Good riddance thank you for destroying TT football you silly fool hopefully on October 25th W Wallace and the other clowns will be leaving too.
why do you even come here when no one shares your view? it’s like you’re only here to troll the membership and stir up trouble. it would serve your purpose better if you went to wired888 or some other chat groups who share your sentiment. as for the members here, we supported the United ttfa, at least most of us do and I don’t think it’s polite to come here and lay your ugly ass eggs in hostile territory.

as for mr look loy, you would be fortunate if you had a fraction of 1% of the care and concern for football as mr look loy, not to mention his principles, but I’m not surprised with your gall, after all you supported DJW a man who did more damage to football than all football presidents combined, imagine being worst than Oliver camps? I thought I’d never see a president worst than mr camps.

So be my guess and troll away, enjoy yourself if you may, because football would never rise in this country with people like you and brent sancho, clueless spineless hungry belly trinis with no vision and zero knowhow and drive.
For the record it was Tim Kee that put the TTFA in death he is the 1 that signed all those inflated contracts to his friends  that do not deserve it DJW had to clean up his mess he was a business man so he had to make some business decisions DJW like most people in TT has accepted mediocrity as success which is just not good enough in the international stage.

What Sir Bobby Robson had to say about Russell Latapy prior to Hibs move - and why Alex McLeish once let him off for breaking curfew
By Craig Fowler (Edinburgh Evening News)

English football legend Sir Bobby Robson correctly predicted that Russell Latapy would be a huge hit in Scotland, as revealed by former Easter Road boss Alex McLeish.

The ex-Hibs, Rangers and Scotland manager was speaking to Si Ferry on Open Goal as he reflected on the first time he became aware of the playmaker’s availability.

In particular, he recalled a friendly game where Latapy, on trial, played as if he were “floating” above the pitch.

This convinced the former Aberdeen and Scotland centre-back to sign the Trinidad and Tobago star. He would be a huge hit at Easter Road, helping the club to the First Division crowd and third place in the SPL. He would later go on to have a less-than-stellar spell with Rangers before starring for Falkirk over a six-year period.

McLeish said: “An agent phoned me and asked if I knew about Russell Latapy. I said I knew the name because he’d played in Portugal with Bobby Robson.

“So I phoned Sir Bobby. He said, ‘beautiful little player, he likes to have a bit of fun, but I think he’ll smash it in Scotland’.

“I asked Russell to play a trial game for us to make sure he had the legs. We played a friendly up at Brechin, I think it was. I was amazed he said yes. It was pelting with rain, certainly not the Caribbean weather he would have been used to.

“This wee guy plowed through the pitch like he was dancing above it. He was like he had a hoverboard above the grass. He was sensational.

“I was looking up into the stands to make sure there were no scouts watching. I was scared we were going to lose him in the 24 hours before the deal was done.”

Latapy had a bit of a reputation for enjoying the nightlife during his time at Hibs, which at times made him life difficult for his managers. Ultimately he would be sacked by the club after socialising with countryman Dwight Yorke, which went against club rules, and ended up with a drunk-driving charge.

McLeish, however, remembers a happier time when the two came to an agreement as he was ready to punish his midfield genius.

He added: “We were in Trinidad and Tobago. I think Rod [Petrie] saw it as a commercial trip. Russell was so excited to be back in his homeland.

"I told the players there was a curfew and they needed to be back by a certain time. Now, Russell probably wasn’t the only one who did break it, but he was the one who was caught.

“So I told him the next day that I’m going to fine him. He asked me to show a bit of leniency. Then I heard that Brian Lara is one of his best pals - and I like cricket. So I told him to bring Brian Lara in for lunch and I’ll let you away with it.”
The problem for R Latapy is at Fc Porto Bobby Robson used him as a winger and at Glasgow Rangers Dick Advocoat used him as a winger he played best as a number 10

Wallace: Systemic reform needed
By Jonathan Ramnanansingh (T&T Express)

Systemic reform of T&T’s youth development programmes and professional league is the only solution to facilitate a smoother transition of younger players into world-class footballers.

Reinstated T&T Football Association (TTFA) president William Wallace believes last-minute preparations ahead of major international tournaments and unsatisfactory financial incentives on the local pro circuit serve as major detractors to this nation’s potential footballers.

