Dang!!!!!  Balo is a BEAST!!!!!!

Ent! Nice goal! Why take an avoidable  yellow though ???

All cards are avoidable. Balo was one of the best players in the Euros last year, remember? He took off his shirt and got a yellow in that tournament, too and suspensions through card accumulation didn't become an issue for him so doh stress it.. He likes to take off his shirt and does it quite often Small ting.
Chow not nit picking or hating, I love Balo after all he is a Milanista  ;D but in the Euro when he did it was the semifinal of the Euro, next game was final. Big big difference.

They just don't get it. Where is the crowd? Football without fans in the stands is simply not football.
You are selling a product, that no one at the moment is buying, how the hell is that thriving?

Football / Re: Andre Baptiste: Leave Beenhakker out Gold Cup.
« on: June 12, 2013, 10:47:27 AM »
Instead it is to be used to engender hope and passion back into the sport. Beenhakker is not a development coach and his ability is a traditional coach who can motivate and inspire players, his efforts do not necessary lie in training and ensuring the growth of our young footballers.

The national team is not the place for a developmental coach anyway. Why is it after all these years people still talking about ah coach developing players at the national team level? Steups! Maybe daiz why we cyar see we way.

Correct Tallman. Player Development is a Club / School issue. The process of National U15-17-20 is part of the Development process, tied into Clubs / Schools. National Team development is part of formulating the National Team selection & that is limited since most National teams play around 10-12 games a year
AND ANDRE SHOULD KNOW THIS!!  after all, look how long he in football!

what he think, is dummies he talking too?? the man is just ah plain ole bigot, him , gally and forkin alvin. these guys are a facking embarrassment to football, and T&T!!

Germany's latest golden era of talent was the brainchild of Klinsmann, although he did get the clubs to buy into the process.  The clubs are obviously under standard, and so the unfortunately the national team has to fill the void.  We still need a structure that allows a more seamless transition from the various youth levels to the senior team, as too many talented players fall by the wayside.

I dont think he was the brainchild to be honest... he brought about enthusiasm but that Germany team at the World Cup in 2006 were not as good(overall play, better structure , better players) as the recent teams that got to the Euro final in 08 and semis in 10' and 12' of the World Cup and Euros respectively

Sammer is the man with the plan,  especially the young talent we now see as a feature in the German team : Gotze , Ozil, Reus, Schullre , Gundogan etc

About Sammer's role:
On 1 April 2006, he was appointed technical director of German Football Association (DFB), on a five-year contract. The position was new in the DFB at the time. It included responsibility for the national youth teams, focusing on young talents between the ages of eleven and eighteen, as well as incorporating the latest developments in sports science into the DFB's training theories. Sammer was also expected to work on a tactical system for all of Germany's national sides in close co-operation with national coach Joachim Löw.

Exactly so...what you are witnessing now, is as a result of that structure that was put in place.  You wouldn't expect to see immediate divident form a longterm talent development strategy, would you?  Not saying that he developed the talent, but he was the one that said Germany had to change its approach to the game, and that the clubs had to focus more on youth development.  He took this to the German association and there was extensive interaction with the club structure to implement the structure.

To the tune of 1 Billion over the last 10 yrs. The investment by the German Federation and Clubs was significant, both euros and man power. Most people ignore this fact and would rather talk about coaching

Question:

Why was Sheldon Bateau not selected? Indications are he has played both Midfield and Defense for his club.

Damani Richards was released from Philly
Don't think Betnick is still there either
Julius James is now with Carolina Railhawks, but has yet to see field (potential injury)
Carlyle Mitchell is on loan to Edmonton FC
Cato is with San Jose earthquakes and has been seeing some playing time
Kevan George has also seen some playing time in MF did well versus NY recently

« on: June 11, 2013, 03:36:14 PM »
I don't think it's T&T alone...Football all over the world have changed.  It's just that we are so low on the technical scale people notice.  But in this day and age it's not a dribblers game.  Except if you come round me on a Wednesday night and it's the first thing I do in the game.   ;D

Not sure I agree with that. Most good teams have a couple of players that will do some damage with dribbling. Just looking at the Euro U21, quite a few on view. Right now Argentina vs Ecuador, Montero, Valencia, DeMaria, etc all doing some serious damage. Colombia is a good example, they have two or three.

« on: June 11, 2013, 11:15:11 AM »
As far back as I can remember T&T Football always had good dribblers:

Watching the last two games, it is evident that this art seems to be dead in our
football. Or at least in the present selection.

Even watching a few pro league games and Intercol, it is rear to see some classic dribbling.

Where have the Deleon's, Gally's, Mitchell's, Llewlyn's, Neptune's, Clauzel's, Latapy's gone.

JA like they celebrate before the final whistle. What a bad goal to give up. One man pressure Bradley wide, man free in the box & 7 man around him. He receive and shoot before even 1 JA man could pressure the ball. Poor poor poor defending. I watch the whole game & JA play like they were scared. Man eh jamming at all, US midfield had space to rent, as a matter of fact intensity was at a minimum.

