There a couple of old Civic centre men here. We just celebrated one's 80 th B-day. Imagine me and this man was Team-mates...The man was 47-49 was on the bench, pllaying 1 div. Football (right back),National league. He retired from playing fete-match at 70. His last play was a practice, drop a beat on a man, and then dun right dey. His name is Conrad Keith, and was an organzier, and chief pudding man for Civic centre. Still very active with our club, I will seek him out and try to get that info, but probably only next week. Our fete-match coach is also 'Rugged Tom', and if yuh know how Tom like to talk, he give nuff run down on Paragon and 'Govie'. He also coached Belmont (la Forest bros) back in the day. I will try him too.

I just cyar make the practices this week, and plus it would be cutting into dey drinking/limin time.

I thought Tom came on here, and would respond. I will try to direct him..give meh a lil time. Matter fact Tom, could say a lil something about most of the older clubs.

But how are our players suppose to get into these more established leagues that will be better for them again? They just go and they will be selected?

I missed that part.

Actually I have been attacked, and all you need to do is read this thread.  People (ie Trini's) can act like ignorant pr**ks, but you say nothing.  Then I post a game report with play-by-play (which is not my favourite format),  and I am some how disrespecting the board !  Where in the  forum rules is that stated ?
It's a format used around the world.  To state that it 'disrespects'  the board is just another attempt to silence a non trini and cover for the ignorance on this board by certain Trinis.

Fury, you are the one acting ignorant. You have been told it is not necessary to post that format, so what you do? You post it again, even though you admit it is not your style of doing so. So you went out of your way to offend. When it was made quite clear that it is offensive. You claim that you are attacked by some Trinis', so what you do is attack the intelligence and purpose of the board members, because people are opposed to that type of posting.(little brain comment). So when you refer to people acting foolish, and you choose to respond in kind, is that Ok. or just as foolish ? Chill nah...Nobody didn't say don't post, people just ask that you don't post the unneccessary crap..if you continue to go that way, then don't talk about 'you don't know', you do have another agenda.

6371
and if we don't get that, we dead then?
Can we can get a goal scoring somebody else just in case, or at the same time? I am sure Stern will eventually find the net, But we can put our whole chances right now in dem 2 foot. If we don't score for sure we dead.

So if ah want to know bout possible trini coaches and players and how they developing, yuh saying it shouldn't be here ? So wha all the scouting talk bout then, It have a man playin for Impact here, people here don't want to know how he developing, cause it is a Canadian team..
Buh people here does follow Brazil, man have Chelsea, Arsenal, Milan as dey symbol. an when yuh have to interact with somebody is all kinda ruff and run dem ting...

Excuse meh eh, run him, I will go Voyageurs site to find out bout meh boys.. buh when dem boys saying dey go stay whey dey is, hope nobody jump up bawl bout dey doh know dey roots and shit...they go stay right whey dey is, cause dey really know dey roots... The K Clements and dem so..
ah go come here for reminders and talk shit an ting, and to see who go get cuss and run next, because like me, very few here know what is happening next in T&T football...

toooo  much Fur...don't need the play-by-play, won't read it..thanks anyway

6375
But then Trini, If yuh saying we won't be picking based on form, if we continue to see John selected. Cause he not scoring, not running, not winning balls. Unless he pick sure, in case he has made a turn around. Meanwhile Scotland scoring, Glen, and Sealy in ting. Pierre looking good. Even Jones who I prefer to play defensively scoring.
Nah for me John, will probably miss the next 2 games, I think he had a decent run to turn things around. Time to give someelse a go.

Alberta Trini, I know yuh is a bright fella an ting. And is alright to post anything, anybody want. Yet there is allway many contradictions and contradictory statements in the post that you bother to invest a lot of  time, and I get confused on what you are trying to express. I am not going to refer to any past post , you can check them out.

"Maybe FURY, you really ought to let the Canadian public know that is a man from TRINIDAD who is behind the bench or is the man so much like AMES that they think he is  passing fuh CANADAIN too.!!!!!!!!!!"

