I think winning any competition in football is generally difficult. I understand why you might think that SSFL and the like don't prepare the same, but are we going to get someone who has won a top-tier professional league? It'd be interesting to find out exactly what competitions any of our NT managers have ever won?

Vranes seems to be competent at whatever he puts his hand to in T&T football - he did well at Central in his many roles and did well for the NT.

I don't think Vranes is the right man for the job. I don't know which team he coaches. Maybe QPCC?  I just don't know. I saw him with the TT team in Richmond. They were preparing for that same Shell cup in JA. The played  the US B team and loss 1-0. They had a small reception for them and he spoke very briefly. He appeared to be a soft spoken guy. Did not know how to asses him. But then a week later, to my surprise I read that they won the cup. But it appears like one minutes he is JW good books, next min. he is out. I think he coached St. Vincent, and probably Antigua and Grenada. I am not really sure. Then he dabble with almost every pro-league club in TT. You all may not like it but he has plenty local and regional bona fides. he has been in the Caribbean for more than 20 years.

But, WW and team will have to make the assessment on who the next coach will be. We don't know the intricacies of DL contract with TTFA/Concacaf/FIFA. In my honest opinion I don't see any local coach that I will feel comfortable with at this time. Angus might be the only one. He is young and vibrant. He probably has  a "football head". But that head is coaching schools boys. Coach "independent" adults is a different thing.

If TTFA decide to go foreign, what will they want him to do? Just coach the team for the next GC, and/or also do some serious developmental with the U-17s, U-19s, U-23s. Will they want him to do technical duties or hire a separate coach. Most of the coaches I see allyuh mentioned will only be in TT for carnival or a weekend in Tobago. We have gotten some good foreign coaches before. And we have been burnt by some foreign coaches. I really don't know of any foreign I can confidently say, "pick he". So that is my 2 cent.
I was at a game in Richmond VA were TT loss 1-0 to a U S A Olympic team back 1995 while I was disappointed I realize that Z Vanes uses friendly's to look at players I don't see Z Vanes as a long term solution for TT football but short term he can help. TT does not have the money to pay a big name coach that people here pushing for so they have to get a coach that is willing to work with them .

DL should not be allowed to coach another game its a waist of time he is doing the same thing SH did TT needs a coach who is going to give players like J Garcia M W Ling M P Angeron K Julien C Benny  etc international games so they can develop there games so they can get a chance to go and play in much better leagues or else they go end up playing in leagues like I league USL and CPL Z Vanes is the 1 that gave players like A Dwarika E Wise S John and A Elcock there break so he will give these young guys there break they need to get to the 2022 playoff game so they can be ready for 2026.

It is a pity we did not have a U-23 team to participate in the Olympic qualifications for Tokyo 2020.
TT should put in to host the Olympic qualifiers in the end of May early June just make it 12 teams instead of 8 there is a lot of talent on this team this  would be a nice way to open the home of football and they should let Z Vanes coach the team that way the team would be successful.

Is Vranes still around? maybe that is something we should put forward to Wallace.
you have time to waste with this troll? this jack in the box actually believes that zoran vranes is a better coach than leo benhakker, can you imagine making a dotish statement like dat and still be taken seriously? immediately after that dunce statement i would have ignored him the same way i would a fat ugly witch.

zoran vranes never won a tea cup in his life yet he has more credit than don leo a champions league and an iridivise league winner in this mad man’s eyes, mean while vranes never coached in any league worth mentioning but he’s the best man for the job. boy oh boy some trinis are silly.
I'm not saying that Z Vanes is a better coach than Leo Beenhakker but what I'm saying is Z Vanes is more suited for TT football because eastern European country's play with a #10 that's why Z Vanes does not try to stifle our best player but coach's like L Beenhakker always try to put our best player in shackles TT has to hire a coach that will let TT play there football not a coach that is going to put our best player in shackles.

There is nothing wrong with trying but 1 must be realistic the game has change the days for players from SSFL getting a pro contract is gone since the 90's more country's around the world is starting professional leagues thus starting football academy's for young kids this has made the SSFL obsolete while these kids have been preparing to be a professional footballer for several years kids in TT have been playing gallery football in the SSFL that's why players like Levi Garcia couldn't cut in Holland.

Its going to be hard for a player who was playing SSFL to make in the Argentinian league maybe a team in the lower division might give him a chance.

Dennis Lawrence isn't exactly a "local coach"

Certainly not any more "local" than SH was

ALL coaches have their preferences....bias some might say.

De same Beenie kept Latas on the bench until the very last game when we were already out in the world cup

Ranjitsingh didn't play under SH either.  Different circumstances I know....but still the fact remains.

Beenhakker and Hart were regarded as successful coaches. If you achieve success, you are given leeway to bench and play favourites.

