Football / Re: Craig Demmin and Gavin Lewis
« on: November 21, 2005, 07:58:30 PM »
Also, whatever became of Craig Demmin and Gavin Lewis?

After East Fife, Craig Demmin played for the Jacksonville Chargers and Colorado Foxes in the American A-League. He was then drafted by the Tampa Bay Mutiny (an MLS team). He is currently on the roster of the Rochester Raging Rhinos in the A-League, but he didn't play this season because he was recovering from surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee. He is a 4-time MVP for the Rhinos and was named A-League defender of the year in 2000.

I don't know the current status of Gavin Lewis, but he supposedly played with Notts County and Barnsley and he had trials with Birkirkara FC in Malta and Gresley Rovers.
Learnt sumthin new, I knew Demmin played for Rochester but didn't know he was injured, not sure at all about Lewis' status have not heard anything about him in a while.

This girl is very offended. Since I was 8 I've been watching strike squad men like Leonson and Michael Maurice run ball in Sando and clearly remember watching Jamerson and Hutson Charles and then coach Clayton Morris on TV and loving the sport since then. So who de hell is you to come up in here to make accusations on who you think is waggonists when we just making mention of what John said.

That's right... he knows his football... he knows how to motivate his players and I'm sure Holland is very proud of him now.

I love football, have always had an interest in the local Pro leauge and National Team only recently started to look at premiership, nevertheless if I go to try to kick some ball with the boys, I always getting blank. Not my fault... they probably feel I fragile and can't take roughing up. Arggghh! When I was growing up, I used to go down to Skinner Park & Mon Repos and see Leonson Lewis kick ball with he partners and them, I watching this game since I was about 8 and still loving it in my mid 20's.

Nutten wrong with man talking how dey does normally talk.
Dis is ah opportunity to expose de world to true trini culture, de way we does talk an all.
Allyuh ever here scotsmen talk? Or Geordies?

Let de men an dem shout it out.

Speaking with the Trini accent is perfectly acceptable. We all should be proud of our accent, however bad english is a no no. Every language has its own colloquial words and phrases and it fine to use them with your countrymen, but to the rest of the world it would be confusing. Please don't condone our boys spitting green verbs and such in public

« on: November 21, 2005, 09:29:43 AM »
I've given support to Gills mainly because of Ian Cox and Sancho. I do think that big things are ahead for all our boys including Sancho and I'm sure that big clubs will have his phone ringing off the hook. He is a real trooper and is a no nonsense guy who stands up for himself... i've seen this time and again.

Best of luck and much love to you Brent!!!

We need Warner as Minister of Sport, but not under the PNM regime, not sure about UNC either but not under PNM, Anil Roberts to will be a good asset with Warner.

Mr. Warner did wonders for the football, and I real grateful for that, but don't you think as Minister of Sport there won't be an even distribution of his time and efforts etc to all sports?

Football / Re: FIFA blank Bahrain appeal.......
« on: November 21, 2005, 07:38:39 AM »
As I read several times before... when the Goalkeeper releases the ball in the air to kick it into play, it is considered 1 complete action, if the ball is intercepted before it is kicked that is an offence. Sounds simple enough for me.
Sounds like you're right redbelt

Plz keep in mine when this atricle was publsihed...this was early on in the camapign...a lot has transpired since then.

We know that, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Beenhakker has carried us where Cummings, St. Clair and others have not. Therefore after mission Germany 06 has cleared I'm sure that worshops with him will be welcomed with open arms at least I hope so.

Football / Re: Warner: Supporters Club coming with first dibs on tics
« on: November 20, 2005, 11:07:08 AM »
That atmosphere in the first leg Bahrain game was not represented by the True supporters, as it came down to the Waggonist getting tickets. Who are and will only be vocal when things going good for the team.

Plenty of the ppl in the stadium went for the "football lime"... pseudo supporters. Not enough energy at all from the crowd. Think about it, when we played Mexico, real people had doubt, yet stilll a decent crowd turnout (the true supporters), yuh know what? I think we made more noise and showed more support than what took place there on the 12th, and the guys played beautifully and came out victorious.
I ain't saying leave out the people who now jumping on the bandwagggon but first preference for ticket distribution should be given to to the men who played on the National Team in the years gone by and we the real supporters

......clone one man from Strike Squad from 1989 to add to the Soca warriors to go to Germany...who would it be?

For me, is a toss up between Leonson Lewis and Hutson Charles. I might have to go with Leo cause we lacking that funk up top, plus he is my all time favorite baller period.

Leonson!!! He was the toughest striker of the '90's. Real talent from South! ;)

Football / Re: Warner: Supporters Club coming with first dibs on tics
« on: November 20, 2005, 09:17:06 AM »
Something really needs to be done to control that ticket distribution issue, yuh know as a girl, to stand up in that crowd to be pushed and pulled  just to try to buy some tickets at skinner park was not easy. Mr. Warner and dem didn't think about d females... either that or he expected us to get a man to push through for us or we could have simply paid more to get it from a scalper or just watch it on TV.
Maybe we should present ticket stubs from games gone by to join dat club, yuh know...to prove that we are true to the football and not Johnny's come lately. Anybody does keep dey ticket stubs? hmmm. Anyway, when ah think of something better I'll let you know.

Why ah say this, all them friggin detractors and them nasty foriegn press that have nothing good to say about tnt football and our players, and always refering to us as a third world country watchout the old addage words can never hurt me it can only make me stronger,so we coming out with ah vengeance and pulling out all stops.Plus yuh see when we play a couple international friendlies with the already booming confidence and we realise wait a minute them teams we go be playing is teams who never face anything like tnt, look here my father use to say  "condition your mind that nobody will beat you and nobody will"I'm already looking at all ah them eating they words in the not to distant future.
Aye, I appreciate your mindset... doh ever aim low. However it's a long tough road ahead so maybe yuh should slow ur roll a little, lets pray that the guys continue with the great work cuz from this point no matter how far they reach, real Trinbagonians will be grateful for all their efforts.
Bless up

I agree...
I stood at skinner's park on the 11th trying to get tickets and see Leonson Lewis in the melee fightin up with everybody else to get his tickets for d 12th. That ain't right man....
Also, good thing Angus Eve have a show on tv, so he had his media pass and was in the stadium, if not he might have been watching it from home.