I will say one thing doh, if you don't know what yuh talking bout, ask. Doh follow the question with a statement on the same topic yuh don't know nothing off.
If Fury use 1 post to inform us of a friend of the board, whether he is what he is, which you don't know, say what!
Plenty people here use many more to inform less.
Take yourself for example, I don't know you and on the same token, you don't know me
Yuh think I would be more or less  interested in hearing what you living out West Canada have to say? e.g. Who concerning Trini football you can inform me on ? What games do you see ? What special skill you have or  have developed?

Yet I still try to read most of your post, because I may not agree with all, but understand and learn somethings. I don't have to try and convince you or anyone else of nothing. Chances are the same questions would be asked of me." Who the hell is you?" I might even get 2 FK U!. To many, I am just words typed on a computer screen, on a certain style of posting. Very few here have met me, so my purpose is not to try and convince nobody, it is to learn, understand things, people, football, systems, and meet people too.
So if a man wha talk boutCanadian Soccer, say what. Is it any less better than EPL, Trini or Brazilian soccer when it come to relevance.

anyway I talkin to much...I am jus saying, let everyone have dey say, if you rather everyone DON't have a say, Check where yuh come from and see if yuh not commin like some oppressors

if you feel offened by this post, I am sorry, it is not my intention.
I do not mind hearing about the Canadian team, I love Canada, I love Trinidad. I like my kids have dual citizenship for that reason. I don't have to make any choice, but Trinidad is where I was born, and where most of my loyalty and contributions (if accepted) would be made. I expect my kids to choose differently.

Thanks Fury,
SH had dropped me a note, he indicated that he was a little concerned about the age difference. U-18 for the Scots, vs U-16. In addition, meh U16 boy not big atall. As bad a baller his dad was, size was always an issue.
I went to see Ont. U16 play Que. U16, and he was the smallest guy on the field. I did find those kids game way to physical though, and although you could see that they had skill, emphasis was definately placed on denying pass reception/disruption, than on skill development or creativity. I didn't like it.
Meh bud reminded me,of our times, We called it" kick-down" .
When the big guys although quite good, were not as nippy, turns etc.. (low center of gravity), but at that age the game is played at speed and stamina....we use to call that "wildness". So defenders don't have time cut off and intercept, most of the U16 have not completely developed that aspect as yet.. As they still believe they can fix everything by just running.
Mikey explained that they work so hard to get on the team, they can't afford to make a mistake and have a goal score on them because they weren't able to turn and track back fast enough. Cause they will be off the team very easily. So they clean up and take the foul, rather than the blame.

Thus they run hard and play hard, and many times don't look very skilfull. I agreed but was a little disappointed, cause I knew my lil buddy had skill for days, but in that game he was afraid to try anything, cause if it didn't work, he could look ..what we call "like shit"... So through a whole lot of these games it is run and gun, but you can try stuff in the practice...

One thing you get from these kids though is fitness and playing at speed.

So Trini coaches take note, it might look like all they can do is run like headless chickens, and they only beat we cause they outrun we, but Trust meh, they could skills it too. They just aren't selected based on that.

Fellas, please don't shoot the messenger, till yuh get the message, plus everything else that they know. After which yuh may just realize we are all alike, and not shoot nobody.

Maxg where de arse you living? How the middle class dwindle? When u see that?

Answers: Montreal (to rass). To long to explain, globally due to different reasons. Many times.

As a matter of fact, the decrease/reduction of the middle class is a World Order...of which Trinidad is a part.. I would try to find such an article.

here.
"The recent experience of T&T has been a rapidly decreasing middle class."
http://www.guardian.co.tt/archives/2004-10-09/bussguardian11.html

It is quite possible, Trinidad does not fall into the realm of what many Economist, and sociologist describe. I will check some more.

Guys, Consider the very diverse spending habits of T&T people. Besides the staples (food, clothing shelter), family improvement Activities (from sport participation to education, Clubs, Cars, Carnival Shows, fetes, Local and Foreign artiste, other Sporting clubs (Cricket, Tennis, Swimming,BasketBall). Given that our middleClass has dwindled. The few football supporters left, out of this smaller middle class, could only go so far as to carry a club.
In the past many of our Top footballers played for love and personal enjoyment. Now, we producing possible pros straight out of HS. We teach our kids not to settle for mediocrity, and achieve.