But if you are approaching 'worst coach ever' status at breakneck speed the way Lawrence is/has then you have will have a hell of a time justifying inclusions/exclusions/strategy.
Success is in the eyes of the beholder people say Beenhakker was a successful coach because he got TT to the WC through the back door with the 4th spot but they overlook the fact that if R Latapy had not come out of retirement Beenakker would have failed just like the other coach's fail when they coach TT it was more luck than success with Beenhakker people say S Hart was a successful coach because he got to the quarterfinal rounds in the Gold Cup 2 times but they overlook the fact that the GC is a dress rehearsal for the WC if you can't get your team to the semifinal rounds you have failed.

I'm glad you post that list this just shows why TT football is on a downward spiral because people think like yourself they overlook the fact that S Hart been coaching at a amateur level all his time in Canada and it shows bigtime when he try's to coach at the international level HFX Wanderers is his only professional job and look how that's going while Z Vanes grew up trained and coached in a real professional environment anyone trying to compare the both of them is living in a bubble .

But unsurprisingly yuh not making much sense at all. If a coach is coaching professional players how can that activity be described as amateur? Canadian NT players were playing all over the world at levels higher than the the vast majority of players Hart worked with when he assumed the T&T job.
Coaching professional players does not make a amateur coach a professional and the end of the day he still a amateur.

You don't understand (either out of willful ignorance or incidental ignorance) what renders a coach a professional coach.
If you think S Hart is a professional coach you don't understand either.

TT need   coach's like Francisco Maturana and Zoran Vanes if they want to build a team for 2022 once they got rid of these 2 guys it was all down hill.
no offense, but no bloody thank you. you must be drinking paint to think that Maturana and vranes is better than Steven hart, and I don’t want another session with Steve hart. we all saw what Maturana gives and we also saw what vranes has to offer and it wasn’t anything spectacular, in fact those guys can’t even land a job elsewhere but you want to stick us with recycled coaches. no way.

if the next federation wants to succeed they need a clean slate with new faces all the way around, no local assistant coaches and no local trainers, in fact no locals hanging around period, they are all bloody big ass blights and meddlers, and we don’t want no recyclables.
I would take F Maturana and Z Vanes over S Hart any day anytime these guys have proven that they can coach at the international level  S Hart has not.
true to form. You just plain talking tata..Don't choke on yuh haterade
Neither of those 2 have more International coaching experience than Hart, Though, if I be he, I wouldn't touch that coaching position with a email farless a pole. Besides, I doubt Lawrence going anywhere fast.

Yuh ever wonder why Maturana terms are so short ? Is Vranes even coaching now ?
Given the financial situation and a freezing over of hell, i would give Angus Eve or Derek King a shot. And even they might refuse, liking they lives without the stress right now.

The problem is that S Hart could not beat these teams either !!

During the period that KD was an active international, the assertion regarding his total vis-à-vis Molino and Guerra combined, maybe about equal. I will place that in Tallman's hands to troubleshoot. Guerra doesn't have a remarkable goal scoring tally at NT level. However, not lost in the comparison has to be that KD begins from a deeper starting position on the pitch.

And yes, in stinking up de place he did score clutch goals.

Kevin Molino: 20 goals, 50 caps
Keon Daniel: 14 goals, 59 caps
Ataulla Guerra: 7 goals, 43 caps

1. What I want/ed you to confirm is how many goals Molino has scored since Keon played his last international. I think he's scored 16 goals in that period and Guerra 5 during the same time frame. That being the case, pullstones' assertion would be correct (KD outscored KM and AG combined).

Keon Daniel's last International match was against Mexico on July 20th 2013. Since then, Kevin Molino has scored 17 goals in 31 games, and Ataulla Guerra has scored 5 goals in 21 games.
Wow these stats bring this argument to light it took K Daniel 59 games to score 14 goals in 6 years Ataulla Guerra scored 5 goals in 21 games in 6 years had he played the same amount of games as K Daniel he could have surpass K Daniel and K Molino scored 17 goals in 31 games in 6  years had he played the same amount games as K Daniel he would more than double the amount of goals that K Daniel scored in the same period that's mind boggling :o.

Most of the people and coach's in TT like players like K Daniel K Cummings etc they like them English footballers who are good dead ball specialist but that's all they can do these have a easy path to the NT look at how hard players like S De Silva M W Ling and J Garcia have to get on the NT .

I don't give 2 hoots about what you feel about stereotypes that's a part of life if you can't deal with it you need to move to another planet .

K Molino is probably the only name you can call on that list while he does have a little bit of physical and athletic ability because he come from the Hispanic people he inherited some of that Latin flair so he is technically good as well.

