Same shit, same crying, same talking points every cycle.

Now allyuh can go back to regular programming until the next Olympic cycle.
like i said, not because no one visits this site regularly to talk sport, amounts to not following or supporting, you're just a very unpleasant, judgmental bloke, that's why i've never answered you until today. you always seem to know everything and what's wrong with everyone. you come over as very arrogant mate.

62
Here are the Facts!

2008 - 2 medals won
2012 - 4 medals won
2016 -1 medal won
2020 -  but yet old men in here playing surprised if we win 0 medals

Its like you casual track and field fans come here every four years and just dream of T&T winning a bunch of medals when that has never been our history  :D
How many medals did we win at the recent 2019 world champs? Did you casual fans forget?

Some of allyuh old men do not even know our athletes before this Olympics. Rarely followed them and rarely pushed and supported them. And when this is all over you go back to not caring. How many of you old head football guys really know about Tyra Gitten or Nicholas Paul before this Olympics? Maybe just a few of you. You are not real supporters just medal dreamers so you can brag your country won a medal

If we medal in the men 4x4 that is good we just keeping up with our recent 1 medal per Olympics tally and by next week everything back to normal with non supportive fans and broken athletics system in T&T. So keep allyuh crying to allyuhs elf

and gawd on pitch do not ever quote me again on same 10 medal by 2024 nonsense, no one in their right mind ever believed that nonsense. so dont bother to mention it.
.
no ones crying little boy, we're just tired of these clueless chimps leading the country into battle without proper preparations, this bullcrap has been going on for decades and people have the right to voice their opinion. and how do you know that we don't support and follow athletics? not because someone comes on a message board and talk athletics means that they are more eligable to give their opinion than you who live on it.

ato bolden hasn't post here in years, does that mean that he is not ....or should not talk about the state of our athletic program? there were tons of members who no longer visit to talk about any sport discipline, does that mean that they no longer watch athletics because they don't visit the site anymore? foloish argument skippy.

BTW when these big mouth trinidadians decide to get serious and take the bull by the horn and stop making excuses for failure, that would be the day that our nation would be a splendid place, both to reside and take pride in. but as it stands, every body in trinidad seems to know what's best for the country, both in positions of authority and on social media, but no ne wants to step forward and offer themselves for service, it's just talk talk talk and more talk, that while the country sailing down shit creek.

PS. supporting sports don't mean that you go to games and talk sports morning noon and night on a message board, in fact there are people who actually support with their time and wallets. you might want to know who you're getting at before you do.

63
This ain't a knock against the athletes. Last place in the heats 4x100 women.

Khalifa has gone backwards. She had so much potential. Ever since she left Ato, her career has slid down. She must have run 12 on the first leg.
mate it might sound harsh but the people in TT is living on past glory when the world was horse and buggy, now that technology has exposed our laziness we still did not get the memo that sports is now a money making venture and if you want to be successful in sports you have to spend money and lots of it in order to acquire the desired results.

it pains me to see that jamaica has so many medals while we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for a single bronze medal, that when trinidad and tobago has set the stage for successful sport personalities in the region. we have over five stadiums with track and field capabilities, we have a state of the art indoor velodrome and an out door track as well. we have an aquatic center that is world class and sporting complex and fields all over this country, yet jamaica who have les facilities than us are producing some of the best athletes in the world,

and why is that? because every sporting discipline in this country have big mouth clueless presidents running their association with their supporters in the media, from david john williams to azim basaarat and brian lewis all clueless as they come with big loud xenophobic barrels for mouths, and don't have a clue how to produce results.

in all honesty i wish we don't see not one medal, and i'm hoping that everyone comes in last of the lot, maybe then we will be compelled to have the long awaited conversation that the world has gone and left us behind and we need to get serious and rid ourselves of these monkeys we have masquerading as association presidents.

another thing too GOP, when our businessmen decides to give back to the country instead of being stingy
and not leave the financial burden squarely on the shoulders of the government, maybe then we will experience some kind of success.

i say let them run last, get knock out in the prelims in every sport discipline until they buck up on their foolish wotless behavior, and the masses also have to take some blame because they don't support sporting events period, it's like all they know to do is lime, drink and wine down low, oye trinidad has become one worthless country old man, my god the people has lost so much of their standards it's chilling to observe.

