Football / 4-0 is a good result any way you slice it

In todays game there are no easy international games so for the team to come out and score 4 goals is a good result.

So congrats to the Staff and players on a first victory in a long while.

We get to fine tune the offense again on Friday with hopefully a more competitive internal game next week to fine tune the defense and then on to panama

If we could get an early goal against Panama that would be great as I know they are coming to play defensive and stay safe and play on the break.

With regard to stern the key for me is that he score.

Which is what we need him to do. He can play all the shit he wants as long as he score goals

Either Stern, Yorke or Jones one of we Top forwards have to ketch form because is goals we need in a bad way.

If either of them can drop 5 in the next 7 games we have a chance to go germany.

Football / Jones is a Midfielder

Anybody besides me belive that Jones best use for TnT is in Central Midfield.

The position he used to play for St Anthonys.

Jones skills is good Speed Good fight and Youth Drive.

This is what will help us in the middle of the park

His weakness is Ball touch, composure and keeping possesion with no support.

If you look at the games he plays forward for TnT, He is not performing up to par and is never likely to score goals.

Not because a man went on a goal scoring tear means he is a good forward.

But his performance hustling the defenders and Tackling defenders for TnT is what he does best.

Look at his performance last time in Mexico.

Just last year Rangers was signing him as a Sweeper and he was playing defense for TnT and W connection.


We need to Unlease Jones in the middle of the park he will bring the Davids/ Viera Midfielder that we need to put pressure in the middle.

Playing Jones as a forward is a waste of time.

Let me see how long it takes Beenhakker to realise that jones best position is midfield,




Cornell Glen, Scotland and Samuel can all give something more up front to go with Stern or even push Yorke back up and Put Jones in the middle.

It is a U23 team from a not so good football country.

If we lose that game lose the coach becuase what ever it is he doing not working.

We lost to NE Stars & Lima

if we cannot beat these teams how can we expect to beat Panama and Mexico in a weeks time and get off the Last place spot.

Football / Beenhakker Make some good Changes

Dwarika, Glasglow, Aurtis Whittney

are all great additions. Bertile seem to leave out these men.

Also the fact that the MLS men game back for the game is good, because is mid season for them and they gone all the way back to train.

This means the message is clear and simple, if the coaching staff does not see you in training and games you will not play in the world cup games. In the past these men would not be home training right now.

I even see nakhid doing High Knee Lift instead of sitting on the bench with he arms folded.

Looking for a real hard showing tonight.


With the right attitude and men playing up to potential Panama is the right them to face next, becuase we just might be able to biss they ass and get a good 3 points and some much need confidence.




A WIN TONIGHT IS NEEDED.

I saw them play against the US in Foxboro and they do not have many weapons up front besides for Ceritos.

In the back they are tall but slow

The Keeper is decent.


I expect that we should match them quite well and the fact that they are out of World cup and rebuilding for 2010 means they may come with a yound squad.

if we loss 2-3 nill something real wrong and BeenHakker is doing shit.

If we tie but dominate I go take that

Most of all we need to see the Passion of a new squad under a new coach.

All I can say is thank good we did not play W Connection (best team in the league this year) Because we might have get about 6.

For the next game organize it against Tobago United or Fatima B Squad, we need to chose the next game carefully because we need a win Bad Bad.

If ST Clair was still coach men would be calling for his head after a result such as this.

Football / I think Cornell Glen is a good Player

Remember he is still settling into his new team so it will take time to get involved and learn to integrate.

To say he is dunce is not a fair statement, he might be over trying and hence not making smart technical decisions.

I have seen him play several times for Metros and TnT and he always made a positive impact.

He gives us something none of our other forwards give.

Speed on the ball with th ability to unbalance defenders on his own which is something Stern and Jones not providing.

Only scotland and samuel have similar games but they off the bubble right now.

I think we need to start Glen Up front with Stern and drop Jones into midfield.

Cornel can provide goals more so that Jones at this moment.

Hopefully stern can come good in the next 3 games.

in 2-3 years Cornel have the potential to be a 20 goal a year man in Europe.

He have all the tools just need a little time to get refined.

Just because Jack in Peru for Fifa business means we can get a free game against a club team.

Beenhakker has been in charge for a month now.

We have had about 4 training sessions and he has spent the first 3 weeks look at foreign players and moving in.

Time ticking and serious plans are not in place.

We need to get at least 2 good games before the panama game

Not agianst club teams but against COUNTRY TEAMS.

We need to fine tune our offense because is goals we need against Panama.

I expect us to have good possession and chances against panama but we need to be sharp and put chances away.

It takes games to get sharp.


A Big Coach Like Beenhakker should have good warm up games in place.


Right now we spinning top in mud because Football is played on the field.

Unless Beenhakker put his team put against quality opposition we will not know what he brings to the table.

If we walk out against panama and only play club teams we asking for trouble in a life and death match

The fact that they living at high altitude would mean that they are the only men on our squad who will not be adversely affected when we go Mexico.

