Ok Touches you have some valid point, but as supporters ah doh really blame men for thinking we can beat those 2 teams..dat is what supporter are for. What are you saying, if you have a chile in form 3 bright enough to take cxc, you go tell them prepare for failure? nah, you go tell them go out there and give it your all, do your best, you can do it, if you fall short at least you compete with the other form 5s. What happen to "shoot for the moon and if you miss, at least you would be among the stars" I say we can beat whoever we put our mind to beat and if we play good ball we in the mix. We could play hard, now we just have to learn how to play sensible ball. Dais my piece!

Big Up!

well said...
I don't give T&T more than dey due but I still hope.... daz what fans do... and that is the beauty of this site... I could find more trinis who share in my hope and genuinely care bout de team....
Touches... yuh sound like a rel direct and logical fella but a little big talk and sometimes day dreaming ent bad because in the end we all carry the same hope for the team....

« on: March 20, 2006, 04:53:00 PM »
Qualifiers and WC is 2 different kettle of fish, friend.  The world's eyes will be upon us in the WC.  Take for instance what he did against Bahrain.  If that goal had score no amount of brilliant saves would have made up for it.  He is extremely gaFFE prone.  Witness the US game.  There is a huge difference between letting goals a better keeper  could save and being gaffe prone and gifting the likes of Ibrahamovic and Rooney goals.  My friend if u take a spot kick and kick it to either of them 2 fellas on the 18 yard box is goal no ifs ands or buts about it.

I ent go lie... a mistake resulting in a goal would be hard for our team to come back against....
Shaka is my choice but... give Jack his jacket... he has come up with some good saves.... in terms of a shot stopper he probably is the best of the bunch...
Meh heart does skip a beat when he goin for a airball .... He awfull at judging those...
For the WC i think Shaka is the man.... but I'm cool with Jack... he's done well for us so far....

Carlos, whitley and Samuels... I would vote Samuels... solid player
Yorke and Latas could do it... but I feel teams would be expecting it from them
Carlos is the man on the right... hadda improve on the crosses but he have the ability to cause men stress... he had the Mexican defenders spinnin all over the place....
Whitley is the man... he not afraid to take on defenders and he strong for a lanky mid

Is not only football missin...
other sports not there...we could even agrue for cricket since most of the commonwealth countries play it

to have those sports would require a great amount of funds and organisation... and the commonwealth games ent that big

by the way... if any of allyuh followin we track team...
Marc Burns, Darell Brown win in their heats...jacey Harper ent make it.... all the heats were rel slow... about 10.5 seconds (Asafa Powell 10.53)
Fana qualify with a fast 4th position...
The second round should be goin on all now so...

At least he trying to get loan.

What really going on with Ince ???  Ah think he way to content with he position. Cyah see he going on the plane. Sancho still have ah chance...it gettin slimmer but a chance nontheless.

True Ince should start movin too if he could.... Jack does handle himself good but I still find Ince more reliable.... I don't trust jack on the corners... he doesn't judge well in the air but he's probably the best shot stopper of all of them...

Could be used for safety but could have some negative effects... like meh gyal trackin me down to see if I hornin she... pressa :)
for kidnappin in T&T.... boy we need anyting we could get....
T&T would need some serious leaps before we reach to that point.... and as things go back home... criminals does turn genius when findin ways to beat de system....

Dey stupid.... if they let him go on loan... he could play... posibbly make the WC team (I think he have a good chance wit some more playin time).... and trust me his price would increase if he show up in de WC.... At the end, he worth much more and they could cash in much more when dey sell him for next seaon... dat beat what they doin now.... hoggin de man and simply wasting his talents because of a stupid grudge... As it is right now... noboby benefitin... in fact is ah loss for both Sancho and de Club...

Sancho's conduct as far as the club is concerned was gross perfidy. He played his hand, now it's Gill's turn .... that's how it goes >:(

yeah but at the end of the day in club football... money talks and ethics is secondary... they lossin his value each day....

Wow who would have thought it... Costa Rica with no high placed executives have become a consistent force in CONCACAF

What is de main difference with Trinidad and Tobago football and Costa Rican football?? hmmmm

A thiriving football culture along with ah solid profitable professional league firmly entrenched in the grassroots....

A successful youth program that has qualified multiple youth teams to World Cups.. compare this to TNT's lone qualification....

A solid National Team program... emphasizing on continuity and team growth.... no setta hiring and firing of coaches... no setta interference from the "Administrators"

PROPER ACCOUNTABLE CAPABLE ADMINISTRATION!!!

