We only edged them 1-0 at home with all of our players... And from the sounds of it, it wasn't the most convincing display...so losing 2-1 away from home is not that far fetched.
I think we have to look in the mirror and concede that we lack quality, and quit it with the superiority complex. We're stuck in a mindset that we're supposed to beat teams like Bermuda just by showing up...that's obviously not the case - they beat us at home a few years back, so this is not exactly a new development - so it really confuses me to hear the heads bark in shock at this result. How many awful results is it gonna take?
The shirt doesn't win games by itself - We have plenty plenty work to do...and I fear that all the work in the world isn't going to be enough. We need our players to exhibit true quality, and there's nothing so far to suggest that that quality even exist....
Well said my brother!!
You take the words out of my mouth! The gap has closed tremendously!! The writing was on the wall when we couldnt qualify for the Gold Cup. If we cyar make it as one of the top four in the Caribbean, then why should we think that we can seriously challenge for a top 3 spot in Concacaf.
ah love it!!
Why does this team always collapse
Because it panics whenever a wicket is lost. For example, how many times have West Indies gone from a score of 120/1 to 200 all out?
By contrast, how many times have we seen Australia recover from a score of 150/5 to 270 all out in one-dayers?
To use a real example, check out the scorecard from the West Indies played Australia back in the '96 world cup:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/65191.html
See how Australia was able to recover from 15/4 to 207/8 off 50 overs. By contrast, West Indies were 165/2 and ended up being bowled out for 202.
Our teams have always panicked in pressure situations.
This West Indian team needs a sports psychologist.
Seedorf is clearly an intelligent fella. Refreshing interview
Very.
Considering that these fellas often don't go far in school as they pursue their professional dreams, he's very lucid in his thoughts and expressions. He also has a very nuanced eye for diplomacy and the balance with forthrightness as well... in other words, knowing what to say, when to say it and how much should be said. Not everybody, school or no school understand that skill.
From the highlights that look like a real good game. Im proud of our young warriors. They have scored in both games and we can see the potential. If we keep building up this team, 2014 could be our year for massive celebrations. If we could increase the sharpness and killer instinct ... we can change narrow losses into wins. Keep working at it young Warriors!
Go young warriors! keep your heads up and look for some points and more goals in the next game
I cant believe Hyland is this bad
Nice goal by the Italians. Plenty heart and committment from our team, but other than maybe tracking that trailing player better there was nothing else that could have been done. Hyland really not looking all that good when he attacking.
This T&T side makes up for what it lacks in individual quality by being more compact and organized than any other T&T (youth) side I can remember seeing...It's nice to see us get that part of the game right for long periods....
I said it in the first game, and I'll say it again this game- I'm very proud of what I'm seeing by way of progress in our overall game by this squad.
Win lose or draw we have not looked out of place in this tournament, like we have in tournaments past.