Football / Re: 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup Thread
« on: July 30, 2021, 04:38:26 PM »
Looks like Qatar getting their money worth. I wonder how much they paid Concacaf for an "invitation" to the tournament? . . By way of Qatar Airways.

Maybe they got a 2 for 1 deal on Gold Cups, given they in next time too...

100.. As we all can see, having fat pockets play a huge role in developing a good team.

... and buying a good team.

Many naturalizad players with NO ancestral connections to Qatar, yet we have self-imposed roadblocks to bringing heritage players aboard.
that might be so, but it’s a fact that they have a very good academy in a country of less than a million that is producing very good footballers. lets not fool ourselves Qatar outplayed the usa last night and looked the more dangerous, but the thing that saved American financial interest was the corrupt concacaf officiating, they all knew that a mexico usa final would bring in the big bucks both with cooperate sponsorship ala television viewership and a packed stadium, no wonder the gold cup won’t be held anywhere else.

I say it’s time that CFU boycott this farce of a tournament, let the north and Central Americans keep their bogus tournament and call it the North American cup since no one else has won the darn thing except for the three North American countries, plus it’s held in North America each and every years, so why not.

the real problem is that we in CFU is inundated with yes men and hungry sticky fingered lackeys who do what they are told while hoping for a wad to line their greasy pockets, and in no part of their responsibilities to their federation and fellow CFU neighbors is taken seriously.

these old coots are only interested in being important to their puppet masters, man like DJW, randy harris, Jeffery web, the Bahamian bloke who blew the whistle on jack’s attempted coup and all the old broke pocket butlers from belize all the way to suriname are nothing but yes men wannabes who’s main concern is to be important but have absolutely no interest in advancing football in their own countries, let alone the CFU region. so sad….where are we going to find men who will stand up to concacaf and fifa to make us our own confederation with our solid block of votes?

on another note, i watch this buhalter coach and he encourages a lot of nasty conduct with his players. i've also been watching this kevin acosta guy and he is really as funky ass dirty as all hell rotten player. this man actually fouled his way through this tournament but no one was paying attention including the officiating staff.  in all honesty he shouldn't have played last night because he has done so much dirt during this tournament but continued to be spared by the referees.

did anyone saw what happen with this penalty? the ref royally missed the penalty despite being right there, and only when challenged he did a review, not only that but he allowed that hang lip scumbag yankee boy kevin acosta so antagonize the qatar players just so he could throw them off their game, and it worked.

these ass kissing referees in concacaf always cater to the united states players and neglect to properly officiate the game, why would they need help is they are the home team with the better players? i'm so waiting for the world cup to see this team demoralized, they haven't really played any one yet, and in a foreign environment they certainly won't get all the lofty calls that they're grown used to, in fact it's almost like a privilege, and it's a fact that they are only bad in their yard, but are a horrible road team. can't bloody stand them and their bias commentary, hate this f#&*ing team i loath them.

« on: July 30, 2021, 02:27:37 AM »
how long is CFU willing to put up with this charade call concacaf?i believe since in the day of jack warner's leadreship CFU should have been it's own confederation, just look at comebol, they have ten teams and are their own confederation while CFU stand 35 strong and we are still joined to the hip of central and north america and i believe that this is wrong. the rational thing should have been that the americas compete against each other in a confederation of the americas and leave CFU on their own.

take the gold cup for instance, every time it is held on U.S. soil for the past 25 years, the only other time they held it else where was in 2019 where a few group stage matches were held in costa rica, but it's has been forever since this tournament is held in the united states and they benefited tremendously by this move because they have won the darn thing half the time they hosted it, how on earth could this be fair?