Look at it this way, If everybody were doctors and nurses and strive to be the best. Who will clean the Hospitals and ensure a clean healthy environment, who will fix the broken bulbs, and maintain a safe environment ?

Likewise in football, it needs a major group of Football supporters, but we are sending all to academies and aiming for the moon. There is not disposible income left , from the few who can afford it to support the professional game on a professional level. Semi-pro maybe but not full professional..

not clear I know, but I think you see my point

my 200k cents. He right to ask for it. Doh mean it right to give him, especially if yuh cyar afford it. Nakhid don't deserve any less, plus yuh have to pay bigtime coach. and yuh still have a program of games( travel, player wages etc) to run. If yuh could afford it,and yuh think he could help, give him, if not don't. (Doh ah didn't see him help Rahim...buh maybe Rahim misbehave and wasn't a true falkirk man)
Just don't tell him no and give it to one of "Been' boys.
As a matter of fact, long as we giving way money to people who wukkin hard, like we should give Yorke and Angus a lil asst. something too. Cause they teaching the youths, plus doing it on the field too. While yuh at it wha bout Shaka as Goalie coach.

Listen Latapy has not, and most likely will not give up the Falkirk asst. post, for no 3-5 month run. It sound like he like pressure or what?

I don't expect him to work for free, but is not like he spear-heading the National program until 2010. If we must negotiate in the papers, then that is what we have to do., but because he ask for that, doesn't mean we must say no and blank him. How about a counter offer ?
Like, whatever Nakhid was getting, plus if we get through the qualifying, we would relook at the request, if he stays.

As Coops said, in the final analysis, is T&T game supporters who would have to pay.

Thanks for nuthen newsday,...
Pay the saviour, the other saviour will demand he pound of fleash soon..an by then Stern go be feeling the lack of appreciation....

Lord let it not go down so nah
If we must lose, if only you help us try
I know we do a lot of foolish things
but it's only because we don't know better
Lord just help us not to beat ourselves
Let us lose to the other teams, not our own people

Fury, thanks for the post. When I read the news, ah was dancing all over the living-room here.
Dane Roberts, is the son of Michael (Fatima).perhaps a future T&t player !
or Canada, whichever I glad for the Youth..he is meh boy,boy...and all the best...SH is also meh limin pard too. So who doh want to hear bout dem could , could play ignorant, and see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil, but sometime yuh fine dey still opening dey...
Anyway even if yuh post is just for me, I don't think Flex minds to much, please continue the SH exploits, and any Dane Roberts as well.

Look out for 2nd son too, Dominic, though Dane is stronger slkill wise, Dom is physically stronger for his age...yet those who know, Mike and the kids are shortmen.

"Plan, what plan? we don't need no stinkin plan !"

Seriously, I didn't expect anything different as to what he is doing, and what BSC was doing. What point in having practice matches with one group and playing WCQs' with another. He may make a few different selections, but would the Team improve drastically with 2 or 3 different players ? i don't think so. The only thing he may approach differently, is quickly analyzing the other team strategy, and making a half-time adjustment of his charges, by supplying pertinent info. For a few thousand dollars US more, I think we could have gotten the same info for less from one of our competent local coaches.
Unless he makes the decision to go with a majority all-local team, there cannot be any pre-game strategy different than anyone else be implemented.
I am not of the belief that we here on this board know so much more of coaching than every other coach in Trinidad, dealing with the National team. What we may know more of , is how the team should look if it needs to win games....but unless any individual here actually walk in those Coaches shoes, most suggestions would be hypothetical.
We will just have to wait and see, and hope the players can understand and follow his instructions.
Look, let's be realistic, we don't have a player starting on even on the bench in any top premier leagues in the world. Most World cup teams have a few. Even the US. And these are supposedly our best players. So for me, whatever they accomplish as a Team is a plus.