Robbie Earl dam right! For all the Instructors, coaching courses and certification in England they not producing any coaches of note. The best advice while doing those courses are, stay quiet, give them what they want , get your paper and then do your thing. Courses & certification do not guarantee the production of good coaches, anymore than University education creates good professionals. Mourinho did his certification in Scotland, under Andy Roxborough. He take what he like & his background knowledge & experience and move on.

Before Gally Cummings we had Dutch coach..de National Team looked like crap ..in came Gally Cummings the National team played the best football to date. After Cummings we had our ups and downs then we gone back to the Dutch..the football looked like crap..the football still crappy because we trying to use Dutch philosophy and don't know what we doing.
This is ruining our football. Look at the U17 team, Beenhakker team 06, and look at the way we played yesterday. That style of football is inhibitory to our players.

Coache what are you talking about! "Before Gally we had a Dutch Coach!"  Who was that Coache? I know you not talking about Jan Zwartkruis. Because he was brought in in 1981 as a TD to help with the Player development & advise Roderick Warner who was coach at the time. He did not stay more than a year. Could not handle the level of incompetence administratively & did not get support from many of our so called top coaches at the time. Back in 198-84 (not sure of dates) a number of our top players was banned from T&T representation due to playing in Premier. Roderick handled the team for the WCQ in 1985 & then I don't know who took over. Gally took over in late 1987.

19
If he coming back, I hope he brings a young coaching staff with him. Maybe Koeman or Rijkard.

Deeks Koeman & Rjkaard past the assistant stage. In their own right they are head coaches

I think JC you does take some of these things to deep.  Every game we lorse doh have to be a in deep thesis and Trinbagonian psychology.  Some time you just loose.  These fellas were out matched and under prepared that's about it.  Doh make it sound like they are incapable of success.  I wanna look forward to the GC so easy up.  :)
Breds, losing is when yuh get beat 3-2,  2 nill, 4-3, but when yuh collect four unanswered goals that is ah drubbing!

i doh take nothing deep, that's your opinion, but when yuh watching T&T football for over two decades and keep seeing the same short comings, then yuh must wonder if anyone's even paying fackin attention, ah mean how could the ppl in charge be soooo fackin clueless??!!

like i said, we were not less talented, as ah matter of fact we probably have more talent on the team than those guys, but it was clearly obvious that they were better equipped and better trained than us, and this is my beef,

we need to start taking things more seriously before we go out there and embarrass a whole fackin nation on account of our neglectfulness! aren't you tired of us being embarrassed like that when we obviously have the potential to do better??

The first part is a player development issue & it manifest itself in our youth & so called pro league football.
Things like fitness, intensity, speed of play etc. needs to be addressed. even the standard of pitches need to be addressed.

If I am being honest, I cannot be over critical, because if your working at a sprinting level of 10.5 seconds, you cannot come race day & run 9.8.

It's been said before but .....Lawd Abu Bakr Slow!
Dat defense bad bad bad!!!!

Collectively the back 4 and midfield have to work better. The gap is way too big & attackers turning and running at the back 4, always a recipe for disaster. IMHO the midfield need some serious work. Their positioning & recovery is non existent. In modern football if your backline doing all the defending around your box, something wrong.

Romania defending with 7 & 3 staying up for the counter attack. For some reason our 2 CMF pushing high & leaving gaps.
Romania have two phases, counter & a build up play mainly on the right side.
First goal both RB & Keeper sleeping
Second goal, we take long to close down the ball and Cyrus (I think) turn he back on the shot

When T&T have the ball the possession build up is good, but we one speed, don't know how to speed up the play or show any penetration.

Brasil not scaring anyone with that team. Defense was poor, Midfield defending nada & no striker that can make things happen.

Germany had over 50% of the team missing & looked it. So much for all the talk about depth in Germany.

Sutherland, Jeez. What to say about Suds. This short man had speed, ball control and  plenty football savy. Again, born the wrong time. TT had so much talent at the time, they did not know how to maintain and sustain these fellas. He just faded away like Skippy, Cazimir Wright, Ford, Danny, Wayne Smith, Balfour, Wayne Lewis, Brian Rigsby. Right now I only shaking meh head when I hear these names. It still have men like Gregory Martinez, Trevor Leiba, Lennox Laforest and Lookloy and many more from that era.

Suds was sick yes. Mervin Serju, Barry Rostant, Errol Stevenson, Steve Khan, Dave Ruben, jerry Lee Wing ballers for days

When I look around homes in T&T & people telling me that we should not exaggerate the situation I have to shake my head. The same person house inside, even the ceiling burglar proof. The facts remain 500+ murders with a population of 1.5 mil.  New York 414 murders with a population of 9 million

Well said Skip
Talk is nice but we want positive results!

Results are important, but right now it would be nice to see T&T show a long term projection for the team. Seriously, I think in the past
far too often we focus on short term results & simply operate in a knee jerk way. A complete rebuilding process needs to be
put in place, once the players know this, they can focus on improving themselves & the team performances with a focused mentality.
If not the football becomes a nervous type of game & performance. Several top coaches take time to build their teams. Look at Heynckes at Bayern. He said we learned from last year, built upon what we did well & worked hard to improve on our weaknesses. This is a club that works daily.
We as fans of T&T way too impatient. If the performance is  good one, but the result did not go your way. You have to look at what is important (at the time), build upon it & look to improve for when the result matters.