it's almost astonishing to think that we caribbean people who love to boast of our proactive culture allowed the united states to dictate to us where the gold cup should be held every time it rolls around, i want to see if these blasted monkeys in football who's always talking out their assholes would for once stand up for principle and demand that the next gold cup be held in the caribbean, damit we have 35 flooking votes but we act like we only have seven like central america.

you know Wim was right about us, we only good for one thing, and that's our own selfish needs. sit under a bloody tree and wine to soca and drink rum and coconut water, that's all we're good for. i'm sure all the strong caribbean leaders like norman manley, grantly adam, dr williams and errol barrow must be turning over at the way how the caribbean spirit was subdued by western greed. we started off as a resilient people and weaned into a lazy bunch of self serving parasites.

as for the USA and mexico, they will continue to win this thing till thy kingdom come because there are no federations in concacaf with the guts to stand up and say no more, and mexico won't because it benefits them just as much because they have a sizable population in the united states plus they are just next door and their fans travel far and wide to see them play, which gives both nations a home field advantage. i just can't believe that no one ever raised this concern, i'm stunned.

Sancho believes that if given the nod, Eve will have to orchestrate a restructuring of the national team while at the same time winning matches.

“From a development standpoint, from the player pool that he has, all these things have to come into play,” Sancho says.

In the short term, if given the job full-time, Eve will probably retain the experience of Sheldon Bateau, Aubrey David, Kevin Molino, Joevin Jones and captain Khaleem Hyland. However, he now has likely and younger replacements available in Keston Julien (22), Triston Hodge (26), Jesse Williams (20) Jelani Peters, Justin Garcia, Noah Powder (22), Shannon Gomez (25), Levi Garcia, Ross Russell Jr and Alvin Jones.

There are also potential young recruits further up-field in Justin Araujo-Wilson (18), Che Benny (20), Molik Khan (18), Akeem Roach (25), Kathon St Hillaire (23), Daniel Phillip (20), Jomal Wiliams (27), Neveal Hackshaw, Duane Muckette (26), Shaqueen Joseph, Molik Khan, Isaiah Lee (21), Isaiah Hudson, Akeem Garcia, Ryan Rampersad, Justin Sadoo and Tyrel “Pappy” Emmanuel, along with those who will emerge from the local league.

pullstones, look like Sancho reading your comments on this forum boy.
i don't think so deeks. he's advocating for eve and i'm in strong opposition to his appointment, he's talking about comradery with the players and i say that players should be able to be motivated even if playing for the devil as a coach, once they understand that they are out there playing for the shirt and the flag, not a doting grandfather favorite uncle coach to be motivated to play or country. trinis will get nowhere if we don't toughen up, our youths are way too sensitive to survive the rigors of the modern sporting environment.

Yall must stop talk stupidness Poon got an injury in training while in Florida thats the only reason he dint make the 23 man squad
so who's fault is that? if angus believed in transparency then he would have been decent enough to make an announcement on the player's position and we wouldn't have to guess. and i'll tell you this, the only reason i am against angus as coach is because of what i've seen in the past with local coaches. there's way too much favoritism and terrible decision making on their part especially with player selection, for instance look at the cadre of good players lawrence ignored, frenderup, greg ranjitsingh, hackshaw, jelani peters, noah powder, reon moore, poon angeron, duane muckette and marcus joseph to name few. so you will have to forgive me if i come over as foolish, i'm just fed up of the terrible decision making by these so called local coaches.

So whats next for this youngster . the goldcup would have been a nice showcase for him .   Belgium  french 2nd division switzerland  or portugal would be a nice start ..... Or even back in argentina
if angus has anything to do with it this young man’s career would be in the doldrums before you know it, not to mention GG the third and all who look like them. these former footballers are the enemies of TT football, didn’t you know? some don’t like indian like greg ranjitsingh and some don’t like french creole like poon angeron and Gary. spend some time in trinidad and tobago and you would get a clearer picture of the nature of that beast call TT.

