Carlyle Mitchell from TT,to USA and now Phiipines,they must be the weakest team in Asia,I can't help but mention yet again ,why do people take a dig at some of our players who play in India.I think our players can do as well in Thailand as they do in TT,there are much better crowds and our standing in world football is probably the same virtually.

But how yuh could say they’re the weakest team in Asia and they on top their league ( of which Qatar airways sponsor) ? Ah mean we don’t seem to even have a league going, we have. Tournament. What does it matter if we ain’t giving any of those Asian players a call anyway, let them work where they get it and possibly enjoy themselves. Less stress, more appreciation. I’m sure, they like everyone else would love to play in any UEFA clubs, but if no calls coming (top club or country), they have to make do and live their life. Wishing all of those guys the best, I admire them.

I was going and ask for a link for the non-locals, but it seems like I better off going and watch Valencia them in the Copa Del Rey and pick up with the slaughter on YouTube later.

3-0 now at HT against the 17s.

Yeah, I too sacrificed the Copa del Rey for this. Iz 1-1 at half time, so you can still get the heights of the match as everything is still on the line.

So when it have things to talk about and improve on. Remember allyuh could only speak of what y’all watched. Thanks.

Basic stuff breds.. Clear the ball.. don't let the last player dribble the ball. Too many times they trying to dig themselves out of the back by dribbling the ball. For this game, they got to clear the ball.

Tactics off by KJ. Need a new goalkeeper. A solid centerback and a solid general in the middle. Bring back Yaya. Also I don't really see the leader of the squad.. That means we need one.

Todays match I want to see improvement on the fundaments. Dominating ball possession, good passing of the ball, shots on goal, improvement in stamina for full 90 mins, discipline in defense. I want the team to win but I want to see improvement in those areas. Better now than when we face bigger and stronger competition later.

Just direct we to where you getting to see all that..if yuh there we could handle a Facebook live..

T&T Pro League and Super League clubs are now considering whether the Normalisation Committee, installed by the sport's world governing body (FIFA), has been taking their concerns and proposals to Minister of Sports and Community Development- Shamfa Cudjoe, as per an agreement with both leagues, the normalisation Committee, the managers of the T&T Football Association.

The members of the boards of both leagues do not believe they are.

An agreement was reached among the pro and super leagues, the T&T Football Association and the Ministry of Sports for the Unified League in the form of a National League, to replace the existing set-up of the T&T Pro League and Super League as the top tier and second-tier tournaments. The four organisations had even agreed to create a Steering Committee consisting of representatives from each organisation to pilot the League.

This new development comes in the wake of criticisms by Minister Cudjoe over the lacklustre responses from the pro league and T&T Football Association to the official reopening of sports in a safe-zone arrangement.

Cudjoe said the T&T Pro League has been crying and saying the minister and her government have been stifling football, but now that the sport has returned, there have been little to no responses from the pro league and TTFA.

"The way, for instance, the Pro League was crying out, I expected to see the Pro League and the T&TFA pull up their socks and get out there but that is not happening," Cudjoe said.

On Thursday Guardian Media Sports reached out to members of pro league outfits W Connection, San Juan Jabloteh, Point Fortin Civic and Morvant Caledonia United for comments on Cudjoe's statement, but was directed to acting chairman Brent Sancho who was described as the designated spokesperson for the league.

Sancho, the Central FC founding member told Guardian Media Sports that Cudjoe's statement has left them asking if the normalisation committee chairman Robert Hadad and his members have been articulating their concerns to the minister of sports.

As such a decision was taken to pen an official letter to minister Cudjoe expressing their concerns and the way they intend to move forward as a unit. The letter is expected to reach minister Cudjoe's office in a few days' time.

In December last year, the normalisation committee was expected to make a presentation to minister Cudjoe regarding the league, but since then, however, there has been no communication regarding that presentation or if it in fact did take place.

According to Sancho yesterday: " The pro league board decided they will write directly to the minister of sports, so a letter is being penned by the board to put to the minister of sport to articulate their position and to articulate the timelines of what transpired over the last year and a half.

As a founding member of Central FC, the T&T Pro League was approached by the normalisation committee head about a Unified League and was also told that any communication that would go back to the government should go through the normalisation committee.