When S Hart took over the team he put K Molino on the bench because he is not his type of player he was going with D Roberts and the kid from Tobago I believe his name was Daniels or something like that he was trying to play his English football but when his back was against the wall and he was loosing he finally took Molino off the bench and when he took over the midfield he had no choice but to play him after that.

Good, so you should have no problem with being stereotyped as an idiot. (Have you re-read the genetics nonsense you just posted about Molino? Wow!)

Essentially your contention is that Hart selected Keon Daniel over Molino because Keon is big, strong and black?
:rotfl:  :rotfl: :rotfl:  Or should that be bigger, blacker, stronger?

(You need to come up to speed on Keon Daniel)

If I were you, I would stay away from this line of reasoning in any setting other than polite company.

Alright, let's cut to the chase and see whose feelings actually get hurt. M Woo Ling is no Judah Garcia and is not currently anywhere near serious consideration for the NT and a consummate pro like De Silva shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Woo Ling. Show some respect. In any event, the  factors that have impeded De Silva from consolidating an international place at senior team level are decidedly different from those that are keeping Woo Ling out of the conversation entirely. Maybe he should move to Iceland and find out if he can hang in that league.

Meanwhile, explain this to me, since Molino was the antidote why didn't Hart play Molino versus Messi and Argentina (when neither Daniel nor Roberts was there)? Bearing in mind that Molino had already met the starting whistle under SH by this match. His Latin flair kept him on the bench? Or was it something else?

Dude I don't care about your silly emotions I am just stating the facts and the facts are TT football was built off of the English system the Canadian system was built off of the English system which is power strength fitness physical and athletic ability in TT that translate to a big strong black bloke so just get over it.

K Daniel use to really stink up the place when ever he played for TT no sense having a player who was only good at free kicks.

A Guerra and K Molino both came out of the Hispanic people so they both inherited some of that latin flair at that they were both on the same level.

I don't care who is better my point is once TT keep hiring coach's like J Shabazz S Hart and D Lawrence our better technical players like S DE Silva M W Ling and J Garcia would not get a fair chance and if you can't see that you are just as bad as they are.

However, it has to be said that the idea of a coach selecting players on the basis of 'big, strong, black" plays into the worst of stereotype and caricature, reduces players to physical attribution only and ascribes no value to the quality and presence of their thought processes on the field of play.

In addition, if we consider the players who have played under Shabazz, under Hart or under Lawrence in advanced areas of the pitch ... who precisely fits the stereotype? Molino? No. It's not that absurd.
I don't give 2 hoots about what you feel about stereotypes that's a part of life if you can't deal with it you need to move to another planet .

1. Why is Judah Garcia excluded? Lucrative prospect somewhere?

2. Who exactly is being tested in this squad of familiar faces?

3. What is John-Paul Rochford doing? He too busy for this dance? Or is it perception of his physique that is denying his inclusion? Because he certainly could have danced in Toluca.

A coach like  R Latapy would play Judah Garcia because that's his type of football or a coach like Z Vanes but coach's like D Lawrence S Hart and J Shabazz would not play him because they does play English football so the better technical players like S De Silva M W Ling and J Garcia go be sucking salt this rounds with these type of coach's  them men looking for a big strong black bloke.

Honduras is a legitimate top 4 team in the CONCACAF they have been battling it out with Costa Rica for 3rd and 4 spot for past decade the ease in which 1ball over the of the defense left Ellis alone with man to beat was not a good sign of things to come it was to easy the way Honduras was able to play through TT defense.

I watched A Ellis terrorize the Jamaican defense in Kingston but there 2 defensive midfielders was always there to put out the fire TT defensive midfielders was always missing in action L Paul was always late getting inside the box and K Hyland was no wear to be found this gave there attack uncontested shoots on goal I don't think these guys understand there roles they are not providing enough cover for our left back and right back when they go forward which is leaving A Ellis with 1 on 1 duals with Cyrus and that's not good.

K Molino was bottled up he had to drop back deep just to get the ball when ever our attacker got free there was always enough cover to breakup the attack all of our shoots was contested and taking off a forward when we needs goals was a mistake once he took of D Carr there was no one running in the channels anymore that freed up there center backs.

This game was heartbreaking it was the best I have seen the team play under DL cause he had to win but it also showed that he is not ready for international football without them English men to help him on the technical staff he is just as bad as S Hart and B St Clair since them English men went back to England TT defense has now become a open door he is just not ready for the big time.

M Philip was always in no mans land he reminds me of K Jack always getting caught in no mans land every corner every set piece was scary it was like a goal was going to score TT need to give GR a chance they need a goalkeeper that takes command of his box.

The team lost its width when he took off L Garcia he should have taken off A Jones instead.