PS. how many games did frenderup play in the gold cup? imagine an aging failed goal keeper gets more exposure than a younger more capable custodian with far more prospects, now what’s that about?

A crappy 1-1 draw vs guatemala when you drew 0-0 with mexico is something to be proud and satisfied with, really Clayton that’s the best you could come up with? Is pride and belief in themselves you said mister, are you for real? these three performances was the worst I’ve seen in national colors. in the first game mexico dominated from start to finish with some 30 shots on goal, vs El Salvador they played a six man defensive line up and still conceded twice, and came back against a second string guatemala with a defensive line up again, this time unable to put the game away after going ahead, come on Clayton who are you kidding.

a month ago you and the whole football fraternity was out with your placards calling for fenwick’s head, now today you’re giving out passes and making excuses calling shitty performances belief sessions, you guys are the reason why trinidad is such a criminal shit hole. you exonerate mediocrity when it’s one of your own but fly off the handle with a foreigner.

you people stood by and destroyed one of the most progressive little nations in the west with your unpatriotic thieving ways and your bullshit double standards. you lowered the standard of the nation to facilitate your friends and relatives, be it job opportunity, education or even accreditation. you people are the worst, you keep lowering the bar each and evey time brining this nation down with your ineptitude and double standards. where’s the fire angus eve thread?

I think Eve's inclination towards pragmatism caused him to lose very "gettable" points in the end though he would still got fair showing out of the team not good but fair, Fenwick's style and temperament just does not suit this team, result aside, If you looked with an unbiased eye yuh could kinda see "sumting" coming together......kinda....still think he needs to be braver, but yuh could kinda see "sumting", whether it real or mirage should be tested, IMHO, can't say that I could see "sumting" with Fenwick results aside, d players seemed uninterested or a little annoyed on d few occasions yuh could judge facial expressions from d footage of games, dat cyah be ah good sign
whether it’s fenwick, fister or hart, these lads want a friend to pat them on the back, not a coach to prepare them to play for their country. I want to know were they disinterested playing for lawrence as well thus the reason they lost 17 games in succession? this international football is not about some prima donnas coming together to lime with the boys and hustle some match fees and head back to their clubs, this is about pride in the uniform. just look at quoto, Quintero and zardes how those guys go out and kill themselves for the shirt, you think they give a damn about who’s coaching them? no, it’s all about the shirt and the fans who travel thousands of miles to see them play. our lads could give less than a damn about that ttfa logo on their uniform, or the flag for that matter, in fact it’s all about them.

....

now i am certainly not an advocate for mr fenwick but he was criticized by the whole nation especially those former footballers  for his results, but angus whp performed poorly is being endorsed by the whole football fraternity, did i fking miss something here?
...

I respect the rest of your post  :beermug: , but also think it a bit disingenuous on the comparison between Fenwick and Eve to a) Restrict the conversation to "competitive matches" so as to not mention a worst-ever drubbing against a natural comparison to Mexico and b) to not try to compare teams faced -- using  Most recent Fifa Rankings for example, with PR & Montserrat similarly ranked, and Eve's opposition in the upper half of our Confed's rankings (obviously Fr Guiana has no ranking) vs those near the bottom.

** edit -- I guess you could compare St Kitts vs Guatemala -- the the idea of 'competitive match' would come back into play.
I’ll be honest with you mate, I totally hate engaging you, and I’ll say why. you remind me of the typical trinidadians who live in britain who believes that trinidad football was such a venerated version of football second only to brazilian football, in fact I had a neighbor who moved all the way from the slums of  east London to tell me and my family that we should be ashamed to be west brom supporters being from trinidad and all, to support a crappy second division boom kick pot pie team when there’s Liverpool and Man U as better options.