We requested at that point in time, that the normalisation committee assist with players who were not being paid because of the COVID-19 pandemic, through the COVID relief fund that was given to them by the FIFA, and also to request from the minister of sports, the last tranche of monies that were Cabinet-approved, also to assist with players who were not playing because of the restrictions of the pandemic, but both requests were denied according to the head of the normalisation committee," Sancho said.

Guardian Media Sports was informed that there are concerns regarding the normalisation committee which is not holding up to its end of the agreement which could lead to a break-away by the clubs.

Cudjoe claims that her ministry has been awaiting proposals from the pro league was also met with disgust, Sancho explained: "We have sent in proposals. We have sent in a mock-up of a Cabinet note about a year and a half ago and all of this was a pre-agreement with the normalisation committee. So we had a few proposals in, and then the discussions came about the Unified League which, at that point in time, the pro league, through the understanding of the NC that all discussions regarding league football had to go through the steering committee/normalisation committee."

He continued: "It was supposed to be an official National League that would now serve as the qualifiers for CONCACAF and serve as the top and second-tier league of T&T. Everything else in T&T would have been considered a minor league. When the normalisation committee met with the minister of sports regarding the league, they took the consolidated approach of what was said by the stakeholders, but when we asked to send their representatives, that was not done, so what we said in discussion was presented to the minister of sports, however, we are not certain if it was the same things discussed."

Has she ever had so much success anywhere or possibly such an easier league ?  It's like 1 other strong team, and they both win by 3 goals or more and as much as 8 + in many of their matches. Glad Yaya is getting the recognition doh, yet the competition seems a little weak, no ?

Competition is uneven, but credit to her because she is being much more than a passenger. She's doing what they acquired her to do at a club that always has lofty expectations. The bottom line here is that YaYa is an ambassador for T&T precisely at the unfortunate moment that the NT does not get the benefit of her participation. This contract - coming at this stage of her career - was not expected. And, despite the uneveness and, the evidence that she could deliver in a more competitive environment.

I like what it offers her as a platform for extending her career.

If Turkey can grow this product, they will be in a good place for their homegrown talent to emerge.

🤣🤣🤣 @ the token dive by the GK on the 2nd goal. He was soooo soooo late. Similar to the saving motion players execute (when a ball is out of touch) because they want to be seen as being professional in effort ... but the dive technique here is a flop. Literally.

Excellent goal.

Always liked him. Another one who's seems to be playing below his level. Is where yuh get the work I guess.

T&T Newsday Reports.

Former Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Aurtis Whitley, a member of this country’s 2006 World Cup squad, is turning his attention toward passing on his experience to young footballers in Oropune Gardens. where he resides.

Whitley, a former national captain, is conducting weekly coaching sessions with members of the Oropune Police Youth Club and has also partnered with ex-T&T teammate Hayden Tinto to offer coaching clinics to aspiring players.

Whitley recently received support from TT Football Association (TTFA) director of communications Shaun Fuentes, through his company Pushing Limits, which provided a supply of footballs, training gear and uniforms for the current project. Through the affiliation with Pushing Limits, of which Fuentes is managing director, Whitley will receive a monthly provision of supplies for the coaching sessions as well as medical screenings and media training for the youngsters for a six-month period in the first instance.

Whitley, a former San Juan Jabloteh standout, said he felt the time was right to pass on whatever he could to the next generation.

“This is something I have been working on for some time. Of course my playing days were some of the best times in my life, especially playing in the World Cup in Germany. But this is a different calling and I just knew it to myself that I have to give back something to the youths in the community. This is just a small start but I will be looking to keep going,” Whitley said.

Whitley said when he reached out to Fuentes for assistance, he did not hesitate.

"We are doing this for the youths and I am thankful to God and my family to be able to contribute in this way,” Whitley said.

Fuentes added that he was encouraged by the initiative and saw it as a way to make a contribution to youth development while also showing support for Whitley.

“Aurtis and I had some discussion earlier this year and he reached out for some support in whatever way possible towards his involvement with the youngsters in the Oropune area. We’ve had a professional relationship at the national team level dating back to 2000, and of course the 2006 World Cup of which Aurtis was an integral part.

"But this collaboration is different and it brings a warm feeling to see athletes such as Aurtis making an effort to give back in a productive and meaningful way. I had no hesitation towards it and decided to partner and offer support through my group Pushing Limits where we’ll be aiming to provide whatever assistance possible to Aurtis and the youngsters,” Fuentes said.

