That was a good goal by jughead... It was in de oval, I tink we bus about 7 on dem that day.... I remember I took vacation from work and was working at the Expo to make some extra dollars... I runaway to the oval, and boy was it worth it.... Very good goal, but not the best in my terms....
A good goal for me can be classified in 2 ways.
1) The goal itself
2) The timing and the opponent.

Some great goals in my eye were. H. Charles against the US in the US.
Kerry bullet: Latapy against Guatemala. But to me the greatest goal ever, based on how I felt when the ball hit the back of the net have to be Dennis Lawrence against Bahrain.
No horse wrong game, wrong venue. u talkin bout T&T vs Martinique and Anton Thomas. Jughead score he goal against St. Vincent.

Everybody, talking bout great goals, but de older heads might remember dis goal Terry St Louis score from almost 30 yards out in a Shell Umbro Caribbean Cup, it was a scorcher .......older heads...tell dem
Jughead goal was boss but it might not make a top ten for me.
Consider these
Anton Thomas vs Martinique in d Oval in d  rain while Lara was bussin a 300+ elsewhere
Birchall - Bahrain
Leonson - Crystal Palace
Eve- Canada
Nkosi in d U17 World Cup
Either Jamerson goal - Guatemala
Hutson Charles - USA
the list goes on.

Football / Re: "Densill Theobald is Premiership Material"
« on: January 16, 2007, 09:46:13 AM »
I'm not sure how many of you saw the T&T vs. Martinique Digicel Caribbean Cup game last night, but one player definitely stood out from the rest - Densill Theobald.  His passing, defensive tactics, technique, control and confidence expressed a level of superiority that is not yet possessed by any of the other players on the team.  Quite frankly Densill Theobald is Premiership Material.  Just a few out of order words cost him that in Scotland - it clearly had nothing to do with professional skill.  There is no question that he should be this team's captain, and  that he should continue to be featured in the senior team.

There are other notable players.

Leslie Fitzpatrick who was a constant menace for Martinique on that left side, although I don't see him challenging Samuel for that left side position as yet.

At half time the commentators, were virtually calling for Gary Glasgow's removal, however, he delivered the goods twice in the second half.  All in all though, I don't see him challenging Stern any time soon.  I actually think that given the number of easy open chances that this team had, had Stern been present the scoreline would have looked like that of an 'American Football' game.

Hayden Tinto, who came on in the 66th minute is definitely senior national team material.  He has potential.  If the team is missing Carlos Edwards, Tinto can comfortably fill the void.

Kerwin 'Hardest' Jemmot did not impress me - and this is not a diss to TI.  Rather, TI please call Hardest and tell the man that he needs to step up his game - Theobald and Tinto are looking much better than he is, and they are more game impacting than he is.  As far as comparisons to Latapy, some were saying 20 out of 10 and 8 out of 10 for Hardest - not even close - I say 4 out of 10.  Had Latapy been on that field, that game would have ended early because of the fighting Martinicans (did i spell that right?).

All in all I think that it was a decent performance by a very inexperienced team.  I don't believe that this team could replace our world cup squad entirely, rather the best could be included and the worst/older ones of the World Cup team could be replaced.

We talkin bout d game in the stadium last night or d one u was watching during the blackout?
Theobald was ordinary at best. Jemmot did do bad but didn't take command as he should. Man of the Match was Kerrry Baptiste who by the way should be the captain. Tinto had an impressive introduction.
Overall d fellas gettin better with time.

It was not the best because the best is yet to come. Go Warriors!

Play of the game!
Tinto call a man and twist him bad on the right side before he get kick down. It look baddddddddddddd!

Don't know if i'm the only one thinkin this, but I believe we should appeal to FIFA for the red card suspension of Avery.
Avery's tackle wasn't even a foul. It's just that the Swedish player's sold it and d dotish ref buy it.
Although everyone played like warriors, I must give a special big up to Avery John (hope he could read this) for the fight and for not reacting and takin the teef call like a man cause the average player in the heat of the battle would have vented.
Avery is a major part of our defense and does not deserve to miss the next game. Doh know if the TTFF is considering this move  - they should.
Thank you Avery.

Ah doh know if anybody mention it but one major event was d ill-fated Female teacher's race that turn into a grope-a-thon for some thirst form 4's and 5's. Ah believe me and FF was up in the pavillion wit d rest of the Fom 6's knockin cards and givin "sweet talk" to some overly-flattered Compre girls.
The eventual winner was unofficially Ms B**m**t, by a show of hands (or fingers). Ah tink Ms C**t**k and Ms W*l**n was in dat race too. All d years we there, nobody was ever so thirst to tink of sabotaging the teachers race like that. But dem youths in Form 4 & 5 take the cake.
That was a scene, dread!