Mate if you hate terry then that’s fine by me, I have no allegiance to fenwick nor any other coach for that matter, but IMO fenwick losing 7-0 to the United States is no different than Dennis lawrence losing 6-0 or steven hart 4-0 to the same usa, and those are still drubbings, but here’s the kicker, fenwick used a team he saw for the first time and hardly had any sessions with them, plus he was without the service of hyland, bateau, jovin, molino, levi garcia and quite a few players whom both hart and lawrence had available, in other words he was using this team for the first time, players who never met each other before all thrown together to play the best team in concacaf not having the luxury to train because of health restriction with no league for over a year, are you guys joking?

all this rubbish about worst drubbing we ever had is idiotic, germany beat the mighty brazil 7-0 in a quarter final match in front of their home crowd in a tournament that brazil was anticipated to win, since then the Brazilians have moved on change coaches and is now somewhere 3rd in the world fifa rankings. as bad as terry was he IMO would have done better vs El Salvador and guatemala, in fact any coach that’s worth his weight in salt would have beaten those two teams.

angus played a defensive game against a team that failed to score The whole tournament and used a predominantly local team that lacked fitness and played no football all season not being able to string two passes together, talk about ugly football, and now the whole local fraternity is swinging on this guys nuts for under performing. no wonder our football is going nowhere slow or fast, it’s because these utter morons who are in charge of football continue to make some of the worst decisions imaginable, even a bloody monkey has better decision making skills than these clowns. it’s just shameful even to think about it.

man i can tell you i swear that am terribly afraid of trinidadians. i have met trinidadians who are against small islanders coming to trinidad seeking a better life yet they are all over england, usa and canada seeking a better life and even their grandparents and great grandparents were from these same small islands that they speak about in very unsavory terms, now if that's not madness then i'm clueless on any other matter.

now these people are telling us that angus should be given charge of our national team when angus only won a single game vs monserratt, he drew with french guina, and did not win one single game in the gold cup while scoring only a single solitary goal.

terry fenwick on the other hand did not lose a competitive game in his tenure, in fact his players scored 6 goals in the world cup campaign and did not lose one game, and was booted out because he didn't get us to the octagon, but angus gets a break though he didn't get passed the group stage scoring one single goal vs the worst team in the group with a rookie goal keeper between the sticks?

now i am certainly not an advocate for mr fenwick but he was criticized by the whole nation especially those former footballers  for his results, but angus whp performed poorly is being endorsed by the whole football fraternity, did i fking miss something here?

these is the same people who had no problem with dennis lawrence losing 17 games in succession and his boss who didn't play one home friendly with the exception of anguilla, pocketing all those match appearance fees, and God knows where that money went. this is why TT football will never develop, in order to move on we must get away from these former footballer who clearly have bias and has been mainly responsible for the awful condition that TT football has found itself in.

i believe that the normalization committee should not bow to the pressure of these former footballers who are endorsing angus eve. IMO angus should step aside, he got his shot and he blew it, tiume to move on to someone who actually knows what they're doing, no more experimental coaches like dennis lawrence and russel latapy. enough is enough already TTFA, spend the money for a good tried and tested coach and stop using these former footballers who never coached outside the pro league..

young team?? surely you jest. hashim arcia 32, molino 31, mikel williams 30, aubrey david 30, ryan telfer 27, marcus joseph 30, marvin phillip 36, khaleem hyland 31, abu bakar 34, alvin jones 27,  jelani peters 27, duane muckette 26 and triston hodge 26, so what young team are you talking about? terry had an even younger team with the like of michel poon angeron, danial phillip, judah garcia, sean bonval and gary griffith the third.

Get the U23 and U19 players for the next cycle. If what pull stones say about the ages of these guys is true, then we certainly need new blood. No two ways about it.
if it’s true? just go look on the website under player pool and see for yourself, I’m not making this up. these guys are passed their prime yet angus went and scooped them up just to help his own cause. he left out young players who should have gotten the attention of prospective scouts so they could have gotten at least a trial here and there, players like Sean bonval who I thought played quite well u der fenwick and michel poon angeron who leaps and bounds better than 31 yr old Hashim arcia.

