Football / How do you build a team for the future
« on: October 18, 2018, 02:17:08 PM »
It is apparent that people in TT does not know how to build a team for the future giving caps to a bunch of players over 25 that is still playing in the pro league is a total waste of time at this rate TT will end up in the same position they were with S Hart when the WC start we will be depending on the same 2 players K Molino and J Jones who will be 30/29 our goose would be cooked.

TT will have to hire a coach with international experience who will give players like M W Ling ,K Julien ,J Garcia .C Benny ,T Emmanuel and Gomez etc a chance to play on the team that's what these friendly's should be used for these kids should be given playing time in the GC so they could develop there game that's how you build your team for the future G Cummings gave young players a chance Z Vanes gave young players a chance to play in the GC that's how they develop not being a chicken.

Plus clubs  in Europe would not take a chance with a undevelope player over 25 but they might take a chance with a undevelope player between 20 to 25.

Jamaica will always 1 up TT in everything if Jamaica ,Barbados or Bahamas had oil like Trinidad they would have become a 1st world country all that oil Trinidad had they remain a backward 3rd world country.

If I was DJW I would fire Dennis Lawrence by the end of the year it makes no sense going on with this guy at the helm.
i am curious to know what lead you to make this statement and who would you suggest as a better replacement?
After watching this guy for a year and a half its clear that Dennis Lawrence does not know how to take this team forward its just a waste of time and I don't know how much TT can afford to pay a coach.

I found a game on youtube were his team loss 5-1 this is a team that is always fighting off relegation he seems to be playing in front of the defense the 1 that try's to break up plays and start the attack he looks good in spurts but inconsistent at times he has to step up to the speed of the game the stuff that he was able to do against collage players these season pro's are not giving him the time to do it I am sure in a couple more games he will step up to the speed of the game.

I have watched J Bostock videos and he said he is trying to live a spiritual life so when it had a mix up with S Hart and DJW with S Hart trying to play the man with out proper paper work and with DJW stopping him that was a good sign to stay far from them 2 clowns.

Let's see how he does in the Maltese league before passing judgement on we coaches
I have been looking at the coach's in T&T for over 25 years now I don't need to see anymore from them the verdict has been read along time ago on these guys.

I watched J Bostock play today and he looks like a box to box English player he would help T&T midfield a lot.

I watched him play in the CAC games and for a 17 year old who played against players 21 years old he did pretty good he is T&T future #10 just hire a good coach and keep away people like Shabazz ,Corneal ,L Philip ,S Hart and all them other clowns and he will develop into a great player.

I watched the playoff game for his school last year and he was just light years above any player on that field if T&T keep hiring coach's like S Hart, D Lawrence , Shabazz and the A Corneal T&T technically better players like S Da Silva ,M W Ling would not get a chance for T&T.

« on: April 26, 2018, 07:30:35 PM »
Oh, lord!

Was well in the lead in the 2nd and 3rd leg. Very slow handover and Cedino get boxed in.
Thought he might pull it out in the stretch but not to be.

They lost close to half a second on that handover.

VB

If you look at the video of the last exchange you will see that Cedenio was pushed in the exchange zone by the Kenyan who was meant to remain outside of him but decided to move from his designated exchange position towards the inside lane to get to his incoming teammate running in the inside lane.
Kenya was rightly DQed for exchanging in the wrong position but the push that Cedenio got from the Kenyan outgoing runner caused the incoming Quow to take an extra second to get the baton safely into Cedenio's hand and after that delay Cedenio was then boxed-in by the other front runners for most of the last lap.
Its unfortunate but I think Cedenio did his best to deal with the situation but his trademark last 100m kick was missing and he was unable to overhaul the 3 last leg runners who were able to get ahead of him before the last 100m of the last leg. I believe that push that Cedenio got from the Kenyan in the exchange zone that caused the delay in us making a safe baton change could have cost us a medal.
Disappointing but so it goes sometimes in these relays when luck wasn't on your side.
What happen to the videos I did not see any races in the commonwealth games.

M Lee nasty attitude is starting to rub people the wrong way her decision not to run in the 4 by 100 relays when AB made a remark was very childish that decision probably cost us a medal if she continues with this attitude she will become fair game.

i thought that was decided from before the games. I thought she was only running the 100.
When the team was announced she was part of the relay pool when AB made the remark she said she would not be running in the relays then later she said her coach told her to only run the 100.

His team sign him to be a forward but he is a winger I hope the team gives him time to learn to be a forward just like D Yorke was given time to become a forward.

Just saw England defeat Spain to win the u17 WC and the commentators said that there best player J Sancho was only allowed to play in the 1st 3 games by his club he scored 3 goals and 2 assist in those 3 games and from the clips I saw he is to good to play  for Trinidad we would just make him look bad he would reach his full potential playing for England.

