it will take time for them to hit their true form. He said: "Deano is an important player for us but he has been out for three months and we are hardly in a situation where we can bed him in gently."

It seems as though he answered my comments also.

I'm somewhat surprised at Palos post.  Not the norm for him, but understand his expectation and frustration.  Just wondering Palos if you ever had a hamstring injury....and then had it re-injured when you thought you had healed properly.  A simple yes or no would answer a lot of questions.

If I were Keane (or any coach) I would not start any player coming off back to back hamstring injuries.

Football / Re: Stern: We have the experience to make it again.
« on: November 29, 2007, 09:25:31 AM »
I don't agree wid that TI.  There is NO substitute for real world experience.  A "half-squad" will most likely consist of players with little or no experience on the international stage.  Everything from the plane flight to the feeling of being in a new environment plays a role in the psyche of an individual player.  Come WCQ time it would be nice to know that whatever squad is selected, they ALL would have had some experience playing against foreign teams both at home and abroad.  Bottom line is... the build up to the game and the big stage should be "been there, done that".  That is what Stern is referring to when he says "We have the experience to make it again."

Personally, I don't really mind losing an occasional friendly.  As long as we can see some evidence of progress.  Life is NEVER about how or where you start off, its where you finish, and how high yuh could hold yuh head that counts.  The last WCQ campaign was evidence enough for that.  Let's get the mistakes out of the way early o'clock... and for heaven's sake lets get this whole "blacklist" S#!T out of the way early also.  The important thing is to find the right blend of hungry players to represent T&T.  Veterans hungry for chance to make it better this time around, and youngsters hungry to make a name for themselves.

All of us would have our "what ifs" regarding WC2006.  Imagine the amount ah "what ifs" running through Carlos, Stern, Tallest, Brent, Cornell, Latas and...yes.. even Hardest head regarding the last WC.  What if Hardest was even training with the squad prior to the Ash Wednesday game vs the USA.  I say mucho preparation.  The more the merrier.  Let us not underestimate anyone, not even the Cayman Islands.  Let's try to minimize surprises and "what ifs".