These two young men are only 20 years old and could have gained by the experience but instead snatched up 30 year old mikel Williams and 31 year old Hashim arcia at the tail end of their career to play in the midfield when we have poon angeron who could have done much better and only gain by this experience. but this is local coaches for you, these men does some mad crazy shite to make your head spin, like playing a defensive line up against crappy el salvador and guatemala.

Really, what has he done to merit such considerations? he brought back an old outdated goal keeper and a few washed up players who’s past their prime, he’s won a single game decisively parked the bus vs mexico and couldn’t get passed beatable el salvador and guatemala and was unable to win a single game in the gold cup bowing out to the competition.

since he’s been coach he has used nearly the whole team playing a five man defense against a team that couldn’t even get passed guadelope, and you want him back? no mate. let angus go find his way just like latapy stern John and jamal shabbaz who experimented on small island teams, let him coach the in the pro league and gain some experience before he’s allowed to take over our national team, no bloody way will I endorse him, he’s rubbish just like all the others.

Its so easy to be critical than to be correct-  I putting this to rest as  expectations were close to what was expected given the turmoil , the preparation and the availability of players, I think the team availed itself well. I am encouraged by the  progression on the youthful and primarily local  flavor. We are short in some attacking players and  in  being assertive and stronger on the ball but with these youths those things will come.
All the best Warriors- I like how allyuh hold allyuh own. Is not like we got blown out. El Sav is the only team that give we little headache.

Rubbish, you are a shameless troll. angus played 5 games won a decisive game drew three and lost one, he was under the same set of circumstances as fenwick due to injury and inavailability, in fact he had molino, hodges, reon moore and frenderup who missed the last two games, yet of the 5 games, fenwick lost a friendly to the usa, won two games and drew two but was dismissed.

terry had to deal with the same set of circumstances due to covid and all the other difficulties surrounding it, so no excuses, just be a man and accept that eve isn't ready for this level. and parking the bus against mexico is no great feat, it would have been better to lose to them and turn around and won the other two games. i call that a wasted effort. i say no to angus as well.

Eve has to be more decisive and tactically ruthless especially when making substitutions. And why not select Poon-Angeron who played consistently well to plan in his debut games? Instead he have some young players who playing like out-of-place journeymen in this midfield. They couldn't exert control or move the play upfield. Trini coaches only seem to know who could run fast or kick hard in training.

I know eve needs time and is new to this level but even a blind man could see changes needed to be made as they just walked right thru our midfield.
bro, isn't it ironic that we suffered the same fate with latapy, burtile and dennis lawrence? bertile who ignored players like whitley and dwarika and it took a dutch man to give whitley a chance to show his talents. latapy ignored a bunch of players who was playing on a higher level like kendel jageosingh, julius james and scot sealey, yet it took a german to acknowledge molino and hnor him by saying that molino and jagdeosign had million dollar legs and could play in any league.

dennis ignored hackshaw, ryan telfer, noah powder, fenderup and greg ranjitsingh, yet oit took fenwick to bring frenderup to the forfront together with hackshaw, mate i'm telling you that these local coaches are terrible for our football, they seem to like what they like and ignore all the rest.

now tell me how is hashim arcia any better than poon angeron, in fact how is isiah lee , andre fortune and jesse williams better than poon? i just can't see it. and he had the chance to put poon back in the team when hyland and judah were injured but refused too and instead went and got two defenders to replace two midfielders.

in the end i'm thankful we loss, now i want the xenophobes like andre baptiste, ken butcher and clayton morris to call for angue eve's head like they called for terry's, i could bet the whole treasury that they won't, they'll stay quiet and hope that no one notices and hope that it's swept under the rug. stay tuned.