Football / As good as our 2006 squad is, consider this . . .
« on: November 29, 2005, 08:11:55 AM »
Many players on this team who will get experience in Germany will be in their prime for South Africa and form the core.

Check this the 2010 sqaud could include (God spare life) members of this campaign

Atiba Charles, Sancho(in his twilight and possibly the skipper), Wolfe, Spann, Birchall, Scotland, Jones, Glen, Edwards, Theobald, Whitley (in his twilight), Sealey.

Hopefully some more good defenders and keepers will emerge. With all these guys that would still be playing I think the 2010 campaign could see us qualify as #1 or #2 from CONCACAF.
Of course this hinges greatly on having proper programs in place and smooth succession of Beenie if he is not around for 2010. If he is, well that would be great.

As I said some new defenders would need to be blooded, but imagine still having these guys as attacking options.

Midfield - Spann,Birchall, Theobald, Whitley, Edwards
Forwards - Scotland, Jones, Glen, Sealey.

I believe we will do better than the skeptics suggest in Germany but I think in South Africa and beyond we will be a menace to everyone.

Go Warriors!

It's the 90th minute,
the score is 1-1 (for some reason),
We get a genuine penalty,
First question - Who should take it?
and
Second Question - Knowing that someone will score a winning goal, which player mostly deserves to be that player and labelled "the hero /the man who took us to Germany?"

Note: I know the whole team deserves credit cause this campaign has been a total team effort.

Porterfield casts eye over T&T vs Bahrain
By John Duerden (FootballAsia.com)

As the K-League draws to a close, Busan I’Park boss Ian Porterfield finds his attention, like much of the football world, drawn to the World Cup Play-Offs and the Bahrain versus Trinidad and Tobago match in particular holds special interest for the Scotsman.

As well as coaching in the region with the Oman national team and recently crowned AFC Champions League champions Al Ittihad in the mid-to-late nineties, Porterfield was the coach of Trinidad and Tobago from 2000 to 2002 and is thus well-qualified to comment on the vital game.

“It’s going to be hard for Bahrain as Trinidad and Tobago have some good and experienced players,” said the 59 year-old whose wife hails from the Caribbean republic.

“Dwight Yorke and Russell Latapy are up there with the best and there are a number of players who ply their trade in lower leagues in Europe and the USA and are seasoned professionals.”

“Trinidad and Tobago have good support and the atmosphere will be intense, the team has won their last three games and confidence is high, especially after coming from behind to beat Mexico,” said the ex-Chelsea man, who then offered some advice to Bahrain’s boss Luka Peruzovic.

“Everything will depend on how Bahrain handle the first game the long flight and the climate. Bahrain must get a result of some kind. The key is concentration. The players must focus, not for short periods, but for the game as a whole.”

The Asian team has already made it through one play-off, squeezing past Uzbekistan in a controversial two-legged affair.

“I felt that Bahrain was a little fortunate but I used to play games there in the nineties with Al Ittihad and Oman and the standard of football has really improved. They have come a long way.”

The players and officials representing the tiny Gulf nation have a long way to travel over the next few days but will be desperate to board a World Cup bound plane for the first time next summer.

Bahrain and Trinidad and Tobago lock horns at the Hasley Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain on November 12 before heading back to Manama for the return game four days later.

His comments were decent.Like dey ketch him when he was sober.
Sounds as though he tellin Bahrain, " Allyuh stand a good chance ah gettin a cutarse".

Football / Great ungratefulness will not keep us from greatness.
« on: October 22, 2005, 04:37:35 PM »
I am totally disappointed in JA for what they did but at the same time there are many reasons why Bahrain ploy will not work.
1. Jamaica plays nothing like us - not even close. Yes they beat T&T in the Cup but what T&T team did they beat? Not the this present one!
2. Bahrain is not better than us. This team is not to be taken lightly, but we are supposed to put them away.
3. The plan fuh Bahrain, I believe, is to acclimatise to our tropical conditions.Well we playin in the night because most of we players playin in Europe so a cooler time is better for them.Climate was never a major advantage to me.
4.Jah doh sleep.