I saw a clip of US vs Paraguay in the U-17 WC in India. The US has a kid called Tim Weah. Is he related George who played with AC Milan? Looked very impressive. We have our work cut out for us in terms of development. Man! Oh! Man!
After watching what England did to them today they still have a long way to go had England not taken there foot off the gas it could have been a lot werst this is the 1st time I see a English team try to play good football.

I absolutely hate it. This is the third time we had this team to beat at full strength and we let them off the hook. how is it that we could take a lead on them and find a way to squander it so cheaply, where is our national pride that we can't hang these teams like usa and mexico when jamaica does it quite frequently?

as for the goalie he needs to leave that failing league and find a contract in a solid league before he's allowed to represent us in a serious way, sure he's shown promise but so did his predecessors Jan and marvin who never improved in that soft league. it's high time we get defenders who don't struggle in games and that's what I saw last night, a defense that was struggling. we need defenders who play in leagues where the pressure is on for 90 plus and avoid silly mistakes like letting layun cross a ball on the ground right across your box let alone not being intercepted only to find an unmarked player and that right there is unacceptable in any serious league.

we can't continue to play the whipping boy role in concacaf any longer. this must be the turning point where we start taking football seriously by consentrating first on dominating CFU teams and having decent results over the north and central american teams, no mistakes taken no excuse given. and dennis lawrence I would be crushed if I don't see greg ranjitsingh in goal on tuesday, it's high time we cap this lad and see what he has to offer.
T&T has a better record than Jamaica when playing the  U S A and Mexico in WC games.

Having your best players on the bench for your WC game is pretty stupid they not the type of players you bring off the bench 20 to 30 min is not enough time for them to grow into the game.

To bad D Lendore did not make the same decision he did when he had a chance to skip his last year of collage.

Was quietly thinking the same thing. However I don't think Lendore was offered a sponsorship deal after he won bronze anchoring our Men's 4x400m Relay team at the London Olympics in 2012. Maybe if Deon had won an individual 400m medal in addition to his relay medal in 2012 he may have been offered a sponsorship deal after London 2012.

However if I am not mistaken Lalonde Gordon who won both an individual 400m bronze medal and a 4x400m relay bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics was offered an Adidas sponsorship deal after the London 2012 Olympics.

Unfortunately for Deon despite his great 400m potential he did not do enough in the individual 400m event at Major international meets while he was at Texas A&M to attract a good enough deal from a big sponsor to allow him to forego the rigorous Texas A&M schedule that they demand of their top college athletes that in most cases see them burnt out by the time they finish their college careers.
D Lendore best year was 2014 when he was unbeaten he could have gone pro that year but he chose to stay in school.

it's like you all expect lawrence to be a miracle worker excepting a job in the middle of the the hex and turning out positive results with very little time to know the players.

then he should not have taken the job .. leo took over the job and got us to the world cup  via play off .
If Latapy never came out of retirement Leo would have just been another failure.

Qualification was not down to Latapy. There were many key moments by many different players.
Those key moments only came when Latapy joined the team.

Its kind of silly comparing the Mexican league to the Trinidadian league the Mexican league is the best in the CONCACAF so they can change a player anytime and he could do a professional job the league in TT is just a bunch amateur coach's and players pretending to be professional you don't take somebody from the pro league and give him his debut in a WC you looking for trouble and if Mexico keep Juan Carlos Osorio for the WC they will be trashed in the WC.

Yuh could rotate pedigreed, but yuh cyah rotate pothounds. That's wha yuh saying.

We at least expect ah pothound to bark lil bit. To be useful in some kinda way. If he not doing that ... keep him and feed him?

But if he doesn't change players, how would he accomplish progress? Wouldn't he be rewarding under-performers?
It is to late  to be changing players if you are still looking for players at this stage you should not be coaching and I would not call players like the Williams kid who was playing left back and C Gonzales under performers DL just got his tactics wrong.

Disagree. Dahis harsh! How many matches has he had to refine his "Best XI". Lehwe be serious. Grenada, Ecuador, Jamaica (who ah miss?) and the actual qualfiers (each of which presented a distinct tactical challenge)?

How many training sessions has he had with the squad (sessions that would not have been regeneration sessions etc)? Count them.

Then factor in injured players. Then factor in players unavailable due to non-FIFA dates.

Then factor in miscellaneous bullshit.

None of that is to say that he doh have responsibility to bear and questions to answer, but yuh being harsh.

It too late to change players? Never.

On top of which, how many players has Juan Carlos Osorio used? He cyah coach? Where does Mexico sit in the standings? Same Mexico that ketch plenty trouble last WC qualification?

Come again.

I wonder how  Villaroel start ahead of Mekeil Williams for second goal he got caught almost  the same way as in the Jamaica game ..

Coach said he played Villaroel primarily because of his attacking qualities and that would give the team options going forward.

Will be interesting to see the match stats of how many times Villaroel crossed half line with the ball in the match
When I saw Villaroel playing left back my mind flash back to 2001 in Costa Rica when the coach gave C Gray his 1st international game I knew it was over.
