« on: November 22, 2009, 11:28:01 PM »
Guys we got beat three times in JA this past August in one week by JA.
So a tie at home is just. We only needed a tie to secure the CFU.
Both teams are happy to move on to Concacaf & am sure the teams we see in Guatemala will be even better prepared than the ones in TnT.

Sunday's game is certainly huge however with JA & TnT both winning today these two teams have solitified their births to Concacaf in January.
Sunday's match will determine seeding for the tournament in January.

The loser of the Cuba vs. St.Kitts game will get the prize behind door number three  ;D
And the winner will join TnT and JA in Concacaf.

Congratulations Soca Princesses !!!!

Teams showing up to play were not the issues.
Am sure fan support was !!
Tallman as a lead moderator and one who am sure is connected to the inner circles surely getting a schedule out to the masses will not be a problem.

Well Deek`s the CFU`s Womens U20`s that are happing this week in TnT are the precursor to Concacaf being held in January in Guatemala , which will then lead to WWC in Germany in July.
When are we all gonna get more excited !!
Fan support for these young ladies should be at it`s highest right now.
Am sorry I don`t buy Carnival , prep is always on going.

Deeks thank you for your honest answer.
So what are the fans going to do to change this mentality.
Is everyone aware that TnT is hosting the U17 Womens World cup in 2010.
The Host country gets an automatic birth in this prestigious tournament.
The U20 squad currently invites it`s top U17`s to augment it`s roster.
Women`s football is growing leaps and bounds all over the world.
TnT has formed WOLF.
How many of the forumites were aware of WOLF and even further how many actually went out and supported these young ladies in their league matches.

Surely one of our trusted forumites saw these two U20 matches and would like to offer an unbiased opinion on what transpired yesterday. Am more than capable of reading all the media articles from TnT , Jamaica & St.Kitts however am looking for the educated footie fans opinion.

Thanks for the media articles on the game however was any of the Soca Warriors on-line forumites that like to contribute to these threads care to comment on the questions asked by Soccer 19 in a previous post. The media's view is always the eloquant version. Now am not asking to get into specific name or number bashing on performances like we tend to do in the mens threads. Just wondering about the type of game it was ?

Little disappointing that more has not been said about this game and the Soca Princesses dismantling of the St. Kitts squad.
Biggest thing going on right now in the island and it takes more than 24 hours to ask a result.
Anybody see the game ?
Was six nil indicative or should it have been 11 or 12 nil ?
Did we finish on all of our opportunities ?
Did we play down to St' Kitts ?
What was the attendance like ?
Any body film it ?
Has the style of football changed with a new director taking over the program ?
If so what is it ?

Did anyone watch the Jamaica vs. Cuba game ?
One nil for the Reggae Girlz seems like a tight game ?
Was the score indicative of the game or did Jamaica not finish on it's chances ?
How was the goal scored ? Free kick ? Corner Kick ?
Great individual effort ??
Did Cuba threaten ??
Was it a fugly game and just take the three points and run ?

Any comments on both matches would be greatly appreciated.

Football / Re: Jamaica vs Canada video here

At BMO with 21,900 of my NOF's (network of Friends) it was Canada & Jamaica playing to a one all draw.

Nil nil at half ... Both teams had their chances however the half was mostly uneventful , both sides just working on getting their feet wet.

Second half was a totally differnt ball game (it was quite electric for all supporters) , Canada scored first on a beauty by our favourite # 14 , Jamaican Defense gave him some time at the top of the box & the back on the net was found.

A short time later Jamaica on a corner kick scored on an own goal as MR. Onstad was off of his line completly & was totally out of position , he actually fisted the ball in the net as it was all he could do to get his hand on the kick. He looked quite shakey for a number of minutes after that & Jamaica almost put a free kick on from about 23 yards out a short time after. Both sides moved the ball up and down the field , Canada had the better chances & the Jamaican keeper Ricketts was the player ofnthe match as he made some amazing saves. The Jamaican speed up front caused many a fit to the Canadian defense. Fouls were 27 for Canada & 13 for Jamaica. three yellows for Canada. Believe their was one for Jamiaca. Thought the man in the middle did a good job as both linesmen.

The streamer brigade were a plentiful whilst Jamaica was taking corners , the crowd was well behaved in the forumites humble opinion. It's gonna be tough goining into the Reggae boyz house to take three points, we shall see.
Was in section 118 half way up with a good mix of Canadian and Jamaican supporters , was a lot of fun !!

Cheers 19

The rules of soccer are very simple, basically it is this; if it moves, kick it, if it doesn't move kick it until it does.

Them El Salvador girls was dropping like flies yesterday.
A girl no where near the ball she just drop braddup and rolling...a next one see she fall and decide she hadda take a roll.  Then a Trini player decide well I might as well drop too
All this was after the 70th so maybe fatigue...and we girls was stronger than the other team so they was coming out 2nd in the tackles.
The study results should be interesting.

Dcs were u at game ?? The trini players were not dropping like flies !! It was only after two and three consecutive tackles that a player went down , not because she was tired! The ElSalvadorians were outmatched all night physically and well as tactically. The upcoming game verus Costa Rica should be a much tougher match however from what this forumite saw versus the USA the Trini's will be able to hold there own and then some versus CR as well as USA.

The ball is round ladies and gent's !!! ::) Any given day , any one can beat anyone !! :o
The hiring of these two high profile coaches from the USA is a huge coup to the program.
Mr Warner through Mr Phillips have finally done something that all of the TTFF should be proud of !!
Not only is the team getting invaluable structured training , the whole system from top to bottom is being set up for
future years to come. Having the 12th fan ;D on the pitch (home field fans) will spark all the Soca Princesses to perform at their best every minute of every fixture !! I four one will be front and centre cheering at each match !!

Some quick research shows Waldrum is a former Notre Dame ncaa women's coach, who in 2006,  "owns the fourth-best career win percentage among active Division I head coaches and now has led three different Irish teams to the NCAA title game"

and found this press release:
http://www.chicagolandsoccernews.com/college/notredame2.php?article_id=4304

Seems like someone who can take this team places, especially with USA in our group.

And apparently another US coach is assisting him:
http://saintleolions.athleticsite.com/article.asp?articleID=999

This is great news for the Womens side !! The TTFF has got it bang on !! They are pulling out all the stops to ensure the team has a succesfull qualifiers. I believe that Waldrum is still the Head Coach of Notre Dame & not former as you have indicated. Maybe someone in the know can confirm this a such. Either way this is a huge Coup for the Womens program !! Mr Warner through Lincoln Phillips have brought TTFF womens football program light years ahead with the signing of these two high profile coaches. Marlon Charles should be proud that he will be working with these two gentlemen to bring all his staffs hard work to the next level. Have heard great things about this team from the Tampa Bay camp & the early TT camp at the Centre of Excellence so far to date & am looking forward to seeing these young ladies perform well in the qualifiers beginning on the 17th.

It is a great idea (the tournament that is) however are the tournament organizers not aware that they cannot give away cash money  at a youth tournament.Any player who is on a team and that the team accepts cash winnings can potentially lose their NCAA eligibilty status down the road !! Only professionals can be paid.

Just an FYI.