Wallace reassumed his role at the helm of local football on Tuesday after Justice Carol Gobin ruled FIFA’s March removal of the TTFA executive and installation of a normalisation committee null and void.

He has already begun formulating strategies to chart a way forward.

However, many of his plans rely on the outcome of TTFA’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM),on October 25, when the restored executive reconnects with the 47-delegate membership to discuss the future of T&T football and its legal quandary with the sport’s global governing body, FIFA.

Looking ahead, Wallace said, “I would like to see that we do some introspection and soul-searching to reassess football in T&T. We need to be honest and look at where our football has gotten to over the last four or five years. Then it means that whatever we had been doing over that duration, that we cannot continue doing that and expect to improve.”

Wallace insists more emphasis must be placed on the holistic development of youngsters as they search for avenues to elevate their playing careers. He admitted that participating in major youth (U13 – U21) international competitions is necessary for athlete growth.

But, he said. a lack of preparation ahead of tournaments of this calibre, backed by shoddy performances owing to these deficiencies, only serves as discouragement for a budding footballer.

“We cannot continue to halfway prepare teams just to enter competitions.

"The better thing might be to sit down and properly put some development programmes in place for our young people so that they can develop their game properly. This goes against running into competition at every minute.

"When this happens, the players emerge disillusioned. This is one way of disenfranchising youths. If the only thing that people could think that because we are suspended, that this is the only thing that can disenfranchise youths, then they are not being honest.”

Wallace was also critical of the T&T Pro League, which he believes has been significantly non-progressive for the past five to six years. While he is aware the covid19 pandemic has had a negative impact on sport investment, both locally and internationally, the stipends paid to players by domestic clubs are minuscule.

These shortcomings, the former Secondary Schools Football League president said, are also a deterrent to potential players working towards securing pro contracts.

“We have a professional league in T&T that has not really grown in any significant way. If our youths in T&T are intent on going into pro football and all they can see is playing for $1,200 or $3,000 per month, that is not an incentive for young footballers.

“Our systems need to be realigned and reassessed. What is really the motivation for a young man who wants to develop his game to be asked to play professional football in T&T? If he plans to do that, the money is insufficient. He cannot live on these stipends.

"These are the things that we have to be honest with. We’re talking about pro footballers.”

After being elected to run T&T football in November 2019, Wallace and his three vice-presidents – Clynt Taylor, Joseph Sam Phillip and Susan Joseph-Warrick (resigned) – were removed from their post by FIFA on the grounds of financial mismanagement and massive debt.

A normalisation committee, led by businessman Robert Hadad, was set up by the governing body to run the FA’s daily affairs.

Wallace then contested FIFA’s decision to remove his executive and shift power to Hadad in the local court. Tuesday’s judgment by Gobin returned Wallace, Taylor and Phillip to the helm of T&T football.

Although he is pleased to have won against the mighty FIFA, T&T still remains indefinitely banned by the Gianni Infantino-led organisation, “for grave violations of the FIFA Statutes,, and still runs the risk of missing out on 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

On August 13, Gobin denied FIFA’s request to have the previous dispute remitted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and ruled that the local officials were not bound by an arbitration clause with the CAS and could take the world governing body to court in T&T.

One week later, FIFA appealed the decision to have the matter dealt with locally. FIFA’s hearing at the Court of Appeal is set for Monday. Additionally, after previously questioning the impartiality of the CAS, the TTFA returned to the Swiss court to fight FIFA’s August 24 decision to indefinitely suspend T&T.

The pursuit of this matter in Zurich will be decided at the upcoming EGM, where members will decide whether to drop or continue the case. Depending on the outcome of this meeting, the Government may consider stepping in to assist the still-embattled Wallace-led TTFA unit.
This guy sounds delusional I hope these guys are not so gullible to fall for this crap they need to show William Wallace Trump the door as soon as possible.

Where de NIKE deal Wallace promise?

However, ah like what Wallace doing since he took ova.

But he shouldn't lie about de NIKE deal to win election.

The TTFA must be more transparent.

Stop have illegal meetings with TTSL, Pro League and TTFA, everybody should be involved and treated fairly.

Wallace must change de TTFA culture and de TTFA must get some sponsorships.

