what de jail is dis i readin here. . .

A spiritual healer has claimed he can get David Beckham fit "within three days" despite medical experts ruling him out of action for around six months.

Sri Lanka president Mahinda Rajapakse has offered Beckham his personal physician, Dr Eliyantha Lindsay White, who claims he can get Beckham back on the pitch in time for the finals in South Africa.

"I am ready to treat him," Eliyantha Lindsay White told AFP. "His condition can be easily treated and within three days he will be able to go back to playing. His case is simple. I can treat him. He can play again."

Beckham has been invited to travel to Sri Lanka for treatment.

Dr White recently received praise from Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar after treatment on a knee injury.

to me de ultimate is the world cup . . . cuz it have nothing that could compare to representing your country. . daiz a whole different kinda competition there. And, not sayin is their primary focus, but club football for some men does be so they could stay on top form (or impress) so that they could represent on the national team. Also if they only play national football then for real weeks they wouldnt be playin no game. .. which sucks as a footballer. . . Is true wha people sayin that some of the greats never play in the world cup like george weah etc etc. . they never got the opportunity on the world cup stage . . but they did enough in their career to be remembered .. . . i think that is what makes a great player . . no matter what stage they perform in. . . if they manage to captivate you for their whole career until the end . . .then they are great. . . all them players allyuh mention who had just some good performances then disappear. . that is exactly what make them not great. . hahah . . . eg. zidane won everything there is to win basically. . and up till the headbutt in the finals of the last world cup you was still watchin this man perfmorming at the highest level. . .

and to reply to this:

So who yuh think, the World rate as TT greatest player, based on our WC appearance ? ;)
DUH....Brent Sancho of course.

Ent he did score a goal?
Nope....Dwight Yorke...and can you remember him doing something in the world cup ? For we he played good, but (maybe is meh age), I could'nt remember 1 major thing he did, only remember, Sanch goal, Glen hit post & Latas play, Carlos stop, avery red...but the foreigners around me, remember we was there, but don't remember anybody on the team, and doh they see the games, remember nothing about them, except we lorse....ah say, take ah guess who was  on the team, they say "Dwight Yorke, your greatest palyer ever"....

Dwight Yorke is still considered our greatest player, because he made his reputation as a player to be remembered. . when he entered the premier league he was a prodigy. . .and he continued being a headline maker (for football amongst other things. . hahah). . . And as to why he is still the greatest player even at the world cup. That is cuz somebody who play their whole life as a striker and score up real goals in his career and is known world wide as a striker - convert himself not just to midfield, but defensive midfielder for the benefit of a national team that was lacking in leadership and in that position, and as much as he tried. . he tried and tried so hard so much so that he accomplished being the one man that had the most successful tackles in the world cup group stages. .

Football / Forget Rooney, magical Messi is the world's best
« on: March 17, 2010, 06:49:57 PM »
just came across this article...

The famously insular world of English football has been quick to crown Wayne Rooney as the best player in the world in recent weeks - unsurprisingly perhaps in a World Cup year - but in Barcelona on Wednesday night, Lionel Messi demonstrated exactly why those claims ring hollow with a masterful performance in a 4-0 rout of Stuttgart.

Speculation that Rooney is football's leading light is far from outrageous. It is not, for example, a manifestation of the unjustified national arrogance that was exposed so horribly when Hungary humbled an overconfident England side with a 6-3 victory at Wembley in 1953, shattering illusions of grandeur. But it should be recognised that Messi is on another level - a once-in-a-lifetime talent. There is no excuse for a superiority complex on the part of Rooney or England.

Tormenting the visitors from the Bundesliga with his superior technique and utter genius, Messi was a force of nature. His run and finish for the opening goal was stunning - a mazy dribble followed by a thunderous drive from the edge of the box.

Nine minutes later it was his glorious pass that released Yaya Toure, who squared for Pedro to turn home the second. Messi then made it three in the second half with a quick spin and finish.

Nominally employed in an unorthodox central role in behind Thierry Henry, the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year was given licence to roam the Camp Nou turf and he did not disappoint, exuding threat on either flank or through the middle. But while his masterclass would represent the very peak of excellence for many a professional footballer, for Messi it was not even his best performance in the past week.

On Sunday, he took his league tally to 22 goals in 23 games with a delightful hat-trick against Valencia in a 3-0 win for Barcelona. After Barca's statement of intent on Wednesday night, he now boasts 29 in 32 games in all competitions. And while Rooney compares favourably in this regard - with 32 in 36 games - there is no disputing that in Messi, Barcelona have the world's finest player at present.

Sir Alex Ferguson's protege is in the form of his life though, there is no question about that. Deadly in the box, he has married a collection of predatory strikes with a catalogue of headed efforts. But they are not goals that cause jaws to drop in amazement and fans to forward on YouTube links with childish enthusiasm.

Messi, with his precocious dribbling skills, expert finishing, raw pace and brilliant football brain, scores such goals on a ridiculously regular basis. Moments that engage the imagination are his stock in trade, and he produced another on Wednesday night with that thrilling first goal.

Perhaps Messi is the 21st-century Diego Maradona to Rooney's Pele - a magician to rival a hungry and deadly accumulator of goals. A banner inside Old Trafford oft declares the Manchester United man to be the white incarnation of the Brazilian great while Messi has done so much more than a succession of Argentinean starlets to justify comparisons with a man who remains a deity in his home country.

But prior to kick-off, Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes just about got it right, saying of Messi: "He's the best in the world. What he contributes with his talent makes him stand out. He could become the best player in history."

