Ok. Let's not call them asst. coaches, let's call them CITs. (no not chinese sh*t's, hey I made a funny) Coaches in Training, observing each of the assistants, yuh may not even have to pay them. What Leon don't want anybody to learn his magical tricks? Are mirrors involved? However a good investment would be to have a few future coaches prospects learn the tricks, especially behind closed doors.i.e. Selection, player analysis, proper system/player evaluation and  adaptation. If he doesn't want that, then he don't really care about our successes. Cause chance are that is all we can get out of this deal.

BTW Triniman: The local coach is a student. This ain't no cat-in bag/cigarette smoke  operation, this is a Country yuh dealing with. Long term investment etc..etc..

........... if we don't Leo might get killed and will be blamed,so let Leo do his thing he says he can take us there how he going to do that no one knows.I see why Leo wants Latapy as a player and not as a Coach because it's easier to deal with him as a player.
        Coop's

Only disagrre with 2 points...as qouted above..
 1. Leo's says he will try is best to take us to the WC, not that he can or cannot.
2. If he fails, BSC and TTFF has already been blamed.
3. Leo and his staff are in a win-win situation . Only T&T if we must repeat this same process, includes Jack and everybody else stand a major chance to Lose. Unless we demand somebody on that coaching staff, we can lose everything, even then we may still lose everything, if that person does not stay home. ( as they may then leave to expand their expertise/horizons). for me thats scary

Maxg,
When people start talking about colonialism/imperialism I can't help think they are themselves exhibiting some form of mental slavery/paranoia.  It gives the impression of languishing in victimization mode, of feeling weak and inferior....perhaps exhibiting some form of traumatization.

Wanting to always prove that our locals better than them(people who coming to help) or just as good sound like an inferiority complex.
Anyone who is truly confident won't jump to conclude it's a world conspiracy or be so sensitive when decisions invovling foreign entities are made.

Imagine if Atkinson was the coach....Call it for what it is but this rounds that colonial/imperialist story holds no water at all if you look at the facts.
Just my opinion and given the sensitivity of the topic I hope I didn't offend but I felt I had to say something.

I AGREE

My only concern through all of this, is given the present situation, if we don't have a local assistant coach in the mix, we would have to constantly repeat the same process come every WC qualification.
Maxg THEM black americans rubbing off on yuh

I DISAGREE , mostly because
 1. I am not in contact with many americans for thier beliefs and values to rub off, In fact I don't know what the majority of Black americans belief really are.
2. Don't judge my beliefs on a factual historical statement made by me.

When a plumber come to fix a pipe in yuh house does he come and use your tools?  No.  So why Leo cyah walk with his own assistants?

This has nothing to do with local competency in the coaching arena, but more with a) comfort with people that have worked together for many years, b) efficiency, as regards communication and getting the job done right the first time, and most importantly, c) the recogntion that T&T is presently in a hole and with only 7 games remaining time is of the essence, the team must perform well NOW as opposed to later or eventually.

Why men always quick to see the negative in every action???

Maybe it have something to do with History...forgive the un trusting..

White men came from a land far away, they brought with them, baubles and mirrors, we gave them our gold and our women, They left with our gold, left our women with deseases.
or on another continent
White men came from a land far away, they found us fighting each other, they took our diamonds and sided with us to defeat our enemies. We shared our enemies loot, when our enemies were vanqished they took them away to another land ridding us of them. When they took all our enemies, they started enslaving and taking us. We were left disbanded and dysfunctional.

But sure is the best thing for us to get to Germany (Jewel), and there is another mirror, to see how we go look once there.

Local man fighting mongst self is the problem, Outsider just seeing oppurtunity to do a honest wuk. right? riiighhhtt

I will dead with laugh doh, if these 1 asst.s getting the equivalent of what Latapy asked for.

Ah wonder if we have de same disdain for the likes of Errol Grimes with his huge compensation package? ??? What is he doin' for de country? ... Ah well de beat goes orn  >:( >:( >:(

Doc
I am not familiar with Errol Grimes, please fill me in. Thks.

I do not have any disdain for Latapy, or Yorke for that matter. It for the powers that be that can and should make decisions in the interest and Favor of Trinidad & Tobago. Latapy has every right to ask for whatever he wants. The decision makers should not give anything they want. Likewise, all that Jack Warner has done for himself and T&T football, I genuinly admire him for it. On the same note I don't think one man should be making the decisions that affect everybody in T&T football. Obviously the individual can afford to make mistakes and deal with the reprecussion for himself, but can a Country afford the mistakes of one individual....Other docs come to mind, foreign and local (Rudder again)

Shotta, Simoes and staff contract was worth 600,000 usd /year alone, not counting players fees, accomadations and travel etc.

Unless we win. Our federation ain't seeing a penny. If we get the minimum, we can't even afford to payback Jack, farless the program getting something.
What you hope for is World awareness, and economics associated with such. However, given our present social situation, people may still be running the wrong way...

I think we will go from the frying pan to the fire, or fire to the frying pan, either way, things have to restructured.

I might be wrong but my observation is very few people are given long term contracts today, management is usually very cautious about being stuck with some one that's not produceing, they rather extend a contract if the individual is doing well, any time you sign up some one is a chance you are taking,it's all business.
it's all business.