Carnival is here, de Hotel, bar and hosting area should be open now, nuff money to make this month and next month for the TTFA, even if de Hotel can't open, they could hold nuff fetes in de Hall area.

Fenwick should have a team in training too, what is de keep back?

There is a certain saying if something sounds to good to be true it probably is not true from the time Look Loy started saying that they had money and sponsorship already you know he was lying he said the same thing before he took over the super league and none of them clubs get they money yet.

Ffsback, while some aspects of our culture have survived, we are anglophile to the core.  How many of us go to SA to work and study. Very few. How often TT does play Ven.? 10 times? I am not sure, but not very often. This may change with the influx of Ven. Spanish and French should be compulsory again in high school.  As a matter of fact, it should start in primary school.
While the English did put the icing on the cake  all the ingredients is from the Spanish with a little French topping just to give it a extra taste while I agree Trinidad has a anglophile influence I disagree with us been anglophile to the core.

yes we have Spanish and French influences, but those influences has fallen off dramatically. The Spanish may be revived with the influx of Ven. But honestly most Trinis can't speak a decent sentence in french or Spanish to save they live. By the late 60s the little patois and Spanish we had were gone. Only Parang was there, and that is for only 3 months of the year. Ask them Ven. what they think about our Spanish. They go tell you. We have been heavily influence by Americanism from the 70s. We are American Anglophones to the core now..
I agree with most of what you are saying because half of my great grandparents spoke Spanish but once they move to town that was the end of the Spanish speaking people in my family but I just don't agree with Trinidad being a anglophones to the core even with the Americanism the Ven people would save Trinidad and bring us back to were we should be.

I wonder if anyone has stopped to notice that Latin American teams in concacaf struggle against us and jamaica? the only Latin team in concacaf who runs rings over us is honduras, and that’s because they have big strong tall players like us who match us with speed and physicality.

the Mexicans would rather face any central american team than TT or jamaica, not that we beat them often or dominate them, but they struggle against us, and that’s because we play more of an english brand that the Latin players struggle against. in all honesty European football is a solid brand (contrary to popular opinion) and we in trinidad should adapt ourselves to that brand and learn it well.
People make the mistake and confuse TT football with Jamaica football but they not the same the English game suites Jamaican football because they are fast physical and athletic and also discipline teams in the CONCACAF struggle to deal with this even though the Jamaicans have a  loosing record vs Costa Rica and Honduras they have a better record than TT vs those teams.

TT dose not have those quality's we can't bully those teams like how Jamaica does I saw a game were Evan Wise make a Costa Rican player look bad and the Costa Rican player went and kick him down I remember a game where R Latapy had to be taken off the field in a stretcher when them Costa Rican players was done with him I can't remember any team from TT been physically imposing we just not built for that game.
ah mate you’re wrong, our game has changed tremendously since the days of the dwarika’s the latapy’s and the evans wise, we saw the last of those players after the 2006 world cup. today we have beefy players like levi garcia, danial cyrus, khaleem hyland, Ryan telfer, kenwin jones, neval hackshaw, Sheldon bateau, even smaller players like jovin jones and kevin molino has beefed up.

I remember watching a game recently and the mexican broadcasters was talking about how physical trinidad and jamaica were and the had some apprehension of facing us. we no longer have small nasty lightweight players unless they came from SSFL or the pro league.
I agree with TT being a more physical team now but unfortunately the results remain the same.

Hart did not play the typical English style. It was a mixture. Tiresais is correct to a point. We did play that type of game, but not all the time. We were passing the ball around very good also. But Panama was one team that upset our rhythm in the GC. They "roughed up" our players and never let them get into their type of game. We should have won that game. Maybe the guys were mentally tired. I don't know.

But the final nail in the coffin for Steven was the lost to Haiti in Panama. That was the game to the Conmebol tournament. Our guys were not mentally into that game. We did not have KJ. But we should not have  mattered. Maybe Steven did not get his message accross to the guys, or they thought that they could have got by Haiti. I think the players underestimated Haiti. That lost pissed of JW. He wanted let go SH from the beginning. But that would have back fired. So the lost to Haiti was the right time.