OK, to all the fenwick haters let me see your gloves. i can't imagine terry doing any worst than this. you needed to win a game but started with 6 defenders and two laborer midfielders in attack, the only bright spot in this game was reon moore and marcus joseph. had telfer molino and mukette started instead of arcia, fortune and jessee williams we would have won this game handsomely.

in any case i concede to the will of the pontificators and the xenophobes who love to see local talent on display, but the only thing they keep forgetting is that local coaches are raving egomaniacs who are known for making terrible decisions and continue to follow through despite the many objection, thus falling on their own sword due to their stubborness.

i'm so glad that this little experiment is over, now we know for sure that angus can't cut it at this level, lets get back to the drawing board and get some football development going and try to fix this slow league in order to compete on a higher level. thank you angus but no thank you.

is angus shitting me or what, guatemala has a rookie goal keeper on the field yet his best goal scorers are on the bench gathering dust, not to mention he has these two laborers in the midfield fortune and arcia who continues to stall the attack, no angus you got a big D by me for your team selection, and it's the 60th minute and still no changes.

oh dear oh my, couldn't angus find midfielders to place in the midfield except two defenders noah powder and jesse williams? you could easily see that hashim arcia and andre fortune are out of their depts here in the midfield, these two guys are absolute laborers no skills no smarts and no tact just wild errant passes and clumsey challenges, these guys could never be better than gary griffith jr and poon angeron, no way. waste of a good pick.

are you sure? because according to the history Eric james was president for a long period of time, then he resigned and jack warner too over until after we failed to qualify for the World Cup in 1989, then camps came in after Warner resigned.

i saw Qatar play Grenada and even Grenada is playing better football than TT hiring local coach's for the past 10 years has totally destroyed TT football.
grenada played better than TT? Mate I don’t know which game you were watching but I believe you better get your eyes checked, in fact get your brain checked. grenada was the absolute worst of all the CFU teams in this tournament, their defense was shite and their offense only went as far as the 18 years box. honduras ran rings around then and so did qatar. I think is time to sell your tv and pick up knitting, your time will be better served.
Did I say anything about being the worst team in CFU ?I said Grenada played better football in there 2 games than we did in our 2 games they tried to have build up play from the defence to the fowards TT build up play was non existent.

Grenada just did not have it against Qatar. Qatar played a much more skillful game than them. Apart from having problems in their mid-field, Grenada made a lot of errant passes and mistakes at the back. Miss the cross easy tap in. Qatar has some good players. Their stopper, I think is the captain is very good. And a douglah fellah called Afif. The Qatari Leo Brewster. Real nice. Check them out in their next game.
I don’t know which game this disgusting troll watched but to say grenada played better than us is an insult to a monkey’s intelligence let alone ours. I saw the two grenada games and those guys were very poor defensively and on offense they are very none threatening. in both our games the Mexicans and the saldavorians were fouling our attackers just to contain them and had a very rough time breaching our defense.

in our second game we breached the Salvadoran defense a total of five time but failed to finish our chances, on another day that game could have went quite differently in terms of results. the problem with this disagreeable troll is that he might not even be trinidadian but disguising himself as one to talk rubbish about our team for his own kicks. whatever he is I’m really sick of his antics, I really wish he would go away and don’t come back since he adds zero value to any discussing on the forum.

So people just beginning to accept we simply just not good enough. Best we can do is beat up mediocre and terrible Caribbean opposition and pack our team in our half against Central American teams to hope for a draw

Is that the future of our football?
.

Sando, I old enough to know TT goes thru these phases continuously. 67 Panam Games. 73 Haiti Hex. Italy 1990. Germany 2006. Look at those gaps. It has alway been like that. Until we get people with money and love for the game, it will remain so.

So are you saying well that is just the way it is and we should just accept it? You saying well we always have been this bad and over ten to fifteen years we will have another short period of success so its ok?

