With the outcome of the NT selection, what is the future of Terry Fenwick in T&T football? Looks like if he wants to advance to the NT level he should consider reading a page from the Belgian's book and hit the nomad trail.

Thoughts?

I recognize the playing career of Fenwick as part of his credibility but that playing success ended in 1993, before the transformation of the league into a truly open competitive league with players and managers from all over the world.

His management success is limited to our not so pro league as his time at Portsmouth is over 20 years ago.

Frankly, I do not rate English managers nor English development of players. The top two leagues in the world are La Liga and EPL; neither is led by English managers. The La Liga and EPL clubs are NOT spending top dollar for English developed players.

We are so close to Brasil, Argentina and Uruguay a combined 9 World Cup championships but we looking at England for development of players and management.

In the short term his methods will work in TnT because it increases speed of play, fitness and work rate. I have nothing against Fenwick but I do not believe that the future of our football can be placed in an Englishman's hands. Not because he is English but because of how he has been trained and developed and views football.

Then again, the development of players is not the job of any one coach. Until we implement a sustainable development programme, our inconsistent results will remain. How do you fix players at the senior level who are technically unsound? By dat time it too late.

Totally agree that that 1) you can not fix technically flawed players at senior level and 2) a development programme is required from ages.

My main point is that we need to look to our neighbors in South America, damn even our baseball crazy neighbors in Venezeula are following their South American neighbors to increased success.

I hope this works out for Molino but I am somewhat concerned as he is 1. now a huge part of what Minnesota will try to accomplish and 2. the weather will be totally different from Trinidad and Orlando.  Minneapolis, Minnesota is damn hot in the Summer and freezing cold the winter; the beginning and end of season will be tough on him, he should be able to handle the heat.

Isaiah Hudson, Tyrel Emmanuel and Quinn Rodney out due to different disciplinary issues.

Not sure about the disciplinary process for Emmanuel and Rodney with TTFA. However, excluding Hudson after the nonsense that happened in Curacao at CFU's is the correct move.

He is part of the U20s but might not sure if he is available as he is in France on trial with a top club.

Plus the father pissed how U17s treat his young brother, Samory last year.

If we have any momentum from stopping the Fevrier hiring, we have to use it for a MOVEMENT to pressure the TTFA to get a competent Technical Director.

In June the man putting plans in place for youth development with special emphasis on woman, he stated:

Pre-K and Kindergarden for ages 3-5
Grass roots ages 6-13
Elite Development Program for ages 14-19

All starting in September 2016--where the plans? Where the programs?

Anybody believe this is the person for our future?

Not as head coach, maybe assistant.

There must be a reason why Roberto Martinez didn't take him.

What Lawrence doing now?

He is not luggage, Martinez can not take him everywhere.

The make up of a club is vastly different than a National Team, the structure and demands likely did not have room for him since Belgium was not changing U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, nor U21 coaches as they have confidence in their development plan.

I am not sure where Dennis is, note that Martinez did take three persons with him but those guys were with him at Swansea, Wigan and Everton.  Dennis was an a valuable assistant to Martinez but not a the level of Graeme Jones.

Meanwhile, it is under-stood a squad of 23 players conducted an online vote via chat and placed Fevrier in front with nine votes overall. A player from the chat who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Fenwick received two votes and Hart the same amount. There was also a vote for Angus Eve, a former national coach to be considered for the Soca Warriors top spot as well.

The journalist either has a math problem or poor sentence structure, because assuming 23 players voted:

Fevrier 9
Hart     2-This is questionable considering the awkward language of the author
Fenwick 2
Eve       1
             TOTAL 14

Where the other 9 votes ?

T&T U20s open camp, target World Cup return

COUVA, Trinidad & Tobago – In the FIFA U-20 World Cup’s 40-year history, Trinidad & Tobago has competed in the event twice: 1990 and 2009.

If they are to book a third trip, though, the Soca Warriors will need to finish either first or second in one of the two classification round groups at the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, which will be played February 17-March 5 in Costa Rica.

In order to give his team the best opportunity to make that objective a reality, head coach Brian Williams opened Monday a 10-day training camp at Ato Boldon Stadium.

“We started the training camp today and I am indeed happy that we’ve been able to come together for this period to start the year off,” Williams told TTFA Media. “But, more importantly, have the opportunity to continue the team bonding process and also pay closer attention to some specifics and evaluate the players before we come down to our final selection for the competition.

“I am pleased with the progress we’ve made but it will be important for us to get in a couple good training matches before we head into the tournament in Costa Rica.”

T&T secured a berth for the CONCACAF event by finishing fourth in Caribbean qualifying last year. Over the course of first round and finals play, it posted an overall record of 3W-5D-1L, as Nicholas Dillon lead the way with eight goals.

Bermuda, which posted a 2-1 win over Trinidad in the Caribbean match for third place, will be T&T’s opening opponent at the CONCACAF event on February 19, with host Costa Rica (Feb. 22) and El Salvador (Feb. 25) to follow.

The trio will undoubtedly make for a difficult mountain to scale, but Williams is confident in his squad.

“It is important for us to do well in this competition and hopefully qualify for a third under 20 World Cup because the experience and the exposure for the players is crucial for our football program ahead, especially leading into the national senior team,” he finished. “We have been emphasizing this to the players and I think they have it in their minds that this period coming up is one where they must make the necessary sacrifices and put their best foot forward for the country and for themselves.”

they conceded 4 bloody goals are you crazy? we had three of our starting first team defenders two starting first team midfielders and we allowed haiti second string team to score four goals on us in a must win game. our defense has always been our achilles heal. these five players continuesly let down the team time abd time again. i say keep bateau and drop that whole back line including the keeper. they are a totals waste of time.

I maybe crazy but not naive like you to think defense is the responsibility of the defenders. The forwards are the first line , the midfield the 2nd and the back 4 the last. Tell me what the 1st and 2nd line did then talk about the defenders and goal keeper. In modern football 11 defend and 11 attack.

So my next question is, who in the world is the scout for the national team???
I'd like him to get a game as well, but you cyah base dem thing on YouTube videos. Every goalkeeper have highlights and great saves. Them videos eh go show how often he does shit down the place and how.

He is starting goal keeper for Louisville FC in USL where we have plenty players on the national team from. Louisville is one of the better teams in USL and only Hart call him up.

Tonight Haiti second goal was scored by Derrick Etienne who plays for NYRBII in same league, at least Haiti giving quality young players a chance whether local or foreign

Taking all the setbacks our C team haven't done as bad as was expected, it shows what we can do with a little more exposure, I am talking about the home grown players. The new coach must also be given some credit. If we fail to win tonite, there seems to be room for more improvement, and a chance to make Russia.

You obviously do not fully understand the quality of the teams in the HEX; that is technical ability, physical ability and the quality of their coaching staffs.