I know why we lost the game. We were inactive for about 6 weeks between the GC and the game against Haiti. For a team like Trini, that is too long. Too much time for the players(especially the ones at home) not playing constant football. Hart should have gotten JW to arrange 2 games  for the locals to keep them in some kind of shape. But the gulf be DJW and SW was as wide as Paria. he was already hell bent on sacking Steven.
SH had turn TT into a set play team TT had become like Gareth Southgate team in England our attack had become predictable .
SH had lost all the important games that he played the problem was DJW waited to long to fire him.

109
I'm English, he didn't play typical English football. Stereotypical English football is tough tackling, quick counter-attacking football, with a reliance on direct, quick play to the wings and typically the use of two strikers.

His play was slower, often used a single striker, and emphasised winning in midfield if I remember correctly.
Playing slower or with 1 striker doesn't change the fact that he was still playing English football it maybe a broken down version but it is still the same crap.

110
I think winning any competition in football is generally difficult. I understand why you might think that SSFL and the like don't prepare the same, but are we going to get someone who has won a top-tier professional league? It'd be interesting to find out exactly what competitions any of our NT managers have ever won?

Vranes seems to be competent at whatever he puts his hand to in T&T football - he did well at Central in his many roles and did well for the NT.

I don't think Vranes is the right man for the job. I don't know which team he coaches. Maybe QPCC?  I just don't know. I saw him with the TT team in Richmond. They were preparing for that same Shell cup in JA. The played  the US B team and loss 1-0. They had a small reception for them and he spoke very briefly. He appeared to be a soft spoken guy. Did not know how to asses him. But then a week later, to my surprise I read that they won the cup. But it appears like one minutes he is JW good books, next min. he is out. I think he coached St. Vincent, and probably Antigua and Grenada. I am not really sure. Then he dabble with almost every pro-league club in TT. You all may not like it but he has plenty local and regional bona fides. he has been in the Caribbean for more than 20 years.

But, WW and team will have to make the assessment on who the next coach will be. We don't know the intricacies of DL contract with TTFA/Concacaf/FIFA. In my honest opinion I don't see any local coach that I will feel comfortable with at this time. Angus might be the only one. He is young and vibrant. He probably has  a "football head". But that head is coaching schools boys. Coach "independent" adults is a different thing.

If TTFA decide to go foreign, what will they want him to do? Just coach the team for the next GC, and/or also do some serious developmental with the U-17s, U-19s, U-23s. Will they want him to do technical duties or hire a separate coach. Most of the coaches I see allyuh mentioned will only be in TT for carnival or a weekend in Tobago. We have gotten some good foreign coaches before. And we have been burnt by some foreign coaches. I really don't know of any foreign I can confidently say, "pick he". So that is my 2 cent.
I was at a game in Richmond VA were TT loss 1-0 to a U S A Olympic team back 1995 while I was disappointed I realize that Z Vanes uses friendly's to look at players I don't see Z Vanes as a long term solution for TT football but short term he can help. TT does not have the money to pay a big name coach that people here pushing for so they have to get a coach that is willing to work with them .

DL should not be allowed to coach another game its a waist of time he is doing the same thing SH did TT needs a coach who is going to give players like J Garcia M W Ling M P Angeron K Julien C Benny  etc international games so they can develop there games so they can get a chance to go and play in much better leagues or else they go end up playing in leagues like I league USL and CPL Z Vanes is the 1 that gave players like A Dwarika E Wise S John and A Elcock there break so he will give these young guys there break they need to get to the 2022 playoff game so they can be ready for 2026.

You’re a fool, Hart and DL are not in the same category, Hart took us to one of our best rankings in history and was sabotaged... DL was not sabotaged, he went along with the sabotage

Stop talking that nonsense on here like people dumb enough to go along with those lies
SH sabotaged he own self when he came down to TT and try to play that same old backward English football that they play in Canada.

Your daddy the dictator sabotaged him and gave that sell out DL a lot of support in the beginning... what football you think you’re boy DL was playing?

Hart was playing a mix of styles tbh as Beenie pointed out, he was ultra ambitious with his style of play

Gtfoh with that nonsense you’re talking
Both DL and SH does play English football DL look better when he had them English men on his technical staff but once they left it was all downhill both of them is just not good enough to coach at the international level.