Wednesday night's display has only reinforced such a view. Rooney, for all his talent and prolific form, is not in this league.

buh question for yuh . . i just curious. . . and also want a view from a manchester united supporter. . . i was curious of two things. . . 1) how different this game would have been if rooney did not play. . . and 2)how nervous manchester united fans was feelin about rooney not playin when they was sayin he was a doubt.

my arsenal have a task in front of them today . . .

i hopin rosicky play from de start cuz i find he has been on good form lately. .. also i think this game depends a lot upon nasri's performance. . . in big games so far this season he has really struggled. . . but he has the ability to control that midfield if he is on the top of his game. .

and well the biggest problem is upfront. . . but well. . . although bendtnar throw way umpteen chances in that last game. . . he scored in 3 games in a row previously (2 games for arsenal and 1 for denmark). . . and he will be trying to rebound after that performance so i think he play well .. .

walcott real unpredictable. . . if he have a good game then we go be on . . .buh yuh never know when he goin to have a good game. . .

arshavin being there is good also . .  i was wondering if wenger would use him in the fabregas role. .  but i think wenger will go for nasri there. . .

i wish arsenal the best . . and we will see if porto is as fortunate as last time. .

i watch that game against wigan. . .and wow man ... liverpool is a team struggling for form . .and their dependence on 2 men (stevie g and torres) real showin up of late. . cuz them men was injured and not in top form so liverpool not in top form .. they look real real bad in that game. . . not even 1 shot on target ,. ..

« on: March 03, 2010, 09:33:10 AM »
my opinion is that latapy and yorke should not be part of the team at all. As much as they are the biggest names in T & T football i think they are a big distraction especially for the younger ones who idolize them. All of them would just be in amazement that they workin with latas and yorkie and not be serious. Latapy and Yorke would promote slackness.

The reason we get to the world cup under leo was cuz he wasnt takin no slackin off. . . if you wanted to be on the team you had to put in the work and show that you seriousness and passionate . . .

i think the attitude of the camp is too laid back with latapy in charge.

I think some new players needed as well. .. I think they should have a week long open camp for people to tryout (I mean everybody foreign based and all - level playing field leh we see who want to actually represent they country), select bout 100 peoples (25 from each position GK, D, M, F) - then pick the best 4 GK, 8 D, 8 M, 8 F and work with them as a unit. That is what I would do . .start a fresh. . . no more friendsness and laziness. . .  but that will never happen cuz it will be too much effort and money for the TTFF...

Not trying to pick a fight here but: you were in the camp? How u know how the atmosphere is?.

Was just tryin to get the point across that we need to get serious in the camp. I mean look at brazil in their training session for the ireland game, dunga play a 20 minute intersquad match which was 11 vs 11 played only on half the field and only two touches was allowed. I goin and say that I am pretty sure that does not happen in trinidad training session or at least if it does. . . then it doh show on the field. . .  we need to get serious about things. . .i was getting a lil bit fed up of seeing lazy football from t & t. . . .  but congrats to latapy. . . and i really hope he prove me wrong. . .

ah boy grinding out the results! a finish above manu in the league will do nicely

i doh see chelsea dropping more points unless manu poison them but they still need to drop at least an other game or two draw results

basically all things considered, arsenal go unbeaten to end of season
manu hopefully loose another game or draw two we go second
chelsea need to loose two or draw three and we are tied on points so goal difference will be the edge and that means scoring alot more than we concede

fair performance today, eboue was effective but more so that walcott, someone needs to sit with theo and tell him to raise he head that and we should be bombing into the box when theo rushes down the flank

ah wondering just how many injuries we have now

oh and a clean sheet too

There are points to drop still . . . . chelsea still have to play manchester and liverpool  . . . manchester still have to play chelsea and liverpool . . . . and as we saw all season . . . very unpredictable this season . . smaller teams puuting in some good performances (burnley vs manchester; hull vs chelsea) .. . so it still have points to lose . . . having said that . . arsenal still have manchester city and tottenham to go . . so still lots of twists and turns to go before we find out for sure who will take the title .. .

also arsenal need to show more conviction in the box. . . bentdnar still lookin scared to re-injure himself. . . and he even movin stiff still . . .but the goal will do his confidence good.  . .Walcott also got some confidence from this game too . ..  nasri needs a confidence boost  . or a boost ah something . . cuz he plenty better than how he playin now. . . and i wish rosicky gets to play more. . i think when he is on the field  .. . he makes things happen . ..

55
ok . .i ent no manchester united fan. . .and i also not no ac milan fan . .. i didnt see de game. . but i watch the extended highlights. . . . and from what i see . . . Milan more than capable of taking apart that manchester defence. . .their finishing was off today unfortunately . . some ah dem chances huntelaar get. . . i see him put them away time and time again playin for ajax. . . buh wha yuh go do . . .milan start to get tired at the end . . manchester do what they perfect . . . the waiting game .. . when they play away . . they just wait for the opposition to make a mistake and then put the chance away . . . . second leg will be interesting cuz milan have to go for it . . .will be exciting and if they practice their finishing . . .they in trouble. . .also leonardo ent no big time coach . . i dont know if he will be able to out strategize ferguson . . .

on a side note. . . i find ronaldinho could more than find a spot for one last hoorah on the world cup stage on this form . . .  i not no brazil fan either. . ahahha . .. but dunga i guess goin for new players. . but still  .. i woulda take him if even to provide an exciting spark off the bench . . .

latest rumours is that benitez lookin to take him to anfield and whilst he may not get too much playin time i dont think . . or even tottenham . . just training with a higher quality team will make him better. . . he will have to actually work hard in order to get a chance to play . . . force him to improve. .