If this is the case and we acknowledge this then we are saying we have failed. And we should not accept this as normal. If we cant change this attitude it will never improve. Older heads like you seem to always be ok and accepting of this mediocre level of success if to call it success at all.

We need to get rid of this old man dinosaur attitude of what we should accept in our sports

Sando, far from the truth. I bemoan the fact that we are totally unable to follow the 4 year development cycle so that we can have new blood by the time the WC qualifying comes along. We take too long to develop a good team. We need to do better than that. Sometimes is 8, 12 years before we can challenge Mex. and the Central Americans. Right now we should be blooding the U23s and U-20s for the next WC. What you think are on the TTFA drawing board.  F**king zilch. Right we need the govt, the collective business organization to assist TTFA. You think that will, could happen. In you friggin dreams. And with the financial situation in the era of covid make things worse.
deeks as long as I’ve been following TT football it’s financial burden was always squarely placed on the ministry’s shoulders. The ttfa ttff or TT whatever they called themselves back then we’re never an independent body generating their own funds to nurture football. as far as I remember maybe carib did a little sponsorship here and there but the bulk of their revenue came from the ministry.

can you imagine there were people getting stinking rich from football in england, but these trinidad bums never once reached out to the English FA for assistance in building their organization? IMO that is beyond shameful, not to mention clueless. trinis truly are a people of marvel and wonder, and I was not being complimentary.

Anther test coming up- Guat did put up a fight against Mexico and had some offensive attacks going- at this stage in our development no team is a pushover- even today if we faced Anguilla or Bangadlesh we would be in for a test.
Hope to see improvements in:

striker position- some one has to step up and create havoc in the box
We need to be more of an offensive threat
3. Our offensive build up and attack have to be evident as we press forward and keep pressure on defence
4. Need some creative flair up front
5 - our midfield trio needs some work- not defensively on the ball not offensively controlling or setting up the attack

we have no choice but to go for it. with a slim mathematical chance we hadda score goals we might also not concede but at this stage all bets are off
stop worrying your head mate and just rock back and enjoy our last game in a while. as previously mentioned, mexico is a top team in the world for a reason, they don’t fall victim to minnows, but instead go out and get the job done with precision and accuracy. they don’t live in wonderland like us in CFU, in reality they are concacaf giants for a reason.

nah I not worrying I know is ah fraction of ah percentage odds, I jus want to see us play with more enterprise from d word go
which enterprise you want, the one in chaguanas or the one in space?

Suriname played well against costa rica ... Trinidad have fallen of badly ...Imagine a perofmance like that against mexico we are ranting and raving about...

I agree with you that we have fallen. We know that. But the performance is something to rave about.  I have experienced that euphoria with the 74 youth team in Ottowa. Mexico tied one game in the entire tournament. Who you think tourmented their arses for  that game. WE.  And why? Roderick Warner(trainer) and Alvin Corneal prepared us physically and mentally for that tournament. Imagine no Normalization Committee and FIFA. I magine no covid. Imagine if Fenwick did not have these obstacles. The outcome could, may have been different.
twinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what would have been, and I would say nothing spectacular. deeks you see the longer we keep fooling ourselves into thinking that a good coach is the answer to our short comings and ignore the fact that we have to fix football from the youth level to the pro league, then is the more we set ourselves up for disappointment after disappointment.

the reality is that our lads are not quality players compared with the top 10 teams in concacaf, the fact that we can’t even beat El Salvador is ample testament that we lack quality and need to go back to the drawing board and find “LONG TERM” solutions to this problem, instead of fighting up to qualify every few years for a tournament that shows up our deficiencies. that foolishness makes no sense to anyone with a smidgen of intelligence, it’s like going to a black tie function in a dirty smelly designer suit, it defeats to purpose.

what we need is solid definitive solutions and even more solid minds to get it fixed, but you see all this nice football that we waiting to see happen in a red white and black uniform? mister man uncross your fingers because it is not happening until we acknowledge that we have a serious problem that needs immediate attention, so stop wondering.