Hart watches la liga etc wth are going with this only English ball he watches, you’re making things up as you go along, TT played attacking football, not that bs DL was playing
Dude watching la liga is not going to make somebody all of a sudden start to play good football like they play in  la liga that's something you have to train for you spending to much time with that  sensimania girl the reality is TT football system was built from English football Canadian football were SH was trained was built from  English football so you see the apple didn't fall far from the three.

You don’t know the man and what you were seeing wasn’t typical English football ... so no one knows wth you’re talking about

You’re jealous, saw the same thing with others like corneal etc
Dude even Stevie Wonder could see SH does play English football get over it.

My 2 cents........no coach is going to give young, inexperienced players free reign to "develop" in international football.....UNLESS......that's coach job security is guaranteed.  In other words......results don't matter.

If results don't matter......then a coach is MORE INCLINED to give inexperienced players the opportunity to develop on the field of play.  On the job learning.

But even if results don't matter.... a coach is always going to be mindful of their coaching record....and THAT is about WINS and LOSSES.   If they ever hope to have another coaching gig at that level.....WINS and LOSSES matter.....no matter how much you trying to develop.

A mens National senior team is NOT the place to do wholescale development.   If that's the plan....then there really is no plan.
You are a perfect example of why TT football has been in decline for the past several years because people think like you Trinidadian coach's are scared to play the youths because they worry about results a foreign coach gives the youths a chance because they know that youth can develop into a much better player than somebody already approaching there mid 20s will ever be that's still better than no plan.

TTFA has to be brave and hire a Foreign coach that will save TT football and give the youths a chance instead of hiring a bunch of COWARDS.

It is a pity we did not have a U-23 team to participate in the Olympic qualifications for Tokyo 2020.
TT should put in to host the Olympic qualifiers in the end of May early June just make it 12 teams instead of 8 there is a lot of talent on this team this  would be a nice way to open the home of football and they should let Z Vanes coach the team that way the team would be successful.

Is Vranes still around? maybe that is something we should put forward to Wallace.
you have time to waste with this troll? this jack in the box actually believes that zoran vranes is a better coach than leo benhakker, can you imagine making a dotish statement like dat and still be taken seriously? immediately after that dunce statement i would have ignored him the same way i would a fat ugly witch.

zoran vranes never won a tea cup in his life yet he has more credit than don leo a champions league and an iridivise league winner in this mad man’s eyes, mean while vranes never coached in any league worth mentioning but he’s the best man for the job. boy oh boy some trinis are silly.
I'm not saying that Z Vanes is a better coach than Leo Beenhakker but what I'm saying is Z Vanes is more suited for TT football because eastern European country's play with a #10 that's why Z Vanes does not try to stifle our best player but coach's like L Beenhakker always try to put our best player in shackles TT has to hire a coach that will let TT play there football not a coach that is going to put our best player in shackles.

Football / Re: First T&T player to play in Argentina?

There is nothing wrong with trying but 1 must be realistic the game has change the days for players from SSFL getting a pro contract is gone since the 90's more country's around the world is starting professional leagues thus starting football academy's for young kids this has made the SSFL obsolete while these kids have been preparing to be a professional footballer for several years kids in TT have been playing gallery football in the SSFL that's why players like Levi Garcia couldn't cut in Holland.

Its going to be hard for a player who was playing SSFL to make in the Argentinian league maybe a team in the lower division might give him a chance.

Dennis Lawrence isn't exactly a "local coach"

Certainly not any more "local" than SH was

ALL coaches have their preferences....bias some might say.

De same Beenie kept Latas on the bench until the very last game when we were already out in the world cup

Ranjitsingh didn't play under SH either.  Different circumstances I know....but still the fact remains.

Beenhakker and Hart were regarded as successful coaches. If you achieve success, you are given leeway to bench and play favourites.

But if you are approaching 'worst coach ever' status at breakneck speed the way Lawrence is/has then you have will have a hell of a time justifying inclusions/exclusions/strategy.
Success is in the eyes of the beholder people say Beenhakker was a successful coach because he got TT to the WC through the back door with the 4th spot but they overlook the fact that if R Latapy had not come out of retirement Beenakker would have failed just like the other coach's fail when they coach TT it was more luck than success with Beenhakker people say S Hart was a successful coach because he got to the quarterfinal rounds in the Gold Cup 2 times but they overlook the fact that the GC is a dress rehearsal for the WC if you can't get your team to the semifinal rounds you have failed.