That is the part that has removed lots of the desire and national dedication for us. "What is in this transaction for me ?'
Not as much for other countries but maybe due to our management or lack of, especially us

1. Latas looking out for himself, since everbody else does (since before las rongs)
2. Has become so since a long time, it just took longer to reach our footballers.
3. I am and was totally against bringing both Latapy and Yorke back.(if they really cared, would anybody have been able to keep them away)
4. This is not a TTFF issue, this a National issue. This fast life and encouraging of selfish ways must stop. Our young and future must not feel, that kidnap and/or holding ransom is the most viable means of survival. Cause everybody doing it is a bullshit/cop-out excuse. This our National Hero so it's allright.

What was that old lypso went like "Love the one who love you".

Cancer cells were once good cells, until they start to misbehave, and act differently and multiplies and transfers this erratic behaviour, until it stifles all normal systems and eventually causes the death of the host. Therefore it is necessary to nip in the bud or slow down it's proliferation by treating it properly before it is too late . How late is not to late for T&T.

Dun Talk bout dat. I will now await the powers that be decision. Sell all souls for the chance at a piece of gold.

Dis topic have men busy on Big Soccer

A whole 3 pages just about that trade.

One of them gave Glenn's salary at roughly 100K for people who were wondering what the MLS salaries are like for our players.
Sounds close to what someone posted before..maybe a lil higher.

I didn't know this answer, so I looked it up.

It is from the Cold war days, and had not much to do with economics.
1st World : US and it's allies
2nd World: USSR and it's allies
3rd World: All countries that did not support one or the other, or to small to matter.

Today a more used term is Developed, less developed, under-developed.

Oh no?
Is Trinidad one?

That came from this site. T&T Clubs

OFF TOPIC

It's a pet peeve of mine that too often we say Trinidad or Tobago like they are two separate countries and not two separate locations within T&T.

In that list there to my mind if Granville is listed as Tobago then Jamers should be East or St. George's East.

I try my best whenever anyone asks where I'm from to say Trinidad and Tobago even though it might be more expedient to say Trinidad, same thing with Trini and Trinbago.

Looking at the list again though I see that it is a moot point since Stuart Charles doesn't have his country of origin listed either.

Interestingly, I had a conversation with a VP of a major International Company, and he asked, my wife and I , "Why do you always say Trinidad & Tobago. Is it two seperate countries?" His point was , There are associated islands in close proximity with Italy, or France  for example. The whole is called France. Why T&T. So we said two Island, one nation. He didn't get it. "Why not one nation, one name?"

Anyway, for me, I have grown away from it. That is why I can't get into the division thing. North, South, East, West, Trinidad, Tobago, Indian, African. Living away for awhile, my experiences involve B&W. To the "below" avg. foreigner, Trinidad & Jamaica &Tobago, same khaki pants. :D

Sorry you were probably to young.
He and ah another articulate man. Macom, were Residents and lecturers at "The University of Woodford Square". I only heard Macom lecture once on football, as politics and social commentary were their main subjects. But of course, to the majority, as eloquent as they could speak, and as much sense as they made...they were mad as hell, cause they could not be bought, or made to shut up as far as the plight of their people were concerned...Mad men cause they did not take money, only food and clothes.

yes, I was a little guilty as charged, not because I think it is a non-factor, but I don't think it is a critical factor. thus yes, made lite of it. Every experience is valuable, for many the trick is application of that knowledge.

Questions.
When Pele hit World Cup, was he a better player next World Cup due to last WC or due to natural devellopment, or Maradona ?
On coaches, does playing in a WC, make an individual a better coach ?
How many players who played in a World Cup, went on to be a successful coach ? then look at how many successful coaches, who never played in a WC.

OH. THAT PART I know.

Look any Black man( not only the colour, the mind) including Pele did take over as T&T coach. It woulda be, wha he accomplish lately. Who he coach to win, he thiefin we money, wha he know bout coachin and we... BeenHakker come, well is ah new beginning, we stand a chance, is serious business now, some bawl Finally...If dey did keep Simoes, all kinda hope and chance.... If we lose, is TTFF, Warner, and St. Clair..
Yeah Rodney, ah know that part. I could face that.
Ah really want to hear, How Fenwick and these other guys see, not along the lines of easy kai and dunzai.but along the lines of game play What made his reading of the English game incorrect, and our game so very correct. Is it just motivation?speed? tenacity?mentality?skill?fitness?training?vision?

nb. yuh could be Black and not viewed as being Black, and yuh could be White and not viewed as being White..It is all a matter of Perception.

what is so different in his style. that he had Jobloteh winning, and in England, could only get 2 draws and 5 losses, and the boot thereafter.
What is it about him that he has such communication with our guys, or beating our guys, and couldn't transfer this to beat his own, or motivate his own countrymen. Interesting.

Being away 2 years, does he still have it ? Can he do it again, time frame?
Will like to hear an interview with this guy, He obviously is very connected to Trini now.
Local based, hook im up please, if possible, if we can understand how to beat ourselves, we can learn to fix those aspects.
