I'm not knocking the others on this forum- I mean the press and the general English public. I appreciate the opinion of real football fans but the british public find it easier to poan about the team becasue they don't want to big the team up because we might lose. I still think that we are going to win the cup and I have no interestin other England "fans" who say other wise. You have every right to your opinions and to be fair we aren't playing the best footy and Owen is a real loss but why be pesimistic!?!

 I think that we're playing like the Germans in the last world cup and it seem to work for them!

You guys like the African teams came to the finals as underdogs and are leaving as heros. You played with passion, conviction, integritty and most importantly off all, with a smile on your faces.

It makes me feel a little ashamed to be English seeing you guys and reading this thread. Any excuse in this country to rip on our team- especially Mr Errikson and Becks. You give your team maximum support and now the whole world is looking forward to wathcing the Trini party next time round.

Noiw you know what has to be done- your coach is clearly very switched on and he can prepare you for next time. With the greatest of respect it is fair to say that one of our subs for example Carragher, is worth more than your entire squad and yet you nealry held us. This is not the tactics of a garbage manager. You have the players and now their profile will rise- they'll move to bigger better clubs and come back to play for the warriors even better.

If you ask me your island in the sun just got a little brighter

I notice that there is alot of common sense on here but there is also alot of the usual England bashing. We have done what we've had to in every game we've played- we topped the group and now we're in the quarters. We've won 3 and drawn 1- only letting in 2 goals whilst scoring 6. That's pretty good form if you ask me.
Now we play a Portugal side with 3, possibly 4 of their best players missing! We've got to fancy our chances really as we do have quality all the way throught the team

By the way your lads, especially Yorke and Chrissy B were exceptional against England and showed some real spirit. You did your selves proud on and off the pitch and I look forward to seeing your players and fans  in South Africa in 4 years!

How does that work!?! The standard of Scottish football is well below that of ours in England- and it's f**king freezing there and always rains too!

Can't believe the news- well done! Vale have their first player at the world cup!
I hope that we don't draw you in the group and that all the Vale fans can sit back and watch you guys enjoy yourselves.
By the way, I don't know how important the press is to you guys but Chris Birchall is in all the nationals over here- he's getting cult status!

Greetings TnT from the home of Chris Birshall and Hector Sam.
Just a quick note to say that all the Vale fans are rooting for you against Bahrain (we're even ordering your shirt into our club shop!)! Obviously Hector is injured but we hope "Me Mum" does the business for you and comes back injury free. He's home grown talent at Vale Park and is held in very high esteem by all the fans for the commitment that he shows week in, week out (dodgy haircut though!). I hope that he shows you the same and that he and Hector become Port Vale's first ever players to figure at the World cup finals.

If any of you want to talk about Chris there's a great fan site- www.onevalefan.co.uk which is full of Chris' fans who would be more than willing to give you any info you need.

Good Luck and I  migh see you at the world cup if can't score any England tickets!