If we use them wisely and they advise the other players along with the experience Beenhakker have from Mexico we may be able to get a bonus point out of that game.

We have to try to get points on the road and win all home games at this point to get back on track.

Anything less than 3 points against panama and it is all over especially with Mexico and USA away as the next 2 games.

To sum it up bluntly Big Dog is a Big Shit Hound

He cannot Trap
He cannot Pass close or far
Not comfortable with the ball at his feet.

In Short he is not a "Player"

But what he is, is a Athlete He can run for days has good top speed and has the heart of a Lion.
He can jump over big buildings with a single bound and Butt balls into outter space

I remember watching Dog play Intercol league for San Juan as a right back and is pure side tackle whole day all day.

There is an important lesson here for Trinidad and Tobago Football.

Too ofter as coaches and fans we only want to see the Latapy Type players. Guys who can play the beautify game.
Real "Players"

But what we really need is more "Shit Hounds" Like Big Dog on the team Men who can match intensity and bring superior physical awareness to the games.


Men might think I am crazy but I fully expect Dog to get buy from a big english club soon either New Castle, Liverpool, maybe Man U or something.

Which would be truly amazing because nobody would think he would reach that far.

And on top of all that the man maintain his cool and never gives any kind of trouble.

Big Dog is a real Top Dog!!!

I hope more youth and coaches in TnT try to emulate his approach to the game and not only focus on the glamour ball.

Our Fasination with Brazilian style Ball is one of our biggest down falls because it is much more efficient and easy to play german style ball.

That said culture is culture and we like what we like so I dont see things changing anytime soon.

But at least Big Dog can provide proof that you dont need to be the best dribblier to the field to be the best player on the field.

Football / Beenhakker will add some energy to the PFL

The fact that he going to the games and scouting means the players will put out a good effort with the hopes of getting called up.

The fact that he added some new men will give all players hope for a call up.


In the end the proof will be in the warm up games and the world cup games as long as he put some new locals into the squad and not just drop everybody for foreign based then he can maintain the fight in the local leagues.

I firmly believe that the key for TnT is a good local based team that can push the foreign based to start on the team.


In the past the "Automatic" selection of foreign based has killed the fight in out team. We need to get back to a competitive situation and hopefully Beenhakker can deliver this.

If you are a prosessional club and you are waiting for a sponsor to get the money to run your club you are heading for the end.


Fact is a club needs to be financially independant just like any other business.

until football in TnT learns how to have a structure that will pull in more money that they have to dish out we not going no where.

Sponsorship will all end one day and where will the club be then.

This is not the way it should be

The Clubs need to be stand alone financial institutions to be there from generation to generation.

Things that can be done to improve the situation


1) Televise at least 1 game a week to increase publicity also to provide TV revenue to the clubs.
2) Implement membership programs that involve payment of dues from youth to senior level, players and supporters alike
3) Reach out to the community and get them to commit to season tickets.
4) Extensive Fundraising.


If you have a PFL teams and all you focusing on is getting a group of players to win the league it will never work.

if you bring a man to coach why alyuh fighting him down ? just because he is a local. The man right to ask for a car and an a house.

These is standard things that coaches request.

The $200000 is that in TT or US. $200K TT is small money as far was football coahing goes.

Compare that to what US coaches or Mexico coahes or Costa Rica coaches and you will see it is very small



How Much you think Beenhakker getting

4 years ago Simoes was in the 50K a month US  range so that be gone up by now.

It would not surprise me if Beenhakker contract for the next six months is worth more than $200000 pounds or 2 million TnT.


Football Coaching at National Level is Big Big money.

And this is the fundamental reason why I said stick with a local.

I am sure Bertile or Ferverier would take the job for much less than a foreign based would. So why not take the foreign based money and layout some new turf on Eddie Hart field so that we could have a decent ground to play football on. Instead of sliding on big stone and getting white man all day.


We are going to give this dutch man so much million of TT only to not make the world cup.

Put the money in some local infrastructure

Even Latapy is a better bet because he will most likely put the money in a trini bank or spend it on some rum and hoes from up lavantille.


Realistically speaking how much money you think Latapy is making in Scotland way more that $200000, you want the man to take a big pay cut or what??

Football / We lost a whole month

50% of preparation time is gone. They should have convinced La Forest to stay so he could run the sessions for the next month.

A month with no training or games is a long time at this stage of preparation and this state of being last in the standings.

Ok Beenhaker need to go home for 2 weeks to organize his stuff and then he also wants to see the players in Europe

But no mention was made of what is going on in TnT at the moment. Did he leave someone to run the sessions

Maybe them men can do fitness work.

Where is Nakid is he still back and forth to Lebonan

Latapy not coming until after scottish season and I suppose he will leave once season start back.

so how can it work?

Let us look at the Beenhaker appointment.

1) We have some one who knows nothing about football selecting the coaching candidates.
Jack Warner has never played football at any level, does not have any football coaching certificates and has never coached any team in any capacity.
He has taken it upon himself to go and seek out top notch coaches to help TnT.
Brazilians, Africans, English men etc
The list is endless.