But fellaz ah seeing a trend in CONCACAF when it come to ungratefullness towards we. Didn't Costa rica benefit the most from us beatin Honduras last time, but yet they sell out to Guatemala.
USA - well ah doh even have to explain.
And now Jamaica. Well ah hope they could take the US$ and build hurricane resistant stadium, cause from now on they on they own.
Besides Jah , Jack doh sleep either.

Go Warriors!

« on: September 09, 2005, 12:51:01 PM »
The first tiebreaker is points of course, then

2. Goal diff
3. Goal scored
4. Head to Head?

The reason I asked is because i read on fifa.com that Mexico is on top the table.
http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/050909/1/4lun.html

Last Paragraph

Mexico's passage to Germany, which had been temporarily put on hold by the USA, was finally secured against Panama, and in some style. With pride at stake, Mexico held nothing back at the Azteca Stadium, running in five goals without reply against the Central Americans. Though not exactly compensation for the chastening defeat in Ohio, the comprehensive victory went some way to lifting the spirits of those fans still smarting from that reverse. And there was further consolation for Mexico. The final goal of the game, scored by midfielder Pavel Pardo, absent from the USA game, put El Tricolor back on top of the table by virtue of having scored more goals than the Stars and Stripes.

However the table fifa.com has, shows USA on top.
Whaz d scene with that?

Football / We are heading to Asia - fire bun d waggonists
« on: September 08, 2005, 07:28:12 AM »
We are in a better position than Guatemala to get the 4th spot and ah hearin men talkin about realise the inevitable???
Fire bun all who think we done.We will qualify via the play off.Panama have two less first team players when we face them on the 8th. We have all ours - enter Kenwyn Jones!
Last night we had a tough game and we came up short - hard luck. We weren't steamrolled and we had chances. I believe Beenie made a mistake in not starting Sancho and as much haterz here doh like Avery John, he was sorely missed. We can fix that for the Panama game and get the win. Mexico will give Guatemala a dread blowout so goal difference will be taken care of and we could  breathe easy and draw at home to Mex.
So whaz all this talk about not going Germany.
Alyuh mad ah what!
Go Warriors!

Football / Re: Crunch time for T&T Warriors
« on: August 24, 2005, 12:51:54 PM »
A win against GUA and a draw in CR will propel us to 3rd place, providing that PAN beats CR. CR Goal differece is just 1 more than ours and GUA not beating USA. Even if PAN wins I think they are virtually out since they still have USA and MEX (away) to play which leaves them with realistically one point possibility (draw vs USA) from those two games.
A big win vs GUA will take care of our Goal difference against them since I predict that MEX will make plummet theirs even further at MEX. It's actually great that we didn't lose badly to either USA or MEX.
A point vs PAN will be our ticket to Germany/Uzbekistan or Bahrain. A win is hotel reservation at the Hilton in Munich. So the MEX game will be a celebration in the Stadium.

Crime rate will go down.
Oil price will go up
Lara, Bravo, Ganga, Ramdin go be on the WI starting 11.
Kenwyn Jones & Spann will be signed by AC Milan, Glen by Rangers, Sealy by Liverpool
Birchall will be fought over by Chelsea & Man U
PFL highlight will be on the Spanish Sportcenter.

Winning goal suggests a close scoreline. Yuh mad ah what! Stern John might score when he come on but not the winner! I am sure we would repay Guatemala for what we got in our first game!

Go Warriors!

25
We have to play with four in the back against Guatemala to eliminate the Ruiz threat. At home we are more adventurous and play a better brand,so I would go for a 4-4-2 which will occasionally evolve into a 4-3-3.
To start                 Jack

 Atiba Charles               Sancho                A. John

                                Andrews
Edwards/Whitley                                      Spann
                           Birchall        Latas

                                   Yorke
                                                 Jones

I see Sealy coming on to run against a tired defense- poacher's paradise. If Whitley doesn't start he may come on as well as Samuel on the left. I think Noray should be called for this game. His speed will do rell damage. If Birchall does get a chance to play alongside the "Magician" it will change him forever.
Go warriors !!!!

My score is TNT 2 - USA 1.
T&T takes lead (Andrews) early then surrenders it in the 85th (offside goal) and then Skipper Yorke break away to break every Yankee heart with the final kick of the game.
Arena job in Jeopardy after.
Mexico 6 - Costa Rica 0 - Blow out, CR demoralised
Guatemala 1 - Panama 1 - stalemate, Ruiz gets a yellow card after elaborate celebration (idiot)