Now warmonga ask yuhself

WHY our football culture is dead?
WHY or WHO is responsible for taking football away from the grassroots and communities!
WHY we have had SEVEN National team coaches in the last 6 years.... and countless other foreign flops and recycled locals during the nineties?
WHY we have had upper level administration hiring and firing players and coaches at a whim?

Keep asking questions warmonga.... yuh on de path to enlightenment

Just remember... a broken clock bound to tell de right time twice a day

well put FF
I agree wit yuh....
They have the ability and the resources to step up the level when they need it in the qualifiers... that's why they have become a powerhouse in de region... it ent luck...they inconsistent while they do it but at the end of the day they reach where they hadda reach...

Hey what about Whitley giave Whitley a shot too man
he go get he OWN press time, wait an see

true... good things comes to those who wait

I feel whitley is de man to make the bigest jump after the WC... it is overdue..
Birchall i feel would move up the ranks in England (especially wit the publicity he gettin already)... possible the EPL... he lacks the fluidity in midfield to get a break in other Euro leagues
but Whitley and Spann (barring injury) I could see them makin it to other european leagues...
I would like to see Whitley in Spain or Italy...
we go see....

Football / Re: Villareal the only real left in the competition
« on: March 16, 2006, 09:11:25 PM »
I know you all might be fed up with me and this Villareal crusade but everyone has his pet peave ....
Long gone are the Chelsea, Madrid and Ajax fans so there might be those who would now be wondering how Villareal is still there . Well I did say we would have preferred Inter and that was before the draw and before the final game against Ajax so I cant back down now.
The yellow submarines should not still be considered rank outsiders. I know someone posted a final 8 earlier and deliberately left out Villareal but I am sure they are wiser now.
This is a good team playing good football. You dont finish 3rd behind Barcelona and Real in the spanish league and not be a good team. You dont win a group which included manchester united and Benfica and be a weak team.
I chose inter because I want to see the match up between Veron and Riquelme. I still blame Veron for Argentina's loss in the last WC. Pekerman has not even given Veron a game during his stint in spite of Maradona and others who are plugging for him. It will be a battle of the Argentinians trying to impress Pekerman with Zanetti, Cambiaso, Veron, Cruz, Solari, Killy gonzalez vs Riquelme, Sorin, Gonzalo, Barbosa with the Argentinian born Arruabuena and Franco thrown in for good measure.
I expect everyone still in to hold on to their team so I say again ... be careful of the yellow submarines !

I agree wit yuh dey a much better side than ppl give them credit....
is all BIG NAMES callin!!!!!
Watch Benefica... few people woulda predict them lickin up Liverpool

good side... yuh never know... a side would be stupid to overlook them

Football / Re: Henry is Ours, Say Barca!!
« on: March 16, 2006, 08:35:58 PM »
I think he would fill in well for Larsson (not in the heading department). Yuh could imagine him and Messi on a counter attack.....lawd ... dat deadly
But knowing Barca history.... they known for beefin up the price on a player that they know a rival want, example Denilson (beef the price up then pull out and nobody even realised Betis was interested till the big signing) some years back.... I wouldn't be suprised if that is the case....

I wish Real could get him though.... they wanted him some years back and instead wound up gettin ah overrated Anelka (one of the worst buys of their history)... They probably need a striker like him more than Barca does....

As for Torres.... he is a good striker for Arsenal and I hope for his sake he moves.... he is a strong, fast and deadly striker (Not to the quality of Henry) but dangerous still.... If he was at another club wit a better mid he would show up more..

Penalty shoot-outs, with three or four points for a win after 90 minutes, two points for a win after penalties and one point for a defeat after penalties

Usually games come down to penalty kicks in a knock out.... points wouldn't really matter at that point... the winner is the winner

That point system might open up the game a little but suddenly a win wouldn't just be a win and a loss just a loss
Would make more sense for league....

Fifa could use that in their point system for the rankings... Now that seem to make more sense to me!!!

Mexico is ah solid team but lackin that little creativity yuh need to win out the tournament...
I think they should make it out of the group but would find it hard commin up against Argentina, Holland or even Ivory Coast

This is one of the best Mexico teams we've seen for a while especially when you look at how much depth they have but to win out the tournament ... that tough

That was no under 21 team breds.... The coach was tryin new players....I wouldn't even go as far as to call it the B team... thay had good players like Franco  (score recently versus Ghana) who the coach was lookin at...
They were missin a few big names like Marques and Borgetti but it was far from a u-21 side in Port of Spain..

Whitley, good choice.... Carlos will probably go if he real show up this summer... Spann is really the easiest choice... Stern ( I feel he could go to another league)

What I want to see is how much of our players going to make an impression good enough to where other leagues would want them.?.. like the Spanish, Italian, etc...