The fact is not because a man is a good coach it means he will work in TnT. In Fact it takes football know how to select the right type of coach to fit into the Teams mentality and that of the Nation.

It is not as simple as finding the Best Coach. Because these same Best coaches have failed in many cases.

Look at the current coach of real madrid, he has repeatedly won in Brazil, underperforming like crazy in Spain.

The Fact that at first the Job was given to Ron Atkinson only to have the coach switch is reason to believe that we are just taking the Best Available at the moment.

Are we?

Analyzing coaching styles and methods to see if they fit our current group of players.
Why pick a coach who likes attacking wing backs for example if we have no wing backs who can attack.

Are we?

Looking at coaching Mentality to see if it fits into the TnT public mold of how they want the team to play.

Are these decision being made in the spur of the moment Ie in the 4 days after a humilitating 5 goals loss to Guatemala.

This is fundamental issue number 1 NO for thought on who the coach should be and how the expected results will be viewed by the public.

In Brazil if you pick a defensive coach the side could win every game the public will boo them and they will not be sucessfull.

Are we thinking at this mental level?

Or are we just taking who ever Jack with his Fifa reach is able to network with.

The mere fact that they would consider Ron Attikinson even after the statements he made means that we are not think universally.

What about the ramifications to those members of the public who may be against racism. Are we condoning that typr of behavior by hiring him.


The Second Item is

2) Where in the world you hear that players does pick the coach?

After Jack Warner and the Knowledgable Coach Selection committee went through the entire process of boiling down to the "Best" Candidate Ron Attkison they went to key players Dwight Yorke and Hislop who rejected the coach at which time Jack Hired Leo Beenhaker or new "Best" Candidate.


So what in fact we are saying is that certain key players are running the show. Well i guess Beenhaker must try not to do nothing stupid like bench or drop Yorke cause he might get fired.


Is either the players need to be upfront in the selection comittee for the new coach or they have no say. Idealy players do not pick a coach because in the real world players not even sure to get a sweat once a coaching change has taken place.



What is taking place here is that Jack Warner is trying to make the world cup at any cost.
So he is trying to get the best players to play and not piss them off.
Dwight Yorke etc.

He is trying to find a top notch coach, when he should be trying to find a top notch coach who can perform in Trinidad and Tobago.

WE NEED A PROGRAM, NOT A JACK ASS ON A PERSONALLY MISSION TO HAVE TNT PLAY IN A WORLD CUP.

Program = Leo Beenhaker as TnT coach in 2003. So he could have built a team and developmed a mentality in preparation for the World Cup. After being selected as coach by apanel of Knowlegable TnT football personell

Jackgram = Oh Shit we loss 2 games we need to change the coach quick and get back to winning ways. Who is available?


History has proven that Jack Warner is unable to make sensible football related decisions when comes to Trinidad and Tobago football.

This game is about football we need football smart people making the decisions


Beenhaker cannot bring anything that we have not seen before or teach you anything that you aint already know.
Anybody who have a TV can see what good football is.

It is about the whole system and how everything fits together.

In a major shake-up within the federation, which also saw several changes at an organisational level, Beenhaker's arrival is, by far, the most profound. With T&T propping up the final six-team 'Hexagonal' in CONCACAF, it will be down to the former Netherlands and Real Madrid boss to turn around their fortunes after the departing St. Clair left a glimmer of hope with a 0-0 draw in last weekend's match against Costa Rica.

He has been having good results in the Scottish 1st division as a assistant coach.

Added to that fact he know these men very well so he go know who to play where.

His style of play is how TnT defines good football.

That is I expect him to change from boom kick to short passing style and use a playmaker

Cannot see a latas team playing any whay else.


The TnT public respect him

So he can more than be a good coach for TnT.

We survive this thing before.

In My football lifetime I witness Nov 19th first hand

for 94 Jamican Knock we out I was they

In 98 I was out of site but even though we had a good young talented team we end up last in we group in the second rounds

In 2002 We was right where we was Today with 1 point after 3 games these same men was playing but 4 years younger and more in they prime

After it look like we was slipping they bring in a foreign coach Simones to coach the already foreign coach we had Porterfield.

It is now 2006 and we right here already.

We already know the outcome

But it is a small thing really

The only question we need to ask is

Who were our best players for 2002

Andrews stern Yorke Latapy Eve hislop pierre

Who are our best players today
same thing except latapy retire.


Look at any other side in the world and you will see youth comming through the ranks.

Yes he miss some goals but that is ok It happens to the best of us.

I agree we should take him off, I have no problem with this or even bench him and bring him on.

Stern Bench for TnT nuff times under porterfiled with Nigel pierre was on a goals scoring spree,

But for us to make the world cup we have to get goals.
Our Forward line has to improve

Keep playing Stern get Pierre a run see if Glen could get Goals Hector Sam in the wings bring back Samuel and scotland

But Truth Be told Stern is the ONLY creditable goal scorer who can get the 6-10 goals that may get us to the cup.

Keep playing stern through miss and thin.