“I believe strongly in seeing our local sporting heroes interacting and passing on their wisdom and knowledge to aspiring athletes and members of our society and local communities."

Fuentes, through Pushing Limits, has also provided support to the Dunstan Williams Soccer Academy by way of a workshop and presentation on preparing athletes to handle the media, ahead of the Academy’s upcoming appearance at the Dallas Cup 2022. Among the topics were: how to present yourself before the media; body language; social media training; facing the camera; and interview sessions, among others. The session took place last week at the Presentation College, San Fernando auditorium with players from Presentation College, St Benedict’s College, Naparima College and Pleasantville Secondary in attendance.

He also offered support and held similar sessions with Joel Bailey’s Gold Generation Next Coaching School in San Fernando, Stern John’s Academy, the Grenada FA as well as offered support to the Belize FA for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Fuentes has undergone training from world-renowned New York-based media trainer TJ Walker as well as FIFA experts in media management and relations during his time as a FIFA Media Officer dating back to 2007, which included appointments at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and other youth World Cups in Nigeria and Turkey.

Lilman has given up the Sport. Like his brother, he was hoping to finish his last year on a High. Unlike his brother however, wherby the final University meet was cancelled completely due to Covid, this year it was rescheduled to a later date, just before his exams. As he is in the Honours program, he made the choice to concentrate on the finals of his courses.
In addition, we lost the matriarch of our family, my mom. Thankfully she had a great run (101) and didn't suffer to much, except the isolation due to the lockdowns. This affected all of us, and his heart wasn't in it anymore.
 It was a great run swim. Thanks for everyone who supported the kids over the years, and thanks Flex et al for this site to have us document their experiences and get a little fun over the years.

Condolences and Blessings to those who have been more seriously affected over these last couple years. I know it has been difficult for to many people. Best wishes going forward. Hopefully we will all manage a little sw.net lime and reminisce on the good times before, and during, celebrating the beauty of those we have lost, and those we have brought, later at some better and more celebratory time in the future. As God wishes ! 

 

maxg, Condolences on the going away of your Moms. But she had a great run, 101 WOW!!!. Blessings to her. Sorry about Lilman. But I am glad you were there for your children in their endeavours even if they don't win the Olympic gold. The important thing is preparing for the gold medal in life. Seeing Your children achieving success and having their children is one of the best things in life. I just had two grands this year. Grand daughter(my daughter) Stone Sunday was born Jan 30. And on 2/22/22 my son's wife delivered Blaise Jean-Pierre. I now have 4 grands. 2 boys and 2 girls. Daughter has 3 and son has 1. I am a lucky and Blessed man. My Moms who is recovering from colon cancer is so happy and delighted to see her great grands. Love and Peace. You are a success story. At least in my book.

Big Congratulations Deeks..Look at us, eh. At school did we ever think we would see these days, good and bad. Most importantly doh, we have hopes of a few more. Nice going man.

Gie dem Shamfa, like they want allyuh, paydem, organize and play the football too. No organized plan no funding, especially when after those fund givers have no say.
No words, no trash papers, show a organized plan that helps develop the sport or get out the way.

The disorder gives Ms. Cudjoe permission to "wine on dem" but there are areas in which the MoS can drive sport [in the meantime] by way of pushing policy reformulations that require active coordination with other Cabinet portfolios. Set the framework in which anyone awaking from sleep or slumber could thrive. Incentivization of the private sector to invest in sport should be tied to the broader drivers of the economy and should come with a whip rather than a brush.

Sport remains an activity of lip service restrained by government's purse strings and insufficient insertion of domestic private capital. Also, why can't sport in T&T be a sector in which foreign direct investment is courted?

With the percieved corruption of FIFA having to install a Normalization committee,The blacklist and fallout of world cup aftermath (tkt or leave it),  the other Jack Warner fiasco (regardless of all else who was involved -but Jack name broadcast as if was the only and forever culprit). The lack of proper and concrete organizational plans. The Fenwick/Griffith scholarship and Ntl team fiasco, the historical changing of sport suppliers/sponsors...hardly anybody would put a name on that shirt until there is an actual track record or a series of successes. None of which seems potentially evident at the moment. Till then, we have to band we belly and Bol etc..
